I don't know that I have any questions well-formed enough to ask but I'm sure going to be interested reading this thread.

Me too. I don't much about the leather community and my questions are so broad as to be unformed. But, I'm certainly enjoying reading the thread.

No, AIleen. chicks that pretend they were in motorcycle GANGS require snark.

lol, I rode with leather as a passenger and I wasn't in the GANG but I hung with them sometimes.

Manly cunt, how would you know what I have did in my youth?

I was asking the poster neither you nor the ass to mouth girl Aileen.

I rode in a motorcycle gang and wore leather top to bottom in the 90's, was I a leather and didnt know it? I felt pretty powerful and free back then.

No, you weren't. There's a difference between leather that you wear and leather that's in your blood.

Thanks for playing.

What was baited about this? I asked a question she answered. What is snarky about this? THanks for the answer Ladypact.

Yes, it was leather that gave you MAsT. Thank you for recognizing that.

*shrugs* It is what it is. Although i'm sure that you can only imagine my consternation at the idea of running to be the poster couple for leather M/s *laughs*.

In the end leather, just like a lot of other things, has definitely contributed to the world I live in today. Those contributions are valuable. I strongly suspect the reason I don't identify with "leather" is a lot like the reasons I don't feel the need for any other community. I think Carol is my "community" and my support system and everyone else, like you for instance, are "friends" -- some of whom are leather, some are Gorean, some are vanilla, etc. All my friends enrich my life, in part, because of those diverse viewpoints. I strongly suspect that coming into this already in a strong LTR kind of changes priorities and needs.

Wind in my hair, few responsiblities, woooooooooohoooooooo. The whole leather thing was fun too. Total rebel with a smile.

When was the last time you saw a patch that said ****MG, rather than MC? Hells Angels MC, Outlaws MC, Vagos MC, etc etc etc. Even the Christian biker groups have MC on their patches.

stupid bint is stupid (and no, Oside, I am NOT talking about you)

I know GT. Way back when, I had six month fling with a POBOB (who was a gorgeous, gorgeous boy). I very quickly learned the difference between the three patch, two patch and single patch clubs.

Hell, the Harley Owners Group has MC on their patch and the only qualification is owning a Harley. But, what defines them is that they're a single patch club.

Should you ever choose to run, I'll coach you. Expect questions like, "how do you flag?" and such. We'll have to figure that one out between us.

However, Dear. We could debate the subject of whether or not you have a community. Just a thought.

Have you had a chance to visit the Leather Archives? (I so want to go!)

(ps-you've got mail)

Unfortunately, I have not. Chicago is still on My list of cities that I really must visit.

Of course, I have had the privilege of meeting several of the folks who have contributed to those archives. Lady D in particular springs to mind. The Southeast was very prominent in My leather education.

Very much an item on My bucket list.

(Psst, you have return mail.)

My husband and I went before we skipped Chicago for good. It's very much a worthwhile visit. The museum is well enough set up that it will take you at least 2 hours to get through it, and the archives themselves are just unbelievable big. It would take years to go through all of the materials they have.

GreedyTop -> RE: Coming for the slaughter (7/7/2012 10:31:42 AM)

Oside, I used to be a HOG member, lol as well as a few other CLubs! but the others were all geared to women riders! 1%ers? nothing but a bitch at best, and forget having my own bike (god forbid the ol lady/POA wouldnt ride bitch!!)

gawd, I miss my Dragonbitch, and I miss rides down the PCH!!!!!

YOu want to interject yourself into telling me I did not do what i said I did? Property patch did not mean to me the clubs insignia, I thought it meant something BDSM related, such as if your leather you have a owner property patch. So know what the hell your talking about before you go calling people liars.

Because I would hope to educate. Because to a leather person, it obviously means more to Me than it does to you. If you don't give a shit, then you have already told Me about your perception.

I wish you well.

Well I am old-school girl so I am compelled to answer that leather is a material (preferably animal skin) which can smell nice to some, feel good to some and even become a sexual fetish just to be feeling it or even better...wearing it.

Leather makes up most floggers and whips and of course...the cat, the use of which is also often, a great sexual fetish.

BDSM are sexual fetishe(s) with the only possible exception being that for most...Discipline, it not being so sexual.

well, you are obviously clueless as to motorcycle CLUB protocol. Bint. let alone anything involving BDSM Leather.

Seriously??? Seriously??? You leather folk are nuts. Don't you think someone who actually is involved in the leather community would be a better spokesperson for... uh... the leather community?

Back to the main thread... this leather archives in Chicago is interesting to know. Carol gets back there regularly and I need to accompany her on one of these trips. Maybe we'll stop by the next time. I dislike entering the US nowadays, but I gotta go anyway in September.

GreedyTop -> RE: Coming for the slaughter (7/7/2012 10:44:54 AM)

And here, all of this time, I thought you were a guy. My bad.

Leather isn't just those things. For some of us, it really is more than that.

You make a good point about the D in Discipline. That is one of the distinctions that brings leather folk into the BDSM realm. It isn't necessarily the sadism or masochism, as a number of leather people are not. Yes, the stereotype says otherwise, but that is not where people should base their knowledge.

Yeah, the only women's club that I know of that is allowed to ride with 1%-ers is Leather and Lace and that's because the founder is married to a Mongol or some other 1% club.

There is a BDSM oriented ride club in SoCal, which is a cool thing (single patch club). Some of the members belong to a leather organization, but one does not indicate the other.

As for the statement that started this hijack: I always think it's funny when someone talks out their ass, then gets all pissy when they're called on it.

Sorry, LP, we hijacked your thread a little bit.

LP, I do have a question: What exactly are the Leather Archives?

Never said I wasn't nuts, but that's another thread.

Go look up Master Larry and slave barb. They weren't always leather. In fact, they started out just like you and Carol. And they held that M/s title for what year?
