ORIGINAL: TheHeretic We had been planning to see the film with my folks this afternoon, but they have backed out. Dad has decided he isn't going to see it at all. It's nothing to do with security worries, but recent events have killed his taste for it. We are still going, and still breaking the usual rule about opening weekend. What are your thoughts on the connection between the film, and the attack in Colorado? Has anyone else changed their minds about seeing it? Will anyone who wouldn't have bothered, now see it in a tribute to the victims? I'm a Batfan. I'm going to see Batman. I'm not changing the course of the way I live life because of some coward with a gun. It has nothing to do with paying tribute to anyone. I noted their names - they are sitting right next to my computer. I know of the two Alex's. .and John and Jon and all the rest .. I didn't bother to learn the name of the coward. When I look down and see Veronica's name on my little yellow pad, my eyes burn for a second and then I keep typing or clicking or doing whatever I'm doing when I'm sitting at the computer. In time, I'll probably throw that sheet of paper away.. might be in a week or a month.. I'm not sure. I didn't know these people.. but, they were Batfan's, too.. so, for now, they sit by my computer. That's it. Not much.. but it's what I did and what I'm doing and, for me, it's enough.
