I was just wondering if anyone has ever experienced a disappearing dom. We are not just talking online - real time play, daily contact for months, then poof - nothing - no response or contact at all. Any similar experiences?

That happens to people all the time, kinky or vanilla. I know it's disturbing.

Had you ever been to his home? You have an address and a home phone number?

If not, then he's married.

LadyHibiscus -> RE: Disappearing Dominant (6/21/2012 3:37:35 PM)

Or, just not that into you. Or some other conflict-avoiding reason for evaporating.

littlewonder -> RE: Disappearing Dominant (6/21/2012 3:59:01 PM)

Yup. I just shrugged my shoulders, figured oh well and moved on. Not that big a deal to me.

He's a coward. Or dead.

kajiralace -> RE: Disappearing Dominant (6/21/2012 4:08:41 PM)

Thanks everyone :) Baroana - thank you for making me smile. That's what I figured - coward :) This happened before, and he said, "baby, don't worry - if something happened to me, my sister would call you." so, not dead :) LOL
I appreciate everyone's input. I am shrugging my shoulders and moving on as well. I just didn't know if this was a standard thing with dominants, but they are people too. I think I expect too much from the human race sometimes :)

This sounds about right...... It is both cruel and cowardly not to tell someone you are involved with that you wish to move on. Everyone deserves a partner that will be totally upfront and honest, both bdsm and vanilla......Sadly it doesnt always happen.

MercTech -> RE: Disappearing Dominant (6/21/2012 5:40:37 PM)

Hmmm, what does he do for a living?

I do contract work and some contracts have me going 72 hours a week and out in BFE. Can't get online, marginal phone service, etc.

I tend to disappear for a while when I'm on such a job.

Sure, it happens within every race, sexuality, gender, age, income level, etc. People skedaddle. Why you would think it only applied to Dominants really has me scratching my head. How did that thought even cross your mind?

TNDommeK -> RE: Disappearing Dominant (6/21/2012 6:14:24 PM)

I tend to see it more with subs/slaves. But then again, I'm not really looking for Dom/Dommes. But it is very aggravating. You would think people would have more sense and could be straight forward.

kajiralace -> RE: Disappearing Dominant (6/21/2012 8:01:24 PM)

I don't think it only happens with dominants. I was just asking the question, that's all.

TNDommeK -> RE: Disappearing Dominant (6/21/2012 10:12:26 PM)

Oh it's all good, I was just giving My two cents, lol. I'm sure it happens to everyone, 'nilla or kinky.

celebnaur -> RE: Disappearing Dominant (6/21/2012 11:33:29 PM)

YES VERY! That happens to me even several months or so with the one person I've been with... honestly. :<

BlkDaddysGirl70 -> RE: Disappearing Dominant (6/21/2012 11:58:32 PM)

Hell, I even seem to have some particular person here on CM who has multiple profiles, but is the same person, who seems to get off on the "initial contact" stage of relationships (new relationship energy, perhaps)? He's hit me up so many times now that I recognize his "style" after a couple of conversations. Now I require that they cam or meet up as soon as we've established a good rapport. And that's when he poofs. I think there are just people who get off on it. So odd to me!

DonGiovani -> RE: Disappearing Dominant (6/22/2012 1:29:24 AM)

It's not just Doms..or subs... or Goreans... or wombats. Happens on the vanilla sites too.

Conversation starts, some things click, could be days or weeks later then POOF, they just disappear for some strange reas

Then wouldn't you let her know that was how your life is before getting involved?
