Conservatives and those toward the middle tend more to discuss issues while leftists typically obsess with personal attacks, aka the politics of personal destruction

This is because leftists as a general rule cannot win a civilized debate that is issues oriented

A new poll is in the news today

Reuters tries desperately to spin it in Dear Leaders favor but in reality the poll itself serves only to underscore the point I made in the OP, which is that Chief Justice Roberts hung an albatross around Obamas neck with this Obamacare ruling

A few exerpts from the Reuters story:

Most Americans still oppose the requirement that U.S. residents own health insurance, the so-called "individual mandate,"... the new survey found support for it unchanged. Thirty nine percent of all Americans backed the mandate, compared with 61 percent who opposed it.

Thirty-eight percent of independents support the healthcare overhaul in the poll conducted after the court ruled Thursday the law was constitutional."


(Reuters spins this as a good thing for Obamas reelection by arguing thta that dsimal percentage went up a few points after the ruling, probably just a dead cat bounce though in real terms).

...the Supreme Court ruling is energizing opposition to the 2010 healthcare overhaul.

In the new poll, more than half of all registered voters - 53 percent - said they were more likely to vote for their member of Congress if he were running on a platform of repealing the law, up from 46 percent before the ruling.

Oh yeah... the president forcing us to purchase insurance is real popular. Neighborhood bullies always are...

The fact that the US is a center-right nation as a whole means that he cant be open about who he is, ( you have zero fact to prove this)but if one pays attention to the speeches he gives to his far left allies in labor etc, pays attention to the various slips of the tongue as in his "spread the wealth around" quip to Joe the Plumber... Reads his fictional memoirs etc, one gets the true sense of the man( You must have read a different version to the one I read. Your interpretation doesnt make it fact or correct)

Though I must admit he is not all there and sometimes tries to sound like Ronald Reagan one day then forgets that speech the next. Promised to cut the deficit in half by the end of his first term for example, and more than doubled it instead
(Again zero fact about his mental capacity, just contemplation ) the fact that the deficit situation wasnt the same when he made his declaration, to when he found out just how bad it was, is just something you feel you can cling to to prove a negative. It happens to ALL politicians, but in a monumental clusterfuck that was the recession, its the one you can keep tight in your little pocket of vitriol)

Like the true leftist that he is (given that this is a multi country board that it is, your inability to think outside your own millieu, makes you uninformed

Pushed socialized medicine as hard as he thought he could get away with, even pushed hard enough that he admitted it may hinder his reelection bid (At least he made an attempt to reform healthcare, because it is broken and failing. What have the republican party got to replace it with??? NOTHING

I prefer to post to the poster I have a disagreement with and not to label all with the same brush, because frankly it would be an insult to those who Im not arguing with.
If you feel my post was a personal attack on you, take it up with the mods or simply stop making broad attacks and respond with some level of intellectual honesty.

Pushed socialized medicine? He never even allowed debate on the subject! The only hard and fast rule of the whole health insuarnce reform process was no one could even put forward a single payer system for consideration.

The year was 1993. President Bill Clinton had proposed a complicated health bill, championed by First Lady Hillary Clinton, to insure every American through regional "health alliances." The plan required employers to pay for insurance, and it closely regulated insurers and health care providers through cost controls and purchasing groups.

In response, a group of Senate Republicans introduced their own plan, inspired by ideas from conservative think tanks in Washington like the Heritage Foundation. Their plan got rid of the Clintons’ employer mandate, and put the burden on individuals to have insurance — the individual mandate. The plan, one of several Republican alternatives, also created a universal tax deduction for health insurance and gave the poor vouchers to buy policies.

While the Republican plan of 1993 isn’t exactly like the Obama law of 2010, it is strikingly similar.

The fact that you cannot challenge is the Obama administration took socializing medical care off the table before the debate even began. So the question is why do you continue to make stuff up you cannot even begin to defend.
