http://cnn.netscape.cnn.com/news/story.jsp?idq=/ff/story/0001/20060607/1029629030.htm

This is flat out disgusting.

OedipusRexIt -> RE: Now this is just wrong. (6/7/2006 1:32:29 PM)

Saw that and meant to post on it.  Thanks for doing so.

What is it about that person that makes her so full of poison?  Why is it the nasty ones are always so SURE they're right?

Rhetorical questions, but have at it...

irishbynature -> RE: Now this is just wrong. (6/7/2006 1:38:32 PM)

Ann Coulter....I believe she is one of the most hate-filled individuals I've ever seen in the media. I'm not surprised that Coulter would say such things.

redpetals -> RE: Now this is just wrong. (6/7/2006 1:41:51 PM)

i love ann
she is  very effective

NastyDaddy -> RE: Now this is just wrong. (6/7/2006 1:53:41 PM)

Stirring up controversy has always been used as a book seller technique, regardless of subject.

Perhaps we need to coin a few new terms to add to some older ones:

WTC Ann ?

Black Widow Ann ?

Coulter 911 ?

Money Grubber Ann ?

$$$ slut ann ?    (keeper)  what a fucking nerve... the $lut is just sitting around stirring up shit to make money!

SweetSubTrisha -> RE: Now this is just wrong. (6/7/2006 1:59:09 PM)

Hmmm i wonder if 'New England' would reinstate burning at the stake for 'bitches'... oops... i guess that was witches?  Heck... 'if the shoe fits'   [:D]

You hit the point dead-on.  She's just an attention whore....

SirKenin -> RE: Now this is just wrong. (6/7/2006 2:12:52 PM)

You bitch about hate by spewing hate.  How hypocritical and pathetic.

darq -> RE: Now this is just wrong. (6/7/2006 2:19:24 PM)

Yeah ... I mean, what she was hateful and wrong but resorting to name calling and lowering yourself to her level doesn't make you much better.

RiotGirl -> RE: Now this is just wrong. (6/7/2006 2:31:39 PM)

how do you know if she's wrong?

Not everyone is filled with flowers and i'm sure some folks already had a nice little life insurance policy out on their husbands.. bet a few of them were caught cheating.. ect ect

Must mean yer a hate filled person.. to think yer so right that its impossible that there are ppl out there like that

= )

OedipusRexIt -> RE: Now this is just wrong. (6/7/2006 2:33:16 PM)

I don't see where the two compare at all.  I wouldn't try to change your mind at all, though.  Feel free to disagree, but it seems obvious that she is indeed a whore for attention.

crouchingtigress -> RE: Now this is just wrong. (6/7/2006 2:41:18 PM)

This is the exact thing an attention whore wants, attention. And guess what that makes all of us?

SweetSubTrisha -> RE: Now this is just wrong. (6/7/2006 2:49:23 PM)

[:(]   Aww heck.. i was just trying to get rid of this cursed vanilla cone...

In Ann's case, if you take these recent comments in the context of all the other hateful/spiteful things she's said, then I think you might see why so many people react to her the way they do.

In addition, choosing to pick on 911 victims seems more than a little surreal - is this really such a huge problem it merits our attention?

Perhaps it's worth considering that Ann is a talking head for a group of people just now coming to grips with the fact that talking of terror and trying to scare people has backfired on them.  In order to reposition themselves, it's important to start denegrating the other side ASAP.

So, victims must be frauds.  From there' it's not much of a leap for Ann and her friends to say that they're lying/wrong/have an axe to grind when the failure of the Republicans to provide real security is brought to their doorstep.

Not a "vast right wing conspiracy", just a lot of people supporting their mutual self interest to the exclusion of all others.  Really nice people, I'm sure...

spankmepink11 -> RE: Now this is just wrong. (6/7/2006 3:06:04 PM)

I'm sure there will be many who do not agree with me, but please do not mistake this post for hate mongering.

I've been distressed...from day one with the amounts of "settlements" bestowed upon the  families of the  unfortunate  victims of 9/11.
Who dictates the value of a human life?  Is the loss of life of a 9/11 victim more profound  than that of a young soldier , killed in combat, whoose whole life was ahead of them?  Is  the death of  a middle aged father/mother of 4 who is gunned down in the street due to senseless gang violence (which to me is our own special form of  terrorism)  less important, or worth less than someone who was a passenger on one of those airplanes?
Says who??

My opinion may not be popular,  and i hold  no ill will towards anyone, but i don't believe our tax dollars should have gone above and beyond any survivior benefits that  others receive....ie....SS for those with dependant children  and spousal social security benefits that widows and widowers are granted.

For  the sake of argument....did the government make multi million dollar settlements on the  families of the vitims of the oklahoma city bombings? No.   When  Pearl Harbor was attacked, ( yes i know this is going back a bit) were any civilians who were killed in that action's families given "settlements" by the government?....No.

Just food for thought....

Johns?? LOL

Dustyn -> RE: Now this is just wrong. (6/7/2006 3:54:43 PM)

What disturbs me above and beyond it all is that ANYONE is slamming these people.

I don't care if they were killing the neighborhood children and eating them with candied yams and a Diet Coke.  These people got to watch, at least vaguely, their life with their spouse end horrifically on international news, let alone just national.

There IS such a thing as common decency and I would be willing to wager a body limb that if this stick figure bimbo had lost someone in 9-11, she'd be singing a MUCH different tune.  Probably just as vile, but some feather just never change.

Some good points, spankmepink.

Edited to add: Ann Coulter is a horrific shrew.

Level...Thank You for taking the post in the spirit in which it was written

feastie -> RE: Now this is just wrong. (6/7/2006 5:59:34 PM)

Ok, I have to ask a question here...

...but let me begin with the caveat that I really don't care about Ann Coulter or her books anymore than I care about any other political pundit and their books...it's all a bunch of bigoted baloney that does nothing but feed fires people didn't know they had until they started listening to slanted news media and reading slanted books, but anyway...

Coulter has done nothing any different than any of the people on the "other" side of the political spectrum.  They spread hate and lies, she spreads hate and lies.

I guess it really just depends whose lies you wanna take as truth, huh?
