OK to begin with, this is part rant and part question - There are several questions brought up throughout this post. Not just at the end. A topic came up in another thread that is sure to get nuked - and a question came up, . Has there been a huge increase in the number of BS profiles turning up on the other side? To elaborate more on this subject, I dont normally keep my profile on view due to the number of unsolicited crap messages I receive. And theyre never good. I mean theyre just not. Not even close. Just to let everyone know - all I have posted on my profile is some pics of me (in clothing) and my profile reads: I AM JANAHX (& thats it) nothing to indicate to anything. Yes, I realize that the other side is set up as a dating site or something close to that and people are going to send mail. But its the quality/content of the mail that is disturbing. Why is it disturbing? 1. Obvious wankers that have zero social skills. - eg: calling me "little-one", You address me as SIR, telling me "good-girl", are you into younger guys?, Hi, and of course what I call the holy trinity: How big are your tits, Are you shaved, and do you do anal. Sending cock pics right off the bat - what they want to do to me. All this stupid ass shit. 2. Guys telling me that they would like to indulge in my fetish(s) but have never done it before but would like to try it with me. - In other words people not knowing what the hell theyre doing. 3. Messages from random people that just write to insult me for no reason. 4. Messages from people that have written to me MULTIPLE times from the same account/user name wanting to get to know me, but yet seem to have no memory of ever written before. 5. Cyber stalkers - where Ive told them to fuck off and they just go nutso and wont stop messaging me - using socks to dodge the blocks. 6. Guys that live in another part of the world and seem to think that I have all the time and money in the world to "make it happen" with them. - category: not realistic- because chances are they are not a multi-millionaire that can jetset themselves or me from country to country . Let alone buy me out of my job for the time required to be doing that kind of thing. 7. Mistaken me for a free escort that wants to go and meet some random /faceless man at some hotel for sex. or Drive by Doms that are "just passing through Houston" Now to be fair, I have met quite a few people in r/l from the other side. Some here in Houston, some flew in from other states. Some flew me there. Some of the relationships worked out, most did not. I even was relocated by someone I met from over there (being the other side of CM) and lived with him for quite a few years. We are the best of friends to this day. Yes, I have met some wicked cool people from here. But they seem to get further and fewer in between. And I guess thats where the question arose asked by another poster - Has there been a huge increase in the number of BS profiles turning up on the other side? I first joined up in 2008. Under another user name - I eventually made a new profile (JanahX) in 2010 after my ltr with my first Dom ended. And I guess I dont remember it being that whacko over there. Maybe its my memory - maybe not. But I dont think Ive read so many whacked out profiles in my life. Today I did some profile browsing - which sometimes I do, mostly not - and had my browser settings set to "Dominant Males" All other settings were set at open. I was shaking my head at what I was I was reading. Can we say FANTASY LAND? I would say one out of every ten profiles even had a HINT of realistic expectations written in them. And whats crazy, is that I think that most of these guys are SERIOUS. I cant speak as to the quality the other browser settings such as Domme/male sub/etc. brings in, but is it me or has the site gotten really whacko? I mean it was always whacko - but I am like talking really really whacko -like comparatively in years past so? Maybe its just the increase of # of users - Idk. I just dont remember it being this weird before. And before theres the barrage of Yeah - well its a free site - a question arises, do sites that people pay for this kind (bdsm sites) of thing bring up the quality of context? Does anyone know? Thoughts? What are you getting when you venture over there? What do you see? Has the site changed much over the years - (in people quality that is.) WHATS UP PEOPLE? whats goin' onnnnnn?

As a man, I don't get the thousands of messages that women do. But I've noticed a lot more fake female profiles (by fake I mean an obvious stolen pic, and some meandering about nothing in particular, which is a hallmark of a scammer profile) in the last two weeks. As far as your DimDom messages go, could it be that school let out?

I signed up in 2007 and I think the only differences between then and now are: 1) The photos are no longer moderated, so we get the lovely genital shots we never had to view before; and 2) The scammers were marginally less obvious because it required fewer reports to remove them. Or at least it seems it did, I could have a selective memory on that score. Otherwise, nope, exactly the same quality as when I signed up. After ripping one of the "quality" sub guys who randomly messaged me to request I fulfill his laundry list of fetishes, complete with cock shot, the message I received back was "I don't bother to read profiles. If you're not interested, just delete."

I dont know about the number of BS profiles going up but I have experienced an increase in BS messages from people on my old profile and on this current one. I have put up mail filters for those who are apparently illiterate to stop their messages from reaching my inbox. Even though my profile name is "Dre's property" in all one word other dominant men and masters deemed it appropriate to send me crude messages with pics of their genitals~even though my profile clearly states Im owned by my Master and Im looking for friends only. Now its my bulk folder that is filling up and I delete all those messages without reading them.

Equal parts amusing, frustrating & scary. Amusing: I have met a few very interesting people. Whether they are funny or highly intelligent or just enjoyable to talk to, they are keepers. But these ones are few & far between. The forums help, because mostly everyone up here (no P&R) are pretty awesome. Frustrating: Insta-Doms; poor grammar; don't read my profile and see I'm clearly taken; submissive males messaging me to stomp their balls or some other fetish. Scary: I've had 3 "Doms" become moderately obsessed with me. One was a veteran on disability that lived in SoCal and desperately wanted me to go down there and visit him so we could play. Its pretty fucking weird isnt it. Maybe Ive just wisened up over the years. I dont know. But I cant stand it anymore over there. I had my profile open for the first time in months for a few hours the other day. I had some guy send me FIVE cock shots. My eyes needed bleach afterwards. I can't say if it has changed over the years since I only joined in April of 2011 but there are lots of fake and scammer type profiles on the other side.But it isn't a CM problem,it's a internet problem and if you are seriously looking you weed through them and try focusing on the diamonds hidden amongst the plain rocks.And it is not just a free site problem,although the amount does seem greater on the free sites.

I decided last year to just keep my profile up and amuse myself. I am startled at how many people look at my pictures (none of which are of me) and read my journal. I even get comments on my profile text! That's an absolute change from years ago. My settings are set to "everyone in Michigan aged 35-55". I hide everyone that pops up that is an EW. Did you know there's no limit to how many people you can hide? Most of the red letter names are after money or trinkets. Of the rest (many of whom I know personally) the profiles are filled with regret and irritation. Everyone else? Lots of seriously delusional people if their profiles are to be believed. Perhaps they're confused about where they are? Perhaps there's some sort of secret code that no one's gotten me the decoder ring for. The attitude of entitlement has skyrocketed everywhere, along with the aggression and sensitivity to 'attack'. How do these fragile blooms get through a day at the office? It's been my blessing to fall in with the best people everywhere I go, and this place and Fetl have been no exception. The increase in noise has actually made that easier, since 'my sort' are easy to see against the background. There's an awful lot of noise.
