How is Romney "Bush on steroids".

He has an "R" by his name? [sm=lol.gif]

The Supreme Court... I suppose you LIKE the decision that says the federal government can force to you buy or not buy things, and enforce their new dictatorial powers with "tax penalties" backed up by armies of IRS agents

But Romney is Bush on Steroids. That's the difference.

Along with health care and the Supreme Court.

Yes, I do. It's originally a Republican idea, you know--from the Gingrich camp in the 90s, copying by Romney in MA. They were for it before they were against it--sound familiar? [;)]

To spread out insurance risk/cost to cover citizens, we need the larger pool, and that means including everyone. What I disagree with is the employer based delivery, but that's where we are in the U.S.; so be it.

How is Mitt Bush on steroids? He wants the military policy and tax policy to go much, much further than Bush took it. Even MORE of what got us here. It's insane. No, no, no, no, no.
https://www.google.com/search?q=Romney+is+bush+on+steroids&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&aq=t&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&client=firefox-a

I just stated my reasons in another thread:

Much as I hate them, I would have continued the wars as well. Picking up and booking isn't a favorable option; the neo-cons saw to that. As soon as possible, yes, but we'll going to have infrastructure there forever. McCain was right about that.

We don't need to keep repeating this. I think we're in agreement on the basic facts: Bush sucked. Obama is Bush Lite. Romney is Bush on steroids. That's enough for me right there. Health Care is long overdue, and there's a clear difference there. The Supreme Court is a political weapon these days, so the D and the R mean everything as far as appointments, of which we can expect a couple, due to aging justices. And while I would have considered a strong Republican candidate, the GOP has done a thorough job of becoming a lock step party since 2000, making it dangerous to put a Republican candidate I'd otherwise like in office, any office, as another vote for their agenda. Even their dissenters aren't encouraging--the moderate ones are suppressed, and the even nuttier ones have followings. I agree with those who say "What happened to the Republican Party?" I watched it start when Reagan embraced Falwell and the RR. That turned me to Democrats, not as a strong supporter, but to stop something I believe is truly dangerous. When this phase of history finally ends, I'll be back to being an independent. Those are my positions. You don't need to agree with them.

Further, I'm always fascinated by the strong rhetoric from right-leaning posters who don't realize that their anti-outsourcing anti-NAFTA bring-jobs-here rhetoric is a longstanding leftist position--it's what organized labor wants. Further ironically is that I'm actually a strong supporter of free trade and globalization--I think it needs much more meaningful international law, but is overall beneficial and would be more so if we recognized reality and worked with it instead of putting up barriers that only slow our own economy.

So again, no need to go on the attack--that's my position, it has been for a long time, and it's why, despite my disagreement over tax cuts, civil liberties, and my unhappiness with continued war, I find Obama the better choice. And I LIKE that he's respectful to foreign leaders.

P.S. Add to this that Romney has no plans, at least none he's sharing, just the vague hope that things will magically get better, and to go way further than Bush on the military and taxes. No thanks. That's how we got here.

Would you like these new dictatorial powers once taken up by the GOP

How about the broad new powers Obama has assumed when choosing to ignore his duty to enforce laws that he personally disagrees with, in the same manner. Will you also approve of these new powers when wielded by Republicans

?

As you already know, I oppose it in both parties. Another case of Bush Lite.

You blindly grasp for partisan swings. Romney certainly isn't going to repeal these powers.

Sanity -> RE: We got 4 months left....who you gonna vote for? (7/8/2012 9:52:04 AM)

You think theres a chance future presidents will continue to use Obamas pioneering Constitutional abuses?

No.....

(wheres that sarcasm thingy when you need it)

Kinda the whole point of what I wrote point there Muse...

Now whaddaya say we elect someone who isnt such a wise guy when it comes to broadly expanding governments powers over the average citizen

Just like Bush's -- a chance? I think it's a certainty.

Why do you suppose I oppose it in both parties? Cheney managed to undo what we did to control it after Nixon. The damage will last decades.

This is the depth of your knowledge of Romney:
* He knows how to create private sector jobs which is something that Obama doesn't have a clue about.
* He also knows why jobs go overseas which Obama is utterly clueless about.
* Therefore Romney is in an excellent position to offer some actual real world counsel on how to create jobs that will stay in America

Really?....you must be more gullable than you are bright...

Hows this... I'll recap so you don't get confused by all the big words. Try to read slowly just in case you are actually capable of understanding it.

* In 2010, 17 states elected new Republican Governors and 8 states elected new Democratic Governors.

* All 17 states that elected a new Republican Governor have shown a decrease in unemployment.

* Of the 8 states who elected new Democratic Governors, all but one (New York) showed an increase in unemployment.

By all means, feel free to stay on your ridiculous train of not-actual-thought when you go to the polls. Continue supporting failed liberal economic policies. Continue to keep your lips firmly planted on the proverbial ass of Barry O and other party leaders who have proven time and again that they are clueless on just about every aspect of leadership. You just go ahead and do that so you can continue to cry about how it was the other guys fault and your leaders are powerless to do anything about it.

My vote will go to Mitt Romney and the party that appears to actually be doing something productive for the economy. My vote is going to go to the folks who have decided to roll up their sleeves and actually make an effort to pull us out of an economic morass. I'm going to vote for the guy who's running on the notion that America is not powerless to climb out of an economic mess.

I don't give a fuck if you dislike the fact that I have nothing but disdain a President, an administration, and a political ideology that fails to perform in every imaginable way... I see no reason to change my opinions based or the way I talk about Oblamer and his ongoing failure based on your inept trolling.

Your support is based not on fact, but conjecture, typical rebuttal from one who has no knowledge of the very Candidate he supports.

Of the 8 states who elected new Democratic Governors, all but one (New York) showed an increase in unemployment.

Read it again.

Colorado - 8.8% to 8.1% = a decline of 0.7%

New York - 8.2% to 8.6% = an increase of 0.4%

Oregon - 9.9% to 8.4% = a decline of 1.5%

California - 12.1% to 10.8% = a decline of 1.3%

Connecticut - 9.3% to 7.8% = a decline of 1.5%

Hawaii - 6.7% to 6.3% = a decline of 0.4%

Minnesota - 6.8% to 5.6% = a decline of 1.2%

Vermont - 6.0% to 4.6% = a decline of 1.4%

According to your own link, you got it backwards, Dave.

I would look to your own intellectual shortcomings if I were you. You obviously fail to grasp even the simplest concepts.

There are only going to be two viable candidates. One who has taken the last 3 1/2 years becoming one of the worst Presidents in the history of the United States, and one who has not.

It is really that simple.

If you disagree with me, that's fine. I don't care. So far though, you have not been able to provide a single argument against anything I have said. Nor have you provided any support for the idiot you appear to be in support of.

You

Anyone who bases his vote on this bowing nonsense, simply makes the argument against universal suffrage.

SadistDave -> RE: We got 4 months left....who you gonna vote for? (7/8/2012 1:52:58 PM)

Thanks for the correction. I think the argument is still valid though based on the fact that unemployment is going down at a higher rate in Republican governed states than it is in Democratic governed states. It still looks to be substantially faster on average according to the numbers.

Moonhead -> RE: We got 4 months left....who you gonna vote for? (7/8/2012 2:07:05 PM)

So are you arguing that unemployment is purely a State level issue and should be left to the Governors to sort out, then?

SilverMark -> RE: We got 4 months left....who you gonna vote for? (7/8/2012 2:10:46 PM)

Dave, you meant that you'll keep your head buried firmly in your ass and pull the level for someone who's policies you know nothing about....

You can only argue Obama, and not a shred of information on Romney, except your beliefs. Still and all, a weak argument devoid of substance, thanks for being such a fine example of why the Republicans will not win in 2012!

Keep trying! Sooner or later you will discover something that Romney actually plans to do beyond his first day, and you can share your knowledge with us all! I am sure we can spare a minute and a half or so!

However, I do understand white liberals unwavering support for Barak Obama. Here's my take on it, and I won't mince words like some candy-assed hack. I think that deep down, white liberals only like Obama because he's half-black. It's not like he actually does anything worthy of anyone's support. His record proves that. Blacks supported him the first time because he's black. That's fair... They voted for the history of it. Now they've figured out his game and many of them won't be voting for him again. They know that Obama can't deliver anything but Hype and Blame, and it's not helping them out one little bit.

White liberals have a reason to keep Obama in office though. Supporting the first almost black president helps liberals get rid of their white guilt. I think that deep down inside somewhere, liberals realize that keeping minorities on welfare and keeping them dependent on the government is just another form of slavery. I suspect that underneath your greedy callous exteriors, you know in your heart that giving out vouchers for medical insurance and education doesn't even come close to making up for the economic chains Democrats (and most specifically progressives) have kept African Americans in since there has been a Democratic Party. After all, as long as you can keep blacks beholden to you they will vote for you. You wouldn't want them to actually succeed and not need you anymore, because then they would get a taste of the good life and you wouldn't be able to control them anymore.

I suspect that voting for the black guy makes white liberals feel less like the racists they really are. White liberals just like to think that it will absolve them of their all racist policies as long as they keep voting for their token black man. It gives you plausible deniability. "I'm not a racist! I voted for the black guy!" Progressive liberals are every bit as racist today as their founding fathers in the KKK were in their hayday. Gone are old chains of iron. Now liberals have convinced blacks to accept economic chains. Liberals may not be allowed to beat blacks into submission on a tree in front of the Big House any more, but they have figured out how to insure blacks are kept in check by keeping them beholden to the Grand Old Party. I'll give liberals this; they've done a bang up job of making minorities love the slavery liberals want to keep them in.

I don't suffer from white guilt, so a white liberal insinuating that anyone is racist is really just kind of sad in an ironic sort of way from my point of view. When they don't actually have the balls to say it outright and have to make the accusation in a veiled verbal attack, it's downright laughable!

-SD-

I was wondering when one of u dumbasses were going to bring out that line of crap.

no u dont suffer from white guilt,...but u do suffer from white conservative stupidity, and as a Black man on this thread, Im not going to refrain from calling u the bigot I believe u are for that ignorant bullshit u just spouted. u have not the slightest clue its people like u who are the real racists, or if u do, that Blacks actually believe that BS…..and the fact u even talk like that is proof of it in ether way. Whites like u want to keep electing white men for president be cause u feel safe that one of ur own will protect u from ur own mistakes. And ur CONservative history is full of those mistakes. And u keep shoveling that "liberal racism" crap to us like so much cocaine as distraction BS. No matter how much the rest of the economy tanks, u want the white wealthy will be above it all…. As if they're going to look out for ur ass first when that happens,…. And if romney gets in…it WILL happen. …And Im going to be the one point it out to ur sorry carcass when he says that he's created jobs…. But none of them is a living wage one. But of course, ur not going to care then ether.

The GOP made sure to stall anything he's done because doggone it if that Black man succeeded the white men would be seen as the bumbling buffoons u've been. U bigots are angry that anyone had the nerve to elect anyone but a white male. Yeah… voting for white men really has had the country running on all cylinders right? Ur party has been shown that they were for almost the same health care bill Obama passed & based largely on the law romney has in his home state, but damn it,..the wrong color got credit for it.
The economic chains that are on this country are from giving the white wealthy people the wealth redistribution they've accused the rest of us of doing while they stuff their pockets like chipmunks. With over 11 YEARS OF BUSH TAX CUTS It would be different if nothing changed, but the simple fact that the rich/poor gap has steadily widened and THAT has enslaved more than just Blacks but the entire country.

Yeah people are really succeeding in a GOP/conservative led world right?….

what was the jobless rate when bush left?,... hmmm? How bad was the stock market when bush left? CONservatives subscribe to the hitler concept that if u tell a big enough lie, that people will believe it. And the bullSh*t that liberals are the racists is just such a sick lie.

I didn’t see any liberals suggesting that if u stopped migrant mexicans from getting into the counrty that Americans would take those jobs….. And got nothing but crickets chirping in the silence….

U conveniently forgot to mention that if the GOP had not held $56 billion in unemployment insurance, an approximate $120 billion payroll tax cut for working families, about $40 billion in tax cuts for the hardest hit families and students, and 100 percent expensing for businesses during 2011 hostage, the tax cuts to the wealthy would have been left to die the death it should have never of been born to have.

Let me mention what My Black ancestors who were actually slaves had to deal with from the likes of u.

1. Little or no health care from their employers, - u got ur witchdoctor to help u...if u couldn’t work u got whipped until u died…at least no bankruptcy right?
2. Non-liveable wages - no matter how much u worked - u still had to steal food from ur master under threat of death to adequately feed ur family.
3. Hard work hours….. The GOP advocates the Wal-mart model of no-fulltime job benefits, but ur work 38 hours….and a free pass on worker breaks & lunch time violations. (ever hear of a GOP state attorney general going after a violating business?)
4. No retirement plan …..except death. (if left up to people like u Soc. Sec would have been in the last stock market crash…)
5. Of course u did get a free leaky roof over ur head…. I guess that wasn’t all bad
6. No workers union, or collective barganing rights. see WI
7. little or No consumer protections or enforcement of what rules that may exist. and limits on sueing violators
8. little or No business product or worker safety regulations or enforcement of what rules that may exist. and limits on sueing violators

All things ur party NOW wants the middle class & poor workers of America to accept, or rights u want to strip from them…..SO I suggest that when u want to talk about the enslavement of Blacks, and for that matter ANYBODY…. u wait until u actually have a brain to talk about it with or just stuff a dirty sock in it.

I supported Alan Keyes (R). Many blacks (D) said he was not black enough or an Uncle Tom.

The left enjoys crying raciss at any criticism of Obama. Where was the black community standing with brother Keyes? Oh, that's right. Didn't like his (R) politics.
