Arturas -> Anybody care how the Supremes ruled on the Arizona Immigration Law? (6/26/2012 7:45:31 AM)

I don't. I (and many of you) know Government has only three legal functions, 1) Deliver the mail. 2) Protect it's citizens from threats, foreign and domestic. 3) Collect funds to do functions 1 and 2.

Therefore, it is clear Arizona will do what it needs to do to protect it's borders and it's citizens no matter what. Damn right. You go, Governor Jan Brewer. You are a hero. Call out the Arizona National Guard if you need. But remember just to hold on. It won't be long now till January.

The calvary will come.

Seems #2 applies here, especially as the court ruled immigration as a federal matter.

servantforuse -> RE: Anybody care how the Supremes ruled on the Arizona Immigration Law? (6/26/2012 7:53:14 AM)

The court also ruled that Arizona has the right to check for papers after a traffic stop. And they will. Sheriff Arpiao will have to put up a couple of more tents in the desert.

But Arturas doesn't care about that one.

Well, somebody should care, the penaltiess were cut out, but it still stood, and could happen exactly like that for healthcare.

And it made a very clear statement on immigration and 'prosecutorial disgression'  so the teabaggers and neo-cons howling about that and not enforcing the law to its fullest extent to bring the criminal corporations into compliance makes them look like the lawless fools and craven corporate capitulist unamericans they are.

servantforuse -> RE: Anybody care how the Supremes ruled on the Arizona Immigration Law? (6/26/2012 8:14:22 AM)

Isn't that what the Obama administration is doing ? Not enforcing current immigration law because they don't agree with it..

Moonhead -> RE: Anybody care how the Supremes ruled on the Arizona Immigration Law? (6/26/2012 8:18:50 AM)

No, that's more what the chimp was doing for the eight years previously. While the Republicans like to blather about immigratiuon being a bad thing, that seems to be just as much unsubstantiated talk as all of the crap about fiscal conservatism and small government. Teh Kenyan Occupist Government has been applying the laws a lot more rigorously than it's predecessor tried to, while working to set up an amnesty for some illegals.

Musicmystery -> RE: Anybody care how the Supremes ruled on the Arizona Immigration Law? (6/26/2012 8:19:28 AM)

A continuation of the Bush administration's approach and policies, actually.

mnottertail -> RE: Anybody care how the Supremes ruled on the Arizona Immigration Law? (6/26/2012 8:20:28 AM)

No thats not what the Obama administration is doing, but that is what the idiotic right who is not in possession of any facts or knowledge of the law is braying about and looking like complete fucking cretins.

Musicmystery -> RE: Anybody care how the Supremes ruled on the Arizona Immigration Law? (6/26/2012 8:21:19 AM)

Not just looking like.

mnottertail -> RE: Anybody care how the Supremes ruled on the Arizona Immigration Law? (6/26/2012 8:22:35 AM)

They should read the excerpt from the AZ decision I posted their, before they are all disrobed as fucking buffoons.

Really? Is Arizona now planning to steal the hill outside Jerusalem on which Jesus was crucified? Is this something like the mountain coming to Muhammad?

Well, if they leave it in the Holy Land, those bloody palestinian Jihadist shits will build a victory mosque there after they've committed genocide in Israel...

Hey, they got the London Bridge, didn't they? Anything is possible in this country.[:D]

For instance a constitutional scholar might just have his signature law found unconstitutional, how embarrassing is that?

kdsub -> RE: Anybody care how the Supremes ruled on the Arizona Immigration Law? (6/26/2012 8:32:43 AM)

I believe they may check only if the have reason to believe they are illegally in the country.

I wonder what their reasons will be…hmmmmm… Heh I know… Hispanic…I mean come on are they going to carry signs… “I’m here illegally”?

I guess it is not OK to stop Blacks because they are black but OK to stop Hispanics because they are Hispanic… I think they should stop white Arizonian politicians because the must be too damn stupid to drive.

Butch

Not quite as embarrassing as a President who campaigned on his mad business skillz being outed as having bankrupted two oil companies and using one of them for a stock fiddle that inflated his own shares price so that he could dump them at a profit, I'd have thought.

Typically.....this seems to be the cons are most concerned with.......

The Scalia comments about the "evil" of illegal immigration, was a hoot.

At least now we know he`s a political hack instead of just wondering.

Nope, the Court did not give the State the right to detain suspected aliens beyond the time needed to check their immigration status. Arpiao, the Bull Connor of immigration, will quickly find himself with an injunction issued against him. Only the Federal Agents can detain an undocumented person.

A synopsis of the Court ruling in Arizona v United States

Indeed! And when the Federal calvary comes they will have this SCOTUS ruling to back them up on deporting all ILLEGAL immigrants by any means necessary.

You aren't good at reading. Take another look at that ruling synopsis.
