I do not have an issue with the mental chastity it is simply "security" for him. This is why I was looking at silicone. I simply cannot seem to find someone who has actually used this to give input.

We have tried the silicone one. I don't think it is any better, and it's a bit bulkier. Also, I found it difficult to keep on. When I would relax or lay down, my balls would make a run for it and it would fall off. But, I have a bit of that problem with cages, too. My balls don't hang very low. So, I have added a rubber strip to even the plastic cage to keep it secure.

But, the silicone being a bit bulkier also hangs more between the legs, which gets more in the way while running.

Just a few of my experiences.

I've found fit rather than brand is what's important. I would not let them participate in sports without ensuring fit [I would never raise a blister or bruise . . . there], plus they need to scoot in and out of the showers with a device that's not conspicuous [I've got my eyes on a glow-in-the-dark one, but camo's good for military men!]. I can't speak for marathoners, but I've had a couple of hockey players who used different types in complete comfort, but generally silicone under a jock during contact sports or a dancebelt, and a CB for home, or you've got the bucks, the German custom models are best [and look fantastic!].
