Harbor Freight Tools has the same thing much cheaper: Flyswatter

Note that it's not a heavy duty, long lifetime kinda thing.

Back on track: I've had a hard time with a belt as well. The newer and stiffer it is, the harder to control.

Mmmmmm I love it when Mr takes off his belt to use on me. It's old and worn in and leaves a nice hot sting without marking (much) and he has such good aim. <gush>

But, seeing how you asked for feedback in the OP, have him double it up twice around his hand so he only has about 6 inches to a foot to play with, then go to work.
Belts are fun to strike with because they involve action in the arm, shoulder and wrist.
The arm is obvious in that the farther one pulls back, the harder the blow.
And the shoulder controls the angle.

I use a good old german army belt (old ex-east german army cav boots and belts were some of the best mass produced leather goods you can find), thick, well worn and heavy. The type that had a 'double buckle' with two sets of prongs and were built to be able lift and injured comrade by.

Doubled over it can be quite thuddy :-)

I also make my own but oddly they're mostly for holding my jeans/kilt up :-)
