I must admit I was a little surprised by Mitt's attendance at the NAACP conference. It didn't strike me as his kind of audience. Not many votes for Mitt there I thought. It was even more surprising when Mitt began to lecture the audience like a schoolteacher, telling them he knew best what was in their own good. I wondered what possessed him to think that an audience of black community activists would react favourably to a white patrician multimillionaire telling them he knew best ...... Was it arrogance, I wondered, or perhaps the audacity of hope .........

If one is running to win....they will have to attend these types of gatherings. Mittens will at some point,will HAVE to address Pat Roberson`s "school" and other rightist/extremist groups. Tho McCain and Mittens would(have) probably rather skip those events......if you`re going to get the fundie vote......one MUST pander to them. Mittens will say things like...."without religion....there would be no freedom" as well as other kiss-up comments that`ll make normal folks puke but that will make fundies all warm and fuzzy inside.

I find this thread very interesting... Not for it's general informational content, but rather it's personal informational content. I also go to a sites that lean right to watch folks and I am disheartened by what I see anymore. Mind you these are sites that have few middle grounders. Frankly I don't see anyone that labels themself "right" or "left" doing anything but trying to justify "their" positions; good or bad, right or wrong, up or down, whatever. Personally I don't see a good end result anymore. This country appears as divided as it was prior to Kennedy. Who's to blame? We are, all of us. We're on the down hill run folks. Starting with the trying to blame the president, for the disproportionate levels of suffering the black community experiences.......That was a whooper.....
