So..... what I said was, in fact, true. Do you agree that the government should be in the business of telling private companies which state they can expand facilities in? This is my point. In NY the local government wants to control the size of the soda we can drink. They already tax cigarettes a ridiculous amount in an attempt to control what they consider a bad habit. They side with unions to make charter schools difficult to build because they know the public schools cannot compete. The teachers union gives incredible amounts of money to politicians to stifle charter schools and retain crazy retirement benefits. The EPA puts onerous restrictions on coal plants because they know that making coal sourced energy more costly helps newer but uneconomic energy production from wind and soler seem more practical. Look at social security. Basically a good idea but, instead of making it a demographically sound program, they took the money for current spending. There is no trust fund. What exactly was wrong with Bush' s (uh-oh, now I'm gonna get yelled at) proposal for individual accounts for socsec so the politicians couldn't steal the money? Think about our current deficit. How are our kids going to pay this? We can't tax our way to balance, we need to ut what we spend.

It's not about being partisan, they are all corrupt. Reality is though, sometimes it comes down to a lesser of two evils decision. O is far and away the most radical left president we've ever had. He is exacerbating these problems on a scale we may not recover from.

You're framing it as a political stance, but you're simply clueless (except for the NYC weirdness--you and your mayor are on your own with that one). Stifling charters? Coal is an extremely dirty industry responsible for NY's acid rain. Perhaps it's not a great idea. The windmills we're building pay for themselves in 6 months. That strikes me as damn feasible. We aren't using a lot of solar. What's wrong with making SS safe in Bush's privatization plan? The stock market crash. None of these things, except coal, have anything to with Obama. The same Obama who's energy program has us again exporting petroleum since 2011 for the first time since 1949. Without the Bush tax cuts and the unfunded wars, we'd be running surpluses. Bush and Obama share that one.

Makes me laugh when anybody calls Obama a "leftie". They obviously don't know what know what the word means, except that his policies are to the left of their own... FDR was a "leftie". Senator Sanders is a not only a "leftie", I've heard he's an avowed <gasp> socialist and yet the people of his state love him. I know one thing for sure, this country had better get its act together, get its priorities straight. We can't keep powering our lifestyles on a finite resource. And we can't keep giving corporations huge tax cuts, loopholes and other benefits at the expense of our infrastructure, schools and the poor and disabled.

No. What you claimed is a lie. The fact is the NLRB is attempting to enforce the contract between the union and Boeing. Boeing is ignoring the contract the voluntarily entered into with the unions representing their employees. In a sane world this would outrage conservatives but it today's upsidedown idiocy of partisanship no conservative can support fair and equal treatement of unions as bargaining units because that undermines the fuedal powers of the oligarchs.

Actually you're required to have insurance to use the roadways. You can drive around in your own yard all day with no insurance. My only point is that these two subjects are not interconnected. Actually the whole bunch needs to be fucked. To scream support for Obama and the Dems is just as blind and unimpressive as shouting support for Romney and the Repubs. They all lie to suit some corporate purpose, including Obama. Just like the wars profit someone so does yor precious ACA. And if you remember at the time they were arguing about health care the whole bunch liked the parts of it, as few as they are that the general population seemed(s) to favor. Health Care needs fixed, now as much as before this bill became law. I suspect that my Rep (a Repub that I voted for) would like to block my phone number from his office. Actually, theres also another aspect, you can do what ever you want with your body in your own home, you can even try to fix it yourself, you can medicate , sew, heal, make it do what you want it to do, until you enter the system to get it repaired or checked up , then you have to abide by societies rules and pay its bills. You dont have to pay insurance, but you can expect to be pullled over and need to pay into the system.

Actually I wasn't arguing that folks need insurance to travel the same roadways as you and I. I in fact pay tens of thousands of dollars a year to use those roads. I was only commenting on the argument that simply to drive you need insurance; you can drive off the public roadways, off public properties and on your own property with no insurance all you want. You may not get anywhere, but you can drive until your heart is content. I was attempting to point out that an argument should be properly waged or its factual balance can be spun and its volume forced inaudible. It is the shared privilege of community that needs to be considered here. Should the Community be liable for my health? Do you find it important to finance Sanity's health care? Or just that of those that concur with your perspective. Now I actually believe that good health care is a social concern, not from a financial perspective, but rather a human standpoint. The next Black Death might be just around the corner if solid and beneficial health care isn't available. We do need social health care, but not that equivilent to Cadillac plans. If we don’t put forth the effort to secure excess luxury then we should have unnatural 38DDD’s. We can't all drive a Caddy now, nor should we, but we should all have the ability to get to work and look after our own brood; even if that comes in the form of public transportation. (Please try to see my analogy in all of this.) Incidentally, the advanced railway system that Obama wants to install across the country is one of his better ideas in my opinion. Expensive yes, but much cheaper than Wars we seem willing to finance and still a place that Corporate America can invest its resources and generate even greater profits that benefit us all. Health care isn't a right, it isn't a privilege; it's a necessity when you have a communal society, which defines humanity on almost any level. I found out recently that one of my messages to my Congressional Rep was laughed at. I insisted that our American Aristocracy (Corporate America) had lost its way. It was no longer looking after its own and the backbone of its version of the American dream. Not everybody can or even wants to be a Rockefeller, but a Rockefeller needs everybody. They need management, labor, support and most importantly, consumers. That would pretty much encompass all of us. Concurrently if even just one of us, even the most inconsequential of us all contracted a small pox type virus again, not even a Rockefeller would be safe from the effects. So like insurance to utilize public roadways I believe we most construct a health care system that serves the AMERICAN public. I just don't think this ACA is the answer, but thankfully it has brought urgency to the issue. This law does need repealed, it didn’t do the job. It too was bought out and owned by Corporate America with only profits and losses at its heart. We in America need to start taking care of our own, and remember that we are all little more than one big family and we’d mourn the loss of even that goofy ass uncle/aunt that everyone kind of shrugs about when their asked about him/her. I believe that might describe a good number of you perves around here.
