The problem with this whole thing is the right wing just doesn't care what Mitt has done in his past. Their hatred for Obama is so strong, they'd give the presidency to Manson if they could.

And in the last election Manson would have been given the nod by the left as long as he had a D next to his name. Anyone was better than another repub in office. So what's your point?

I'm glad that we agree BushII was a disastrous tragedy for the USA. I guess the lesson is not to elect another Right wing walking disaster, who this election year is called Romney. .

If, following the unlikely event of a Mittens victory, Romney lives up to my expectations about him, BushII will have some extra competition for the title of the worst President ever.

I have a hard time figuring it out, and the Romney campaign sure isn't being forthcoming. Since he earned a salary as an executive with Bain Capital in 2001 and 2002, it hardly looks like he no longer worked for them.

Romney's statement "In Romney’s 2002 race for governor, he testified before the state Ballot Law Commission that his separation from Bain in 1999 had been a “leave of absence” and not a final departure" might be an explanation. In that case, he would have earned a salary for essentially being on the books as an officer while doing nothing. That sure won't help fight the image of a fat-cat plutocrat who earned fat checks while the workers got canned. But note that a Romney campaign official claimed that "Romney’s signature on some documents after his exit does not indicate active involvement in the firm. " Um, good luck with that one, fella. If he was empowered to enter into legal decisions on the firm's behalf, he's VERY involved.

I have no clue why he would claim to have left Bain's employment while SEC filings and his signature as a Bain officer proved otherwise. Dumbass.

So he had a no show job like Michelle Obama... And this is now a problem?

DomYngBlk -> RE: Romney still at Bain in 2002 (7/13/2012 9:38:09 AM)

He's the one running for President. Are you that clueless?

mnottertail -> RE: Romney still at Bain in 2002 (7/13/2012 9:39:29 AM)

Yeah, cuz michelle aint prez or running for it.  seems that his miraculous and exemplary captain of industry and jobcreator record is a fucking lie.....plus:

Can you imagine when the shit hits the fan at 3 am and the phone rings in the white house, and Willard says, I left that position in 1999.

Actually the lesson here would be for you to take more time reading what people type. The only thing I agreed to was that there are people on both sides who play the "vote for anyone but" game.

http://bostonglobe.com/news/politics/2012/07/11/government-documents-indicate-mitt-romney-continued-bain-after-date-when-says-left/IpfKYWjnrsel4pvCFbsUTI/story.html

"Government documents filed by Mitt Romney and Bain Capital say Romney remained chief executive and chairman of the firm three years beyond the date he said he ceded control, even creating five new investment partnerships during that time.

Romney has said he left Bain in 1999 to lead the winter Olympics in Salt Lake City, ending his role in the company. But public Securities and Exchange Commission documents filed later by Bain Capital state he remained the firm’s “sole stockholder, chairman of the board, chief executive officer, and president.”

Also, a Massachusetts financial disclosure form Romney filed in 2003 states that he still owned 100 percent of Bain Capital in 2002. And Romney’s state financial disclosure forms indicate he earned at least $100,000 as a Bain “executive” in 2001 and 2002, separate from investment earnings.

The timing of Romney’s departure from Bain is a key point of contention because he has said his resignation in February 1999 meant he was not responsible for Bain Capital companies that went bankrupt or laid off workers after that date."

This is all about this ridiculous concept that Romney was head of Bain when jobs were lost.

Who GIVES a FUCK? Seriously!

The guy made shitloads of money...in the interim, some lost their jobs, he increased revenues for the general till (read: taxes)...and some gained some jobs as well.

Who gives a fuck?

Everyone who gives a fuck is anally focused on the fact that some people lost jobs.

SO WHAT???!!!

People lose their jobs every day....others get jobs.

This guy, whether he killed 100,000 jobs and added 50,000 jobs...the jobs he lost were gonna be lost anyway.

Give it up.

I don't give a shit who wins but I'm telling you...focusing on this shit is a total waste of time.

Start a fucking business if you hate this shit so much.

Try it...it ain't so damned easy.

Not at all.  Leveraging the shit out of companies and dropping them in it, and cutting the shit out of them instead of building them and all the while saying what a great builder he was is the fucking issue.  I deal in a mans word to the tune of  ....lol, never mind.... a year, so greasy fucking shiteating dishonesty is a big dirty gamboo in my book.

Goddammit, if he said look, I made millions and fucked all sorts of people to get it, and will do the same with you, I would admire that,  but he didnt.

Thank you, thank you. thanks......for illustrating perfectly how republicans think.

I couldn`t have put it better myself.

erieangel -> RE: Romney still at Bain in 2002 (7/13/2012 6:26:49 PM)

I don't own a business, but I sure do care.

I care that the jobs lost were good paying jobs and the jobs Willard created, through Domino's Pizza, Staples, etc., are mostly minimum wage jobs.

I care that Willard has been claiming no responsibility in a company for which he was signing SEC documents and earning a pay check.

And I care that in 1998, long before Willard supposed left Bain, he invested in a company in China that relied solely on the outsourcing of jobs from the US.

I care because eliminating good paying jobs and replacing them with minimum wage jobs does not exactly make one a "job creator" in my book.

I care because by saying he had no involvement in Bain while we have his for those same years on SEC makes Willard a liar at the least, possibly a felon.

I care because what happened in 1998 does show Willard to be the pioneer in outsourcing and I really don't want the next president to be the "out sourcer in chief". Willard can not claim "I had no involvement in that" on this one.

Well, thank you for seeing, more importantly, clarifying my point.

(Good work by the way...I'll call on you in the future).

Create some jobs. See how difficult it is...the ups and downs. Carry the weight every night, not taking a salary (as most small business people do....certainly not Romney....I get it), worrying about your employees families....then tell me how easy it is, how evil those that do are.

Try it...not for a year...not even for 5....but for 10...or 30....then tell me how evil these bastards are that destroy jobs....while they age 10 years for every 3 that you take home a check, while they don't attend nights out while you do.

Stop by your bosses place at night...on weekends.

On holidays, while you're with your family.

Try it.

Then call me.

Now.......Mittens is demanding an apology from the president.......

Talk about being caught in the headlights and panicking.......

He can`t even handle this.......how`s he going to manage the country?

No wonder he won`t release his tax documents from those years.....

What is a mystery tho.....is why the cons are ok with being lied to......(well...not really a mystery)

Good luck with that apology,Mitt.

No one`s gong to back him on this one(publicly)......not even the rightist media is going to demand an apology.....

They`re going to hope Mitt STFU and that this goes away.

Mean while......we`ll wait for the apology.[:D]

farglebargle -> RE: Romney still at Bain in 2002 (7/13/2012 8:42:12 PM)

Joe Twelvepack isn't buying Willard Romney's claims that he was the CEO and Chairman of the Board yet had NOTHING to do with running the company.

Joe Twelvepack *KNOWS* that the CEO **RUNS THE COMPANY** and that the Chairman of the Board does... Well, he's not exactly sure, but it's really important....

Owner59 -> RE: Romney still at Bain in 2002 (7/13/2012 9:22:33 PM)

"but it's really important...."

No better way to point that out, than to throw down the gauntlet........... demanding an apology.

That`s the moment when the bar goes silent and everyone looks your way......[:D]

Perhaps an examination of some of the activities of Stericycle, a company bought by Bain, will explain why Romney's actions and statements appear to conflict with the record.

One of the services Stericycle offered was removal of medical waste, including aborted foetuses. Making millions from supporting the 'abortion industry' is something Romney would be keen to keep hidden from his supporters, especially those on the Religious Right. The RR has never been enthusiastic about Romney, viewing his Mormon faith with deep suspicion. It doesn't require much to understand the reaction of the Religious Right when they realise that Romney has made millions from something they regard as legalised murder. Feeling betrayed and conned, they will be livid.*

Public disclosure of the details of details of Romney's involvement with, and profits from the 'abortion industry' runs the very real risk of further antagonising a key section of his supporter base.

* Here's one reaction:
"Having protested against Stericycle in 3 different states, I'm extremely interested on the truth of this matter and not at all surprised by the allegation.
Mitt Romney's prolife "conversion" is a lie like so much of what he says.

May God forgive us for proposing such an individual to lead our nation.
