*adds Doc Martin to my list*

I cannot sully the memory of Leonard Rossiter by watching the new Reggie Perrin.

I have had this lifelong fascination with the west country though, and it's so lovely to see it with the sun shining.

Severe Respect there Lady Hib:)

My parents moved to cornwall and I spent much of my time before I moved to canada down there, happy happy times, Mum only moved after dad died because of the distance to my siblings... I would move there in a heartbeat given the opportunity

Prehistoric, the dinosaur one...I think that's what it's called.

Did you mean Primeval? The first couple of series were good, but it went downhill a bit afterwards. Still good for a saturday night giggle though [:D]

LadyHibiscus -> RE: For the UK posters... (6/23/2012 11:21:10 AM)

Primeval! Thanks, Bunny! I love dinosaurs!

I suspect I could move to the west of England pretty easily, myself! I hear they almost never have ice storms, and there are no bears!

Midsomer Murders made us giggle... but that hasnt been in production for years, has it?

I guess 2010 was John Nettles' last year of playing Chief Inspector Barnaby, but they continued on with the series.
I don't know if this year is the last.

Currently there are over 100 episodes but I don't know how many seasons Netflix has.
Still, it should keep GT busy for awhile I think.

FR
I love Cornwall and I like Doc Martin.
One of Clunes first roles was on Dr Who
in the 8O's. A small role.
I like Primeval it's good cheesy fun, the
first seasons were better but that's
usually the case. Love Torchwood and
Dr Who and liked Hex.
My favorite British show of recent years
is Life on Mars. I liked it's sequel or
continuation Ashes to Ashes to but not
as much.

SoulAlloy -> RE: For the UK posters... (6/23/2012 2:24:05 PM)

Echoing Dr Who and Torchwood, and wondering if mummyman means the reanimated episodes of Dr Who? A lot have been lost/destroyed from Patrick Troughton and William Hartnell, though I've heard some have been remade as cartoons with some of the audio...

Kind of cheesy but I like the Merlin a lot... Midsomer Murders and Jonathan Creek are good fun too :)

LadyHibiscus -> RE: For the UK posters... (6/23/2012 2:36:23 PM)

Oh Jonathan Creek! Until Anooying Blonde Bint joined the cast.

Thaz -> RE: For the UK posters... (6/23/2012 11:24:46 PM)

RS>> There is some talk of Captain Jack being written back into Dr Who for at least a few episodes in series 8. The current producer of Who created the character and wants it to happen, schedules permitting.

Lucy>>I love that show and I live here in Cornwall :-)

GreedyTop -> RE: For the UK posters... (6/23/2012 11:26:51 PM)

oooh... Capt. Jack... yummmmmm

LadyHibiscus -> RE: For the UK posters... (6/24/2012 1:26:42 PM)

In my fondest fantasy, John Barrowman is bisexual. I for[&:]bear from sharing the rest...[8D]

I have the entire original episodes on VHS tape. I then transferred those to DVD. I watched each week on PBS as they aired in the US. I have seen every episode.

If you have the 10th planet it'll be worth a lot of money as even the BBC no longer have it...

mummyman321 -> RE: For the UK posters... (6/24/2012 5:26:22 PM)

I do have it. I enjoy watching it and seeing how corny the graphics were back then. I liked William Hartnell better than his replacement Patrick Troughton. There bits and pieces on you tube. Haven't looked it up on Netflix to see if they have it or if Hulu has it.

CRYPTICLXVI -> RE: For the UK posters... (6/28/2012 8:21:13 PM)

Sherlock, Bedlam, Life On Mars was cool... and Wallander. Also, I am trying to remember the name of some series where some kid sees spirits who are becoming solid by eating humans.

LadyHibiscus -> RE: For the UK posters... (6/28/2012 8:48:28 PM)

The Fades?

CRYPTICLXVI -> RE: For the UK posters... (6/28/2012 8:51:03 PM)

That's the one! Great show...

littlewonder -> RE: For the UK posters... (6/29/2012 1:58:52 AM)

I think Torchwood is actually better than Dr. Who.

Have you seen Primeval? Seems to always be different twists and turns in the story. I also like The Fades. I haven't watched it in awhile though.

GreedyTop -> RE: For the UK posters... (6/29/2012 2:35:58 AM)

I'm into season 4 of Primeval :) I'll have to see if the Fades is available on Netflix.
