These aren't original but they are always good.
Favorite dinner, favorite dessert, index cards he can turn in that promise a favorite acitivity you will perform for him, seductive lingerie (dinner served in this) candles, flowers, a super clean house with a beautifully set table.

It's your first one together so I wouldn't go all out extravagent just yet. Keep it simple; a nice homemade candlelit dinner, a small gift, a token of your love for him if that's the type of relationship you have, and then a romp in the hay in the way he that enjoys. Make it his night, not yours. Or if you don't want to do the romantic dinner thing, then you could take him someplace or do something that you know he enjoys but doesn't get to do very often. Again, make it his day, not yours.

If you don't have this type of relationship....well then, I guess do what you want to him since he's your slave not in the romantic sense. Or do something for him that he likes but you normally wouldn't engage in with him.

eerr....nevermind my advice. Ignore it. Best birthday present....a stint in rehab or a therapist and make sure he doesn't skip his parole meetings.

We both have been clean and out of jail for a year. My first and his first kid. He just turned 4 months. Things have gotten a little better since that last post. We are both trying. I want to surprize him with something fun. Like a scavenger hunt to a box of toys or something....

Congratulations on being clean a year! That takes hard work. This month is my own 10th year clean. I don't have any personal suggestions about what to do for him. You know him and I don't. Just think about what would bring a smile to his face and do that. And again, congratulations.....luci

Another great big congrats on the being clean a year.

As far as the birthday thing goes, think about what is personal and special to him.

Here are some things I have done for my guy. He has a lengthy background in history and is considered an expert in some niche areas. I took some Civil War era historic memorabilia he had, bought a light box and some fabric, and made a display case that looks great on the wall as well as preserves the memorabilia.

Needless to say, he loves it!

I spent about 15 bucks on that gift (not counting memorabilia).

This year I am working on a way to display his long guns and his swords. Again, these are historic collectors' items. I am thinking a glass fronted display case that would keep the dust off, hang on the wall, but would open so the items could be cleaned occasionally.

See what I mean?

Take what you know about him and do something special, that no one else would do, b/c no one else knows him like you do.

I know that you're just looking for ideas, but it's hard for strangers to suggest ideas when we don't know him. We don't know what he likes or doesn't like. But you do, so you should be able to come up with great ideas. Just trust yourself.

But if you can't come up with anything, here's a freebie. Since you're the Domme, you probably primarily do what you desire. On his birthday, become his service top, and actually give him the BDSM fantasy that he's probably mentioned to you. [;)]

Trust me, he won't lose respect for you if you actually let HIS desires rule for just this one day.

"Get out of dishwashing for one night."
"Free blow job, redeemable only prior to other plans being made, some exceptions apply."

Whatever sorts of things he likes, from massages, to some 'get out of chores free' type things.

Or you could make a 'menu' of his fantasies, and let him choose his appetizer, main entree, and desserts from lists of available activities.

Am I the only one who loathes coupon books?? Master wanted to give me those one time and I cringed and begged him not to. I would feel like even by giving him a coupon for something I wanted he would basically be doing something for me out of obligation or duty and not because he actually wanted to. UGH. I would rather him give me something he knows I like just out of the blue because he wants to.

I know others seem to like them but I've always wondered if anyone else hates them as much as I do? LOL

I was about to get on the lovey dovey bandwagon. But damn... why not stop going to jail and for a birthday present you all try something different in life.

I actually never use them myself, because I LOVE opening my big fat mouth, and making sexy or dirty talk come out of it. No better opportunity for that then begging or asking for things. HOWEVER. A lot of subs will often decline to articulate, or ask. Hell even vanilla people have a hard time opening their mouths and articulating when they really want something, and having some physical props to help that along can be a big help.

If you're giving them the menu or coupons of your own violation then it's not obligation... they gave it to you because THEY WANT TO DO IT.

Oh I know that, but my mind says differently every time I look at one lol. I just can't get my head around them. I'm just really uncomfortable with them. He says I don't tell him what I want or need enough but like I told him, if I want something bad enough I will tell him. It just so happens there's just not really anything I want badly enough lol. That I know aggravates him because he has a hard time finding things to give me. lol
