ORIGINAL: Marc2b Which leads me to a question: why does the spit or swallow controversy even exist? I mean, here's what I don't get ladies... he's already blasted his load in your mouth. It's on your tongue, the roof of your mouth, the back of your throat... and you're okay with that. But the notion of it going down your tube and into your stomach... what? That's just too disgusting to contemplate? What are you afraid of? Weight gain? Does it upset your stomach? What is the mystery here? Yes actually it does. I have no problem whatsoever with swallowing. I'd much prefer swallowing to keeping it on my tongue long enough to reach the bathroom to spit it out because of the logistical inconvenience of doing so. In fact, my husband's diet and alcohol intake makes his bitter enough that swallowing would definitely be my preferred option even if there wasn't a logistical inconvenience, if it wasn't for my stomach issues. However, swallowing not only upsets my stomach and causes several hours of fairly severe nausea, it also irritates my throat (it kinda feels like a mild case of the acid burn feeling that vomiting causes). Now mind you, neither the stomach upset nor the throat irritation are bad enough that I wouldn't swallow if the guy was really into it and wanted me to (or ordered me to obviously). It's just that, if the guy doesn't really care, or if I don't really care about the guy, I'm not going to suffer the discomfort of swallowing when I have no reason to do so, and I'll spit instead. I don't really care all that much either way. I'm just not in the habit of causing myself an irritating discomfort and two hours of nausea unless there is sufficient reason/motivation to do so.
