UllrsIshtar -> RE: why do slaves/subs submit to a Dominant and then they do a turnabout (8/3/2012 2:52:41 PM)

Do you realize that just giving them orders, and expecting them to carry out the orders does NOT equal dominating somebody? Seriously, if it did, then s-types wouldn't need D/s relationships, they could just get jobs instead. If you are telling them you're a Mistress, they're going to expect you to actual DOMINATE them. Not just tell them what to do and call them a bad s-type if they don't, or are unhappy. So if you find that s-types keep running from you, step back, and ask yourself: "Am I just being a bossy bitch who expects to be obeyed, without providing the guidance, leadership and dominance that would make me worthy of being obeyed over the next person?" ETA: There are very few people out there that submit in a vacuum and don't need to have the D-type to actively create dominant energy for them to obey. Those people do exist though, and are generally referred to as doormats by a lot of people. If it's a doormat you're looking for, be honest about that, and focus your search on them. Although it's my experience that even doormats seem to prefer D-types whom actual dominate them when given the chance.
