Didn't they invite him?

Doesn't say if they invited him or if the campaign asked to come, the only thing I could find is
quote:

An earlier story follows:

President Barack Obama will return to New Hampshire on Monday, June 25, a campaign official confirmed this afternoon.

The official said the campaign event will be held somewhere in Strafford County, and more details will be released as they become available.

I'd guess that the campaign wanted to hold an event in NH because it's a battleground state, and advised the town they might expect a visit... I'm sure at some point an advance team spoke to someone on the town council about the event.

tazzygirl -> RE: Obama campaign expects the tax payers of NH to foot the bill for police protection (6/25/2012 6:40:29 PM)

Carroll, the Durham town councilor, said the council's intent is not to try to "disinvite" Obama from coming to Durham, as some have implied. Especially since the council never invited the president.

Seems they didnt. Personally, the cost, to me, is cheap enough he could have paid. Yet if he does, he sets a precedent.

Hell, I would love to see it where they can only campaign at the state capital.

Owner59 -> RE: Obama campaign expects the tax payers of NH to foot the bill for police protection (6/25/2012 6:46:00 PM)

It`s also very possible that an event like this would generate more income for the town, from the large crowds of people attending.

I agree, it more than likely would, between lodging and food.

LOL Don't you even read your links Chum?
quote:

Link one...
“I saw Secret Service kick one kid out of a tree he climbed across the street,” Craig Mayor Terry Carwile said. “That was about the extent of it, and I think the community can take a lot of pride in how it responded to the event.”

“I have to look at it this way — I don’t care if it had been (President Barack) Obama or anybody else,” Call said. “It’s history for Craig because we’ve never had anyone of that caliber here, so why worry about it? It all averages out.”

Vanatta attributes the success of the event to training.

So they had a couple of tax payers complain... Wanna bet they are Democrats?

quote:

Link two...
PORTLAND, Maine - Drawing on his by now well-honed debate skills, Republican presidential front-runner Mitt Romney on Friday deftly put down an aggressive attack by a few hostile members of a town hall audience, who challenged him repeatedly on issues ranging from his overseas investments to his support for hydrofracking.

Another failure, a few hecklers doesn't meet the unhappy town visited by the Romney challenge.

Link three? Doesn't even mention the town being unhappy, or tax dollars spent to provide security... Hell it has nothing to do with the subject at all...

Wow, this has got to be the lamest thing you ever posted Chum, and you love to criticize me for not reading... Shame on you for posting this drivel.

I've never heard anyone actually say that, but when it comes to accents you shouldn't throw stones when you live in New Jersey. [;)]

Your fucking 6 DVD Blu Ray collectors set of ignorant drooling imbicility outtakes from your posts has arrived.   You don't have much of an education do you?  You sure ain't a comprehender at all,

"Certainly we welcome candidates," Durham Town Councilor Diana Caroll said. "It's important for our democracy. But when it comes to presidential candidates, it does cost a lot of money for all the services... Who pays for that? That's the question."

thats from your link chumming.

Looks like there was one republican in the state of NH that must have been a republican.

So, when someone writes a story about an unhappy town visited by the Obama campaign, feel free to post it so we can laugh at your ass some more, mmmkay?

Um, exactly how does this fit into anything being discussed? Oh yeah, you're pointing out how smart Romney is by avoiding town... Singular, not towns, plural...[8|]

Lets examine the story anyway, shall we?
quote:

The Sensata Technologies plant, which has been on the forefront of producing state-of-the-art automotive sensors, was owned by Texas Instruments, and then by Honeywell, before being sold in 2010 to Sensata Technologies Holding, N.V, a firm based in the Netherlands but majority-owned by Bain Capital. Bain, the private equity firm that Mitt Romney helped to develop and that continues to make him a very rich man, has since consolidated ownership of Sensata.

Ok here we have an acquisition made by Bain 11 YEARS after Romney left, but somehow he's still getting blamed for it.

quote:

The workers at the plant wanted Romney to make a slight detour on his bus trip and take a look at the devastation being caused by Bain’s machinations at a plant where many of them have worked for more than thirty years.

The plant’s operations are rapidly skrinking as Sensata moves to outsource work from Illinois to China.

Funny how they don't mention GfuckingM building a plant in China, and that maybe the plant GfuckingM is building is the plant that needs the sensors... Or it could have had something to do with the Illinois tax rate of 9%

I thought Chum's links were pathetic...[8|]

I am waitning to be proven wrong, you have one guy who was hoping for someone to cover the cost.  That is not an unhappy town. You havent any comprehension.  You are
all desperate, you have ducked and lied throughout.

I see you can't find your ass with two hands and a flashlight (can't let go of the doughnut no doubt) or poor piss out of your boots.

So by your definition, a question is now a complaint?

Here...
quote:

Durham Town Administrator Todd Selig says the Obama campaign should pay the $20,000 to $30,000 in police overtime costs it will take to provide adequate protection for the president's visit to Oyster River High School on Monday afternoon...

"We are hopeful that the campaign will ultimately reimburse us," Selig said. "As of (Saturday) afternoon, the campaign indicates their Chicago central office had declined to reimburse those costs.

"The argument is that they're not asking for public safety service, the Secret Service is, and they don't reimburse," he added. "Our response is the campaign is coming to Durham, and the town needs to ensure the safety of the town. If not for the campaign coming, we wouldn't have to incur that cost."

The town has typically covered the cost of presidential visits, but says it shouldn't have to cover expenses for a political campaign.
COMPLAINTS...

quote:

But when it comes to presidential candidates, it does cost a lot of money for all the services... Who pays for that? That's the question.
QUESTION... Did you miss the ? at the end of her statement, or maybe the phrase THAT'S THE QUESTION.

You should find yourself a better pair of reading glasses, Chum... Or maybe a dictionary, because you sure don't understand the difference between a question and a complaint.... We wont even get into the difference between an Administrator and a Councillor.

One more thing there Chum... Where did I post that the town in NH was unhappy that Obama was visiting?

I asked for a town that was unhappy Romney was visiting, last time I looked Romney wasn't the President. I can't help you equate Romney with Obama... And you still haven't shown us a town that was unhappy because of a Romney visit.
