LadyHibiscus -> JULY Roll Call (7/2/2012 8:29:55 AM)

It is JULY people!! Who else is startled?

Well I am, of course. Second quarter is OVER!

I've been in my practise for over a year now, and am very glad that I made the decision to have an actual office, stress notwithstanding.

A month to Calibirthday #5, and our happy place on the beach! I am going to go on an excursion to look for fossils in the Venice Beach area, and JUST SAY NO to waiting at bus stops in the crazy heat! Did I ever have tolerance for the heat? All those years of travelling to Miami Beach in July, you'd think I would be more used to it, but heat and cold are no longer my friends. Of course the entire holiday is spent in the water, the shade, or the a/c, so it's semi-moot. I got a new sun hat on sale, and I am READY.

My rooms are the disaster they have been since forever. I am the owner of too many things. I am still working on rehoming stuff, and pondering some ebaying. But when cupboards are packed and stuff moves, cupboards are still packed! I will have to do some things in the next weeks before our houseguest arrives.

I am almost ready to send another batch of artomat tiles out, and a fabulous set of pawprint tiles for the capybara charity (the ROUS Foundation).

So, SSDD!

July, July...ok, got this.

CoCo had her last set of shots, so she is super safe from rabies.
Oh, oh, I have been running and working out super hard, and I can tell already that My legs are getting bigger with muscle, aaaaaaand My stamina from running is building up. Really proud of that.
My diploma came in but still waiting on My license.
My plants are growing like weeds, so My green thumb is back.

I know, I know, My July roll call is super exciting right?! Lol.

LaTigresse -> RE: JULY Roll Call (7/2/2012 10:55:04 AM)

Still in a mooooooooooooooood.

SylvereApLeanan -> RE: JULY Roll Call (7/2/2012 10:59:19 AM)

I was recently offered a job working in e-publishing (see June roll call) and they've decided to push up the start date to 7/16. The shift is going to be odd - either Sun-Thurs or Tues-Sat - but whatever. I'm looking forward to finally being able to finance some of the home improvements/repairs that need to be done. I also plan to indulge my addiction to Pintrest by incorporating some of the DIY projects I've found into the upgrades.

Homeschooling is going...I guess it's okay. My kidlet is the sort of kid who does everything last. He'll wait until the last possible moment, and just when we start to worry, he'll launch himself into whatever developmental milestone we've been worrying about and never look back. He does things when he's good and ready and not a minute sooner. This just makes me more certain that homeschooling him was the right choice. I'm sure the public school system would have tried to slap some bogus label on him by now. However, this trait also makes it hard to evaluate his progress.

Other than that, not much to report.

LadyPact -> RE: JULY Roll Call (7/2/2012 4:19:50 PM)

July! This is the time to live in Alaska. I've seen some of those horrid temps in the lower 48, and I'm feeling for you. We had a couple of days that made it past 80, but it's roughly 75 F in My world just now. Please, folks. If you are in the high heat, please take care of yourselves.

Post NE3 report; quick version. Despite My personal life crap that was not the smoothest pre event situation, having the nerves associated with doing a major event, and certain things that are not suited for the general board, I'm calling it a success! All three of My classes were well attended and received by those who were in the seats. The "From Monogamy to Poly" class (first morning slot on Friday, so the nerves were definitely in play) was blogged on leatherati.com by some of My favorite presenters who were reporting for the event. My other half was My bottom for the wax class and that was cool to the ninth degree. Speaking of wax, I sold enough candles to cover My basic grass roots supplies. (Molds, color additive, etc.) Still have more than enough left over to cover the sales of people who have wanted to buy them since, plus a good personal supply. I didn't have the highest sales as a vendor, but it was a respectable amount, and I was more than satisfied.

Piggybacking these good things, I am very pleased with My personal success in the health department. Believe it or not, My smoking habit has reduced by 75% in just the last couple of weeks. My other half and I purchased vapor pipes, which are something like electronic cigarettes. I am very happy with this product. Basically, it's the nicotine without all of the crap. Going from a two pack plus a day habit to less than half a pack a day, in such a short time, is amazing to Me. I'm thrilled. Along with getting past this hurdle, I am finally in the position to get off of the med that was giving Me such horrid side effects with My ears. The next couple of weeks will be bumpy, but it will be worth it. After that, we will be adding a thyroid med to fix that problem that has gone unchecked. My vitamin D levels are holding, so this is the best time for it. All very good news.

My family. I would like to both apologize and thank all of the people who have supported us during various difficulties. The news on this is very good, but as a matter of decorum, I'm not ready to be public. I would like to particularly thank Hib, Lance, Otters, and SuthrnCmft for all of their assistance that I and My family have received, and taking their time for us.

There's no Venice Beach in Michigan!

But, to the point...you got an office...away from the house?

Congrats!

You'll get 3 times as much done as before and....the cost is LESS than nominal.

Shocked the shit out of me 25 years ago....but it works.

LadyHibiscus -> RE: JULY Roll Call (7/3/2012 8:23:05 AM)

JJ. DO YOU PAY ANY ATTENTION TO MY LIFE AT ALL???? WHY THE HELL NOT???

No wonder I don't have my capybara. OR my cupcakes. Sheesh. And while the cost is far from nominal, yes, I am not suited to working at home at all.

Wait a sec....hold on....it's coming to me.....fuck...wait.....fuck....who are you again?

You got cupcakes? I know this alone is reason for you and I to be friends. Have we spoken before?

Is a capybara a brand new new kind of cupcake?

Explain to me again why you're my henchman?

Because I have a 29 inch penis and when I get a hard on I pass out for hours at a time which gives you access to my credit card, my pinto station wagon and a full tank of gas and you can pretty much do anything you want.

LadyHibiscus -> RE: JULY Roll Call (7/3/2012 5:34:37 PM)

Fuck the Pinto you KNOW I want the Pacer! And all the 8-tracks had BETTER be there!

DiurnalVampire -> RE: JULY Roll Call (7/3/2012 7:24:37 PM)

LadyHibiscus -> RE: JULY Roll Call (7/3/2012 7:51:53 PM)

Madame4a -> RE: JULY Roll Call (7/4/2012 5:07:32 AM)

ahhh... just yesterday I got my bad news from the allergist... I had an anaphylaxis reaction the first weekend in June... totally unclear what caused it and before testing my Doc thought maybe oral allergy syndrome... a very icky place to be... small small percentageoffolks actually have anaphylaxis from that -- so I wasn't happy. We got the news last night though.. I'm allergic to tree nuts and of course peanuts... so I add that to the list of shellfish and salmon.

I'm not happy about that; nuts were a huge part of my diet. I am happy its not the OAS though, as that involved a lot of fresh stuff. So I can now go back to all my salad, avocado and fresh fruit for the summer.

Beyond that, wedding planning continues -- hunting for a caterer these days -- found a band, though they are very likely out of our price range.

Stress is very high for me these days.. Mom, darling boy's family, work is very very busy, allergy stuff... etc.. so I took a week off -- starting today...

I'm sure there's more, but I hate recounting it all as it makes me anxious.. yuck...

best to everyone

VioletViolence -> RE: JULY Roll Call (7/4/2012 8:50:31 AM)

Although I'm not a huge contributor to the boards, I'm also back on CM. After a roller coaster of a personal relationship, I'm back to being happy and settled (just need to find a new job). The weather hasn't been all that good at all, unlike most of you we're still waiting for summer to start in the PNW. Right now I'm looking forward to the future and lurking on these boards again, giggling at all the antics [:)]

I'm allergic to weddings.

MistressDarkArt -> RE: JULY Roll Call (7/5/2012 3:12:37 PM)

Summer's in full swing here on the central CA coast. Busy with tons of music events and spending as much time outside as possible. Salivating over a 5 string fiddle after hearing several in action. Sold a bunch of stuff I wasn't using anymore so the proceeds may go that direction.

Having a blast with the band; we're preparing for our first gig later this month. The cello player and her husband are the absolute bomb; if I were bi and poly this couple would be the one I would want to be with.

Poor Cabin Boy is caught between caring for his failing mom, raising his 9-year old boy as the full-time parent, keeping up his trucking business, making sure his 40-acre ranch doesn't burn to the ground, and tearing the boat apart for some major repairs. He is the hardest working, most giving person I know. I try to help when he lets me, but I'm worried he's going to self-destruct if he keeps up this pace. Needless to say with the boat apart we won't be sailing this summer :-(

I'm dating a vanilla. It is very odd NOT to imagine this tall, strong man looking up at me in rapt attention from his place at my feet. He knows of my lifestyle proclivities, but I don't feel comfortable introducing him to those right now. Focusing on the friendship first, as it should be.

All else is well! Hope everyone had a wonderful 4th and y'all enjoy the rest of your summer!

Lockit -> RE: JULY Roll Call (7/5/2012 3:44:54 PM)

Its very nice to see some of you again! Welcome back! To those with improving health situations, woot, woot and those struggling with new things, I hope you manage to get through them and find comfort and food replacements.

Since the twenty three years later, daddy's home thread... life has been a major upheaval. I haven't seen this much drama in decades! There has been a lot of damage all the way around and that son of a bitch is laughing his ass off... but we will see who laughs last. All my boundaries were crossed ending in a big blow up and now we are tentatively trying to find our balance and some semblance of normalcy. A couple friends have held me together on lost days and when I wanted to go full blown red headed monster.

It has made me more determined to live more for myself and less for everyone else. I am focusing on finishing up the remodel and kicking my own ass working to hard and I am working as much as I can when not dying in pain, to get this book ready for publishing within the next three months. I've got my graphics person and my editor and just need to find someone that can do html and formatting. I've learned a lot about marketing and such, so will head into this with the hopes of making a bit of money. I already have the next two books in the planning stages. If I do start making some money and my editor thinks that I will, I may move from this state I really can't stand and go find a better place, with better weather and just visit the family here! It really is time for ME.

All in all... making it with bad stuff and good stuff and looking forward!
