JstAnotherSub -> Tom and Scientology (7/11/2012 4:25:56 PM)

I almost put this in P&R, but, decided not to. I am sure it will get moved if the mods think I made the wrong choice.

I am proud of Tom's wife for taking her child and leaving, rather than allowing the child to be subjected to the things that Scientology had in store for her.

I think Tom is fucking insane, I think Scientology is fucking insane.

Someone must have given my exes name to the wackos years ago, because I started getting mail from them, I mean bunches of mail from them. I politely wrote a snail mail letter, asking to be removed from their mailing list. I called the 800 number and politely requested to be removed. Somehow they got MY email, this was 3 years after the ex had left, and I started getting emails from them.

After about 4 years of them mailing me, I would put everything I could fit in to the prepaid envelopes and mail it back to them, making sure that I left out anything that had identifying info on it. When I planned a trip to see a friend in Clearwater, I saved bags of their junk, and took it and left it at their HQ there.

Eventually, I sent snail mails, emails, and called them giving them, basically, the message that "I think yall are fucking insane. I think anyone who has anything to do with you is fucking insane. I think it is fucking insane that you continue to send me shit for years and years.". It was a lot nastier than that by the time I got tired of the game, but you get the drift.

So, how does uins feel about Tom, the wackos, and the wife, who had the guts to get the fuck outta there?

Cults only have as much power as you give them.

I wouldn't judge the marriage because it wasn't mine. I would not be surprised if other factors were at work, and I accept that they are none of my business.

But yeah, Scientology is something I can't take seriously.

As an aside, OP, why didn't you record and document the harassment you received? It would have made you a lovely court case! [:D]

Endivius -> RE: Tom and Scientology (7/11/2012 5:19:06 PM)

scientology is no more or less nuts than any other organized religeon. If you need to believe in a sky boogie man to behave with decency knock yourself out I say. As for the mariage of so called celebrities, I don't pay them any attention. I don't know them, and thier relationships don't affect me.

KYsissy -> RE: Tom and Scientology (7/11/2012 5:26:03 PM)

Next time tape the prepaid envelopes to cinder blocks or other heavy objects.

kitkat105 -> RE: Tom and Scientology (7/11/2012 6:27:25 PM)

They are nuts. But Scientology or not, Tom already proved that he can be divorced.

JanahX -> RE: Tom and Scientology (7/11/2012 6:29:53 PM)

Xenu will not be pleased. He wants your cash.

JstAnotherSub -> RE: Tom and Scientology (7/11/2012 6:30:37 PM)

Yeah, well I want his balls swingin from my rearview. Wonder if he would trade?

sexyred1 -> RE: Tom and Scientology (7/11/2012 6:32:40 PM)

Why are you proud of Katie Holmes? I think she is a fucking asshole.

Why? Well, not only does she lack talent, she is boring and worst of all, she was VERY well aware that Tom Cruise was into Scientology before she married him. In fact, she started a course of Scientology when she married him and was quite happy to do so.

So there were no surprises about his religion. In addition, she lacks class since she blindsided him and left him on his 50th birthday. Really?? I am sure he did not beat her or the child to warrant that behavior. She played the media, which was smart of her to get what she wanted.

He says he is shocked; I am not in their home, bedroom or any place else. No one has anything to go on other than the media. I know people who are into Scientology and while I completely disagree with their views, I respect their ability to have those views.

But you have to crazy to think she is an innocent in all this; he had Nicole Kidman who left him for the same reason, I can assure you, Katie Holmes needed Tom Cruise more than he needed her.

I am someone who does not judge someone based on their religious beliefs. I think he is a great actor and his personal life is just that. I have never liked her. I did like Nicole; she has talent.

Tom will go on fine without her.

JstAnotherSub -> RE: Tom and Scientology (7/11/2012 6:44:56 PM)

I don't think she is innocent by any means, she did marry him knowing full well he was fucking insane.

I do think highly of her for having the balls to get out while the getting was good in order to protect her child.

As for blindsiding him, who knows if he was aware there were problems or not. I only care about the chance the kid now has to maybe have some normalcy.

I have never known her as anything except his wife-lol. I reckon she is an actress or something, but damned if I have ever seen any of her work, so I don't know if she has any talent at all.

I guess I see Scientology as many of the atheists on here see Christians. Once they proceeded to try to cram their shit down my throat, I fully will judge them as fucking insane idiots.

I think Tom dumped Nicole. And she's all
the luckier for it. Her career shifted into
high gear when she got away from him.
She's made clear in interviews she's
not a Scientologist. She and Keith Urban
had a big Catholic wedding.

I'm not surprised that KH left him
it was a matter of when not if.
She and her daughter always look
unhappy in the tab photos.
Cynically, I think she married him
to get a career boost. He married
her to fend off the gay rumors,
the same reason a lot of people
think he married Nicole.
Producing a baby was probably
a part of the deal.

I think he was probably weird before
he was a Scientologist. There's just
something off about him.

I concur~ I havent liked him since he first started making movies in the early 80's.

Then he really chapped my ass when he went on tv stating there is no such thing as postpartum depression. That proved right there what a moron he is.

littlewonder -> RE: Tom and Scientology (7/11/2012 8:02:36 PM)

We have no idea why she decided to end the marriage...whether it was scientology, she was having an affair, he was having an affair, he was never home, or what not.

I'm pretty much indifferent to scientology. If someone believes in it, so what? It's not my thing but whatever floats their boat. She obviously didn't see anything wrong with it when she married him. <shrug>.

Do we know why his other exes broke up with him? We don't so we have no idea if it was due to his religion or not.

The only reason I can say I don't like Tom Cruise because he filmed "All the Right Moves" in my hometown and he was full of himself then and was a creep to everyone in the town who met him.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nicole_Kidman#Relationships_and_children

...Kidman met Cruise in November 1989 on the set of their 1990 movie Days of Thunder. She and Cruise were married on Christmas Eve 1990 in Telluride, Colorado. The couple adopted a daughter, Isabella Jane (born 22 December 1992),[64] and a son, Connor Anthony (born 17 January 1995).[64] On February 5, 2001, the couple's spokesperson announced their separation.[65] Cruise filed for divorce two days later, and the marriage was dissolved in August of that year, with Cruise citing irreconcilable differences.[66] Kidman was three months pregnant at the time; shortly afterward, she suffered a miscarriage.[67] In Marie Claire, Kidman said she had an ectopic pregnancy early in their marriage.[68] In the June 2006 issue of Ladies' Home Journal, she said she still loved Cruise: "He was huge; still is. To me, he was just Tom, but to everybody else, he is huge. But he was lovely to me and I loved him. I still love him." In addition, she has expressed shock about their divorce.[69]

All I got to say about that is,
I know nothing about scientology but Katie Holmes
is very rusty when it comes to acting these days in
my opinion, just saw Jack and Jill and her performance
just smacked of "getting back on the horse".
Keep trying girl! And as far as adam sandier....
Worst movie of his career...

ARIES83 -> RE: Tom and Scientology (7/12/2012 6:11:30 AM)

It is based on a book by Ron Hubbard, after all.

Xenu (play /ˈziːnuː/ ZEE-noo),[1][2][3] also spelled Xemu, was, according to the founder of Scientology L. Ron Hubbard, the dictator of the "Galactic Confederacy" who, 75 million years ago, brought billions[4][5] of his people to Earth in a DC-8-like spacecraft, stacked them around volcanoes and killed them using hydrogen bombs. Official Scientology scriptures hold that the essences of these many people remained, and that they form around people in modern times, causing them spiritual harm.[1][6]

That beats the hell outta some dude being crucified dontcha think?

ARIES83 -> RE: Tom and Scientology (7/12/2012 6:36:50 AM)
