houseboyforu2 -> (Potential Scam) Financial Dommes Taking over the Personals (7/12/2012 5:29:23 AM)

I am not sure if this is simply limited to the Michigan area, but I have seen a disturbing trend of financial dommes popping up all over the place. What troubles me more is that there is an eerie similarity to all of these profiles. I have emailed a few and gotten very similar responses. In one case two different dommes had exactly the same items on their Amazon wishlists.

I realize that this site is full of fake profiles but this seems to be taking it down another direction towards borderline fraudulent behavior. Is there anyway to report these people or at least look into further.

There is a simple solution, if you aren't into financial domination, you click "hide" on the profile. This is an adult site, it means the people on that site are allowed to marry, vote and make all sorts of decisions, I think being an adult also means to decide to not send money to strangers, especially since CM has a big warning sign up to NOT send money for any reason...

I suppose the difficulty lies in how do you differentiate between people who have a genuine fetish for getting off subs and those who are just trying to make a quick a buck.

Another indicator that an undisclosed motive is in place is any solicitation to get on Yahoo Mess. When the browser would refresh, it would leave a port vulnerable to attack. Don't take the bait. If legit financial dommes are proliferating, well, what ever.

They are proliferating like Tribbles!

houseboyforu2 - we get this lament every few days so forgive our lack of compassion.

Re: the women you've emailed - does their profile appear to be that of a lifestyle domme and it's not until you've emailed and she's responded that she reaches for your wallet? Or is it bloody obvious by her pictures and text?

When I come across profiles I don't want to see again, I just Hide or Block them.

MissKittyDeVine -> RE: (Potential Scam) Financial Dommes Taking over the Personals (7/12/2012 7:48:41 AM)

Send me $50, Greedy, and I´ll pop a tribble in the post.

*gathers up cat hairs and glues them together*

OP, stop trying to be the board police, you´ll just wind yourself up. Save your energy for more positive things. To paraphrase what Lady C said, caveat emptor. People do not need you to protect them.

Truly. A 10 second visit to Tiny Eye most likely could have saved you the embarrassment of this post. If she's impossibly hot, she's probably not real and just trying to get your wallet.

OK. I'll bite. (Tea's not quite ready yet).

I am not sure if this is simply limited to the Michigan area, but I have seen a disturbing trend

OK - it's nto your kink - but why is it disturbing? who is it harming? whose kink is it feeding?

of financial dommes popping up all over the place. What troubles me more is that there is an eerie similarity to all of these profiles.

Yeah They're findommes. They're offering the same service. How many similarities do you see between - say - daddy's girls?

I have emailed a few and gotten very similar responses. In one case two different dommes had exactly the same items on their Amazon wishlists.

You know, some people like the same things. IKEA, McDonalds, bookshops, Walmart and others all depend on this.

I realize that this site is full of fake profiles but this seems to be taking it down another direction towards borderline fraudulent behavior.

It's only fraudulent if she says send me $200 and I'll send you whatever - and then doesn't. The few I actually see tend to be of the "send me money, worm" variety. It aint my kink, but it ain't defrauding anyone of anything either.

Is there anyway to report these people or at least look into further.

Yep. You can report any profile. Before you do though, who are they conning? If the answer is no-one, then it may not be my cup of tea, but that doesn't of itself make it evil. The block button works fine if you dont want to see it.

I reserve the right to be wrong.
