omg, Phoenix, I am SO getting a visual there! *laughs*

Yep, my colleague, who started after me, left to the end of july, cause he couldnt cope anymore, after they took away his hat to play with it[8|] they would tell him [:D] and have a massive dictionary of words available [:)]

JhonP -> RE: New Master in the house (7/29/2012 6:46:07 AM)

What you have encountered is consistent with their way is the only way.

I've been on this site a few weeks and during that time have read many previous posts and a few of the current postings without thoughts other then their demonstraiting collective insecurity and attempting to impose its short falls.

Dismiss what is said or use of it what you will but remember with 30 years of experience you are for the most part speaking with rank armatures.

GreedyTop -> RE: New Master in the house (7/29/2012 6:49:05 AM)

well, with 30 yrs experience, one would think he could tell the difference between male and female.

just sayin.

myotherself -> RE: New Master in the house (7/29/2012 6:49:46 AM)

You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you believe it means.

GreedyTop -> RE: New Master in the house (7/29/2012 6:53:33 AM)

I can't believe I missed that, Steven!!

myotherself -> RE: New Master in the house (7/29/2012 6:54:48 AM)

Although I've worked with armatures in my earlier professional life, I don't think I ever used a rank armature...[8|]

This...is....comical.

Really.

There is no, "our way is the only way" here.

The ironic part is that the OP thinks the FORUM holds some type protocol. We are all equals, no matter the orientation or experience level.

Him being a leatherman with his 30 years of experience has no bearing to somebody like me, who has not one bit of interest in leather- aside from some of my clothes being made from it. I have respect for it, but he has no rank over me in that regard.

Also, you may want to notice that the OP has essentially accused all of us as doing things the wrong way. Kind of ironic when paired up with your first sentence.

Armatures that smell?
how curious

There is no my way... I suppose social relativity might feel threatening to certain individuals who hold a particular traditional construct, but fuck it, I have always been iconoclastic and I doubt that I will change for anyone, regardless of their title.

Also, things are different in different contexts, as an army captain found out coming into my office to try to intimidate me when I was in my mid-twenties and he was informed that I felt that in the army he was probably very impressive but in my world he was just a man in a funny costume that needed a signed release or a court subpoena. Fifty shades of red... but the hospital's legal team back me up.

To be honest, I don't feel much loyalty to any collective, though I have made a few friends... and in person, if you approached me with "Call Me Master" I probably would not have been as polite as here to tell you to go fuck yourself.

ChatteParfaitt -> RE: New Master in the house (7/29/2012 6:57:59 AM)

I've been doing some jewelry design, and I *have* worked with rank armatures.

So okay, the design concept was flawed.

GreedyTop -> RE: New Master in the house (7/29/2012 7:00:42 AM)

I'm sorry, Chatte, but I literally just *snort*ed....

I anticipated nothing less than a barrage of blundering attempts to justify what you are hopeful of imposing.

How very predictable and easily manipulated.

There are some that will argue that " there is no one twue way" is the ONE TWUE WAY
Bit like being intolerant of intolerance [:D]

well, since this site is obviously so distasteful to you, don't let the door hit ya, and don't forget to ask for your refund!

btw, in case you hadn't noticed (which you haven't or are ignoring), those of the folks you are disparaging have not ever claimed their way was the TWUE way, unlike the OP you are so vigorously attempting to defend...

Love the trolls and their LOLs for a minute, they think they're all that and 5 bags of chips...

Actually Jhon, we are not imposing, or even hopeful of imposing. This forum has a long history of not accepting high protocol from rank armatures, um excuse me, rank newbies. That someone likes or prefers high protocol is of course their right. What is NOT their right is to attempt to impose it on others.

To say that our desire to have everyone who posts here treated as an equal (unless or until they show their own stupidity) is in some way "demonstrating collective insecurity" is utter nonsense.

In effect you just said, my desire to be treated as an equal expresses my insecurity. Want to back that up with something other than hyperbole?

MissAsylum -> RE: New Master in the house (7/29/2012 7:18:47 AM)

imposing what?

I am not interested in leather.
I will respect what he does in and for the leather community.
It does not impact my life in any way, and I address him as such.

Your argument is pointless.

Exactly.

Jhon, I wish I could see your point, but you really backed yourself into a corner with your own logic.

Jhon, please speak English. MissA is trying to convince Roy that he cannot mosey here, state he has thirty years of experience, and impose his own protocol on our system.

They're not blundering attempts. No blunders at all. I'll grant you that, until Roy figures it out, they will have to be merely attempts, though.

Predictable? Yep, anyone who comes here without proper etiquette is told of it.

Easily manipulated? Who, and by what? You're not making sense.
