ARIES83 -> Types of unicorn? (6/26/2012 3:02:39 AM)

Ive noticed the occasional mention of
"unicorns" as a slang term...
Ive never heard of this before I started
reading here, I gather its some kind of
rare and/or desirable type of person, i
can't remember an example, but I was
curious what types of person are unicorns
in your book?

Or did i misread and people have just been
talking about pointy horses?

kitkat105 -> RE: Types of unicorn? (6/26/2012 3:05:38 AM)

I think it often refers to a third compatible person in a relationship.

GreedyTop -> RE: Types of unicorn? (6/26/2012 3:18:02 AM)

unicorn is usually used in the sense that there are many men that want to have a bisexual fem sub/slave to join him in a relationship with an existing fem sub/slave. Check the poly forum.

You read correctly, yes it's a rare desirable type of person.
It also can mean that the desired person is Mythical like a unicorn.

Well hot damn, I need to add this one to the meaning list. Thank you.
I don't hang out on the Poly Forum, sort of wonder what I'm missing out on now.

crazyml -> RE: Types of unicorn? (6/26/2012 3:24:30 AM)

Indeed... I didn't know about the link with Poly.

I had always read it to mean "Something so rare as to be almost mythical".

My personal uniorn... A buff, 5'4", redheaded, bi, phd toting, submissive cat lover, who digs me.

Jussard -> RE: Types of unicorn? (6/26/2012 3:39:47 AM)

I've always thought Chimera would have had greater resonance.

crazyml -> RE: Types of unicorn? (6/26/2012 4:08:44 AM)

As long as she's not composed of different body parts from different animals (which is what Chimera has always meant to me!)

Jussard -> RE: Types of unicorn? (6/26/2012 4:33:26 AM)

True, Frankenstein's monster would be a unique kink. But this use of unicorn has pretty much the same definition as the modern use of Chimera which means there's already a mythical creature doing the job.

LadyPact -> RE: Types of unicorn? (6/26/2012 6:24:14 AM)

Greedy's got it. A unicorn is a bisexual female submissive who is willing to join a couple's preexisting relationship to create a poly household. They are called unicorns because the number of sub females who are willing to do so are so few and couples who are seeking one are so many.

ResidentSadist -> RE: Types of unicorn? (6/26/2012 6:42:59 AM)

I never understood why they were called a unicorn. It's not rare, the world is chock full of them. They come in all flavors from vanilla with a twist to slaves seeking a poly TPE. There are so many, I have my radar on the other side set for unicorns only. Many devote unicorns will only join an existing couple or established poly.

Perhaps I am not clear on the definition of unicorn or the gang at CM is guilty of using it too loosely? Is a unicorn any poly/bi/fem or are they only a unicorn if it is no strings attached like the urban dictionary defines it?

I don't usually hang around with straight girls and it seems to me that maybe a third of the bi girls I know are unicorns. I know my circle of friends is result of my filters so I looked at it statistically . . . are unicorns really rare? Remember, unicorn is not a BDSM term, it is a poly term and submission has nothing to do with it.

If 11% of all girls are bisexual and a third of them (by my observation*) are unicorns . . . that means 1 in 33 girls is a unicorn.
If 1 in 33 girls is a unicorn and about 10% of all girls are into BDSM . . . that means 1 in 330 girls is a BDSM unicorn.
But if you are in Germany where over 40% of women have submissive tendencies . . . then it woudl be 1 in 82 girls is a submissive unicorn.

I am currently dating a poly/bi/fem/sub/maso and although I tell her she is one in a million, turns out it is more like one in 330. Shhhhh, don't tell her I said that.

* I couldn't find any real world studies handy for poly/bi/fem/sub

LadyPact -> RE: Types of unicorn? (6/26/2012 7:02:01 AM)

RS, I sort of agree with you. On average, I have one female per year that seriously wants to join this household, which as a straight chick, is kind of wasted on Me. Hell, I turned down the cutest young blonde gal that you ever saw that would have been the dream addition to some households. Huge plus that she loved needles and when she did find the right Master for her, I still got to play with her in that capacity. One of the few people that doesn't belong to Me that I still allow to call Me "Mistress" without a qualifier.

The thing is, many people expect to put up a profile here and expect these women to flock to them. For most, I don't believe it works that way.

Yeah, now take out all of those that are batshit crazy or the ones that say they're poly, but really aren't and have the goal of destroying the primary relationship.

The reason unicorns are so rare is that your magnetism has sucked them out of the general pool!

Rochsub2009 -> RE: Types of unicorn? (6/26/2012 8:31:56 AM)

Everyone has focused on the "bi female for a poly couple" definition of a unicorn. But I've heard the term used in other instances as well in the BDSM world. Essentially, it can be used to describe ANY group that is rare and difficult to find.

For example, I am a black male sub. We are often referred to as "unicorns" because in many (but not all) places, black male subs are difficult to find. Most Dommes that I've met say that black males tend to be Doms, and that it's difficult to find a submissive black male.

I've also heard the term "unicorn" used to describe alpha male cuckolds. More specifically, a rich male who is highly successful and dominant in the business world, yet is completely submissive in the relationship (including financially submissive), and who is willing to be cuckolded by his dominant wife. Heck, I know non-kinky women who are looking for a guy like that. [;)]

DAMMIT! Too tall by an inch.

AHHAHAHAA

tameeks -> RE: Types of unicorn? (6/26/2012 9:38:41 AM)

I was told that I am a unicorn by my ex Dom, because I'm african american, a sub, skinny and pretty. I always thought it was hot air, but never been one to turn down a compliment. :D

Winterapple -> RE: Types of unicorn? (6/26/2012 11:19:15 AM)

FR
I imagine everyone has a unicorn of some
type and to degree.

The problems people online often seem to
have in attracting the bi female submissive
of their dreams frequently seems to result
from them being clueless about how to attract
one in the first place.

And if they find someone interested they
scare them off with unrealistic expectations.

When I've read some of those seekers profiles
I've wondered have they given two seconds
of thought as to what actual day to day life
would be like?
Do they think about that letting a third person
into your lives and home without a lot
of forethought and getting to know one
another is like driving a pickup loaded
with nitroglycerin while drunk through
the Andes?

Gladiaticus -> RE: Types of unicorn? (6/26/2012 12:46:23 PM)

I needed to look it for myself.

1. A sexual position where the man puts a strap on onto his forehead, and pleasures his woman with it.
Justin did the unicorn last night.

2. A sexual term derived from a hot, sultry night in where the man sits on the woman's head, and his balls droop into her eye sockets, and his hardened penis sticks out from her forehead.
I was given the Unicorn last night for $30! It was amazing!

3. Following in the tradition of "the Dirty Sanchez", this is a sexual act. This can only be done to a girl with hair at least 8 inches long. While she is sleeping you ejaculate in her hair, aiming to the front, specifically. Then, take a small clump of her hair,a t the very front and center, and pull it straight up till it's taut. Rubbing the seminal fluid and holding the hair until it dries, she will wake up with her hair resembling that distinguishing feature of a unicorn.
My girlfriend was being incredibly rude, and I was sick of it. So after she fell asleep, I rubbed one out and gave her The Unicorn and left for good.

4. Where you ejaculate in a girls hair and spike it up.
"The Unicorn isn't a myth, I gave one to my girlfriend and she was shocked to see it
