KaleidoKenlyn -> Feminism and Submission (6/30/2012 6:59:09 PM)

I occasionally get hate mail due to the fact that my profile starts off with a quote from a feminist but I am a submissive.

I'd like to know what you sweethearts think.

LadyHibiscus -> RE: Feminism and Submission (6/30/2012 7:02:23 PM)

I think that feminism has gotten a bad name. I think that the war on women is incredibly, dangerously real here in the US.
Feminism is, among other things, about being free to choose your path. If the submissive path is for you, good.

NiceButMeanGirl -> RE: Feminism and Submission (6/30/2012 7:24:59 PM)

You know, I think that sucks so much. Feminists say women should make their own choices and be allowed to be who they really want to be. If you choose to be submissive, then the feminists should stop nagging and be okay with you making your own choices. I see nothing wrong with being submissive if that's what you really want to do. There would be a problem if it was being forced on you but if it's not, then there's no problem. That's what I think.

Yep. There is still a dire need for feminism in the world and being a submissive makes you no less a feminist. I am a true to the core 100 percent feminist. I think feminism gets an ugly name from men afraid of the term and women that are trying to hard to be accepted by those same men that they don't even realize that it's ok to say they are a feminist. You are a woman and don't want to claim that title? Great. Then shut up and sit back and let me do your fighting for you I guess. When you get harassed at work and get less pay and less benefits shut the fuck up. When some man tells you to get back in the kitchen deal with it because you don't want to be labeled a feminist. I am okay with that. I can still love my man, cater to him, be feminine and loving and yet....I will stand up for my rights all day long.

If you don't get what a feminist really is you probably have a misconceived notion of it and I am happy to elaborate.

LadyHibiscus -> RE: Feminism and Submission (6/30/2012 7:34:40 PM)

It's generational, Aynne. When I hear someone young enough to be our daughter be PROUD to say she isn't a feminist, I have to wonder what we were fighting for. Is full suffrage in this county even a hundred years old?

I hope that rant wasn't full on directed toward me.. I AM a feminist. I know what it means. I am also submissive and I know what that is. I merely wanted other people's views.
Personally, I want to cater to my man. But I want women everywhere to have the choice. I want my friends to be able to be the breadwinner if they so choose. In fact, I've been there myself- bringing home the bacon.

Yes I agree Hibbie it makes me so frustrated. I really really have a low tolerance for women that want to disassociate with that word yet take the benefits that us old broads fought for ;-) I think that most of them don't even know about the suffragette movement. ANd we aren't even old enough to remember the original suffragettes yet I feel like I owe them a life of thanks for the things I am able to achieve by their sweat and tears.

Nope not a rant and yes I gathered you are a feminist and good on ya! That is just how I talk, I don't usually use a lot of niceties.

NiceButMeanGirl -> RE: Feminism and Submission (6/30/2012 7:45:59 PM)

There's nothing wrong with being a feminist and being submissive. I thought feminism is about equality and being able to make your own choices and, even when I was all sub, I was a feminist. I still am a feminist and I'm sure I always will be.

Good choice NBMG. I agree.

ReMakeYou -> RE: Feminism and Submission (6/30/2012 7:50:51 PM)

I'm totally down with feminists. There's no easier way to find girls with daddy issues and rape fetishes.

ARIES83 -> RE: Feminism and Submission (6/30/2012 7:57:58 PM)

Bah to feminism I say, what passes for it
These days is to close to politically correct,
Man-hating nonsense...

Instead of liberating a woman to own her
Sexuality and be treated as an equal, its just
Created another way that a woman has to
Hide her true desires from society or be
Labeled as some horney weirdo....

Womens rights are great but... You have
The right to be happy two.

If your happy looking after your man and having
A big strong pair of arms to crawl into in return,
Then fuck um.

Their only jealous anyway [sm=laundry.gif]

littlewonder -> RE: Feminism and Submission (6/30/2012 8:03:09 PM)

Yeah, can't say I call myself a feminist. I like to look at myself as just a human who just wants the best for every human on the planet. I think choosing one over the other is what starts wars and problems and misogyny and misandry and it's something we see A LOT of on this site. Anytime some girl on here puts a post about how she was wronged by a man, immediately it's that the man is an ass and that she should leave him, yada, yada, yada. Yeah, a few will say that there's not the whole story and it takes both or that the op is the one who is wrong, but the majority of the posts sound and look just like misandry. So how can you expect others to take you seriously when you do the same thing that those who are accused of misogyny?

Just like we're told we should see beyond color, the same thing goes for gender.

LadyHibiscus -> RE: Feminism and Submission (6/30/2012 8:07:37 PM)

And just as soon as women are paid the same as men for the same work, have the same educational and professional opportunities, the same level of healthcare access and research, and of course, full reproductive rights, I will worry about those poor slighted men.

One good thing about that 'obamacare'? Women will get charged the same for health insurance as men. That has not been the case in most states.

ARIES83 -> RE: Feminism and Submission (6/30/2012 8:11:24 PM)

That made me think, even I see the man
In alot of these posts as the bad guy, maybe
I been brainwashed by the feminists...

atameamo -> RE: Feminism and Submission (6/30/2012 8:20:35 PM)

I totaly agree with Aries83. The feminists of this world have forced me to have to go to work instead of taking care of my man and my familly. I have no me time and once I`ve paid for chid care, ferried kids to and fro to get them there, bought quick to prepare foodstuffs etc, I`m no better off financially than should I stay at home. Who missed out? We all did. Who gained anything? No-one but the taxman. I`d love to have lived the 1950`s when women were coiffed and polished, stayed home and cooked good meals and took care of their own kids education. A smack on the arse is a compliment for gods sake.

ResidentSadist -> RE: Feminism and Submission (6/30/2012 8:33:47 PM)

I don't understand the reason for the outdated quote in your profile in the first place. So if the people reading it are taking into account you are spouting feminist propaganda about a dead issue, I can see why it would rub them the wrong way.

Personally it doesn't impress me about your submissiveness one way or the other. It just makes you look like a naive, albeit cute little girl in her 20s. If you get riled up enough to burn your bra, I'll start a fire.

I'm sorry how have we (feminists) forced you to go to work? Stay home then, find a man that can support you I guess...or whatever you think it takes to stay home. Your post is confusing. The feminists made you not able to be a stay at home mom how exactly?

Sorry what? My father and mother have been happily married for 47 years, I grew up with a really awesome family dynamic and my Dad is very traditional and old fashioned. Rape fetish> Come again? You want to explain that one and tell me how having a rape fetish make one a feminist? Again, I see a lot of men afraid of strong women even submissive ones, if we claim the term feminist. I am beyond grateful that my man is not one of them.

NiceButMeanGirl -> RE: Feminism and Submission (6/30/2012 8:56:10 PM)

Okay, I finally had to go look and see what quote the OP is talking about. I really don't see the big deal one way or the other.

As far as ARIES83 saying feminism is making women into man-haters, well, that's just silly. There will always be some on the extremist fringe in any type of "movement," but that's the extremist fringe. I'm a feminist and I don't hate men. I love men. As a matter of fact, I love men so much I want to own one of my own. What's with all this man-hating nonsense?
