ORIGINAL: ClassIsInSession Einstein didn't finish high school- I suppose we should ignore his contribution to physics. A myth, not even really a partial truth. In late summer 1895, at the age of sixteen, Einstein sat the entrance examinations for the Swiss Federal Polytechnic in Zurich (later the Eidgenössische Polytechnische Schule). He failed to reach the required standard in several subjects, but obtained exceptional grades in physics and mathematics.[20] On the advice of the Principal of the Polytechnic, he attended the Aargau Cantonal School in Aarau, Switzerland, in 1895-96 to complete his secondary schooling. In September 1896, he passed the Swiss Matura with mostly good grades (including a top grade of 6 in physics and mathematical subjects, on a scale of 1-6),[23] and, though only seventeen, enrolled in the four-year mathematics and physics teaching diploma program at the ETH Zurich. In 1900, Einstein was awarded the Zurich Polytechnic teaching diploma. On 30 April 1905, Einstein completed his thesis, with Alfred Kleiner, Professor of Experimental Physics, serving as pro-forma advisor. Einstein was awarded a PhD by the University of Zurich. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Albert_Einstein#Early_life_and_education Let us not permit immaterial facts stand in the way of reason. Discrimination takes many forms. Even liberals can have a superiority complex. Logic is not concerned with facts. It is concerned with validity. Immaterial facts? Rather, you're dismissing very material facts to stand in the way of reason, preferring the fantasy to valid conclusions. You're a side show.
