I have always found a brilliant mind a huge turn on, while I doubt ~most~ guys would prefer that, I think I'd rather find one who did and wanted me in spite of my ugliness than the other way around.

More guys like it than the general populace seems aware. I've seen a number of comments recently about smart subs and Dom preferences.

My girl is smart (smarter than she acknowledges) and I find her very appealing.

I chose moderately smart / moderately ugly. It's like this. Average looking people become more attractive when you talk to them. Beautiful, stupid people just become duds. I'd rather have some upward mobility possibility, thank you very much.

Until Korea, I never had a problem having a man if I wanted one. I don't know whether it was a cultural thing / age thing / weight thing (my thyroid meds were off and I gained 30 pounds), but since I've been here it's only been recently I've felt attractive. And now with the powerful MOJO SCHMEXY SMART SMOKING HOT rays that I'm sending out even the young 'uns (20's) are approaching me. What do those buggers see in ME?

Today I was listening to Chris Rock. He cleared it up for me.

I picked moderately smart, moderately ugly. I really want to believe that's what I would choose, if I could.

Smart but ugly as sin, all the way...

It's the human mind that fascinates me, not what's covering it

besides if worst comes to worst I can always build myself a robot army...

I am already smart and I like my looks, so thank goodness I don't have to choose.

That is the premisse of Piers Anthony's first Xanth novel: A spell for Chameleon.

I recommend reading them all.

Let's say... you can become smarter but only by getting uglier. Do you do it? What about getting more attractive by becoming dumber?

Pam

You just described the aging process.

The problem is that I think that I'm smarter than I really am, so I'd like to get some extra looks out of it by swapping out brains I don't really have...

I'd be smarter, but uglier.

Beauty's in the eyes of the beholder, etc etc etc.

Too bad you can't swap brains for good nature and humility, you'd be all set.

Compare the number of retail units, online and elsewhere, devoted to fashion and beauty to those devoted to improving knowledge such as bookshops and you'll get your philosophical answer.
