wiccandomme -> Looking for a good key logger (8/8/2012 11:56:45 PM)

My slave admitted to doing things shes not allowed to when im not home I can install a good key logger so that she cant turn on her computer with out me knowing but at this point its not enough i want one that will turn on her webcam as well and record that as well which i know might be tricky after the stuff with school systems doing it so im at a little bit of a loss

Kana -> RE: Looking for a good key logger (8/9/2012 12:01:21 AM)

Or you could, you know, trust her-both to try and abstain on her own and to turn herself in if and/or when she fails to comply.
And if ya can't trust her, why would you want her as a slave, much less a relationship partner?

SpaceSpank -> RE: Looking for a good key logger (8/9/2012 6:52:01 AM)

In addition to the above. You didn't specify WHAT she's doing.

If it's porn/online gaming/gambling or similar, she may have an addiction that she is simply incapable of breaking on her own. Installing a keylogger and remote webcam software would do nothing to remedy that, and could make the situation much worse.

RemoteUser -> RE: Looking for a good key logger (8/9/2012 6:53:41 AM)

People invest thousands of dollars for legitimate software that does exactly what you describe to PROTECT their systems, not to monitor the systems users. For that you need a 24/7 security camera, which would be cheaper anyhow.

Do you feel you need to protect yourself from your slave? Does she need (or want) to be protected from herself? Bear in mind what you are trying to accomplish here; if this is meant to replace trust, don't do it. Trust is given and accepted, not forced. No one can force trust by enforcing rules. They simply are not the same thing.

wiccandomme -> RE: Looking for a good key logger (8/9/2012 11:54:40 AM)

its nothing about trust she openly admitted to playing with herself a couple times since the rule was made that she cant with out permission i think it would make for an interesting session to be able to get in her head that i can know what shes doing even when im not home

Kana -> RE: Looking for a good key logger (8/9/2012 12:00:13 PM)

Hmmm, I prefer gals who do things out of a desire to please, not because they're afraid I'm watching.
I see that lil difference as being massive in the grand scheme of things...

In other words, we have some cool little funishment scene going on here rather than an actual attempt at behavior modification. I'm good with that. I don't personally know any keylogger recommendations but I know (amazingly enough) marriage sites tend to talk about them a lot as a useful strategy for when you think your spouse is cheating on you. Try talkaboutmarriage.com or somesuch. Just don't clarify why you want the keylogger... tell them you think your wife is cheating. They'll have solid recommendations (in a sick and twisted sort of way).

Personally, I think you'd do bettter with the remote security camera idea. She'll know when the webcam comes on. But if she doesn't even have a clue that the security cam exists then it'll totally baffle her. Of course, you also leave yourself open to some really seriously nasty hurtful and well deserved charges of invasion of privacy if you are misjudging her mental state.

Brutalessons -> RE: Looking for a good key logger (8/9/2012 1:19:28 PM)

Google "Majorgeeks" have lots of user reviewed products covering just about everythin Most or much of it free. The application you seek is available in a couple types, the one with all the bells and whistles about 70 bucks and not only does what you described, is actually motion sensitive and can relay the info directly to your own comp.

Edited to secify this is in response to OP. sorry jeff

SpaceSpank -> RE: Looking for a good key logger (8/9/2012 1:21:13 PM)

Get one of the web enabled cams and leave the it on, set it up with an externally available web page that has all the security options set (username &password that are NOT factory defaults, non standard port, no guest access, etc).

That way you can browse to the site at any time, log in, and see what is going on, most have a built in mic so you can hear as well. The good ones you can even pan/tilt/zoom the camera.

Of course all she needs to do is unplug it or cover it (same with a security cam) and you can't see shit. And you would probably need to check the cam itself to see if there is any way to have it auto run on reboot in case the pc crashes, there's a power outage, or she just reboots the pc.

Seeing the webcam on means far less when it is always on.

BambiBoi -> RE: Looking for a good key logger (8/9/2012 2:08:19 PM)

Key Grabbers all run $135-200. I find them unethical and indicative of poor communication. (And yes, the cost of my advice is my judgment. Or $5).

JeffBC -> RE: Looking for a good key logger (8/9/2012 2:23:46 PM)

@SpaceSpank:
Good point on the "always on" feature.

@BambiBoi:
This exact conversation just game up between Carol, myself, and one of our few M/s couple friends here. In both cases we're looking at something pretty reasonably "TPE". I found it fascinating that all 4 of us, despite the differences in our basic relationships, our D/s dynamics, and our side of the kneel all saw it exactly the same way.

If I wanted to spy on Carol because I felt like spying on Carol because that seemed like a fun thing to do then that it is my right and neither of us would think much of it. If, on the other hand, I was ACTUALLY trying to spy on her in order to learn some vital piece of information then that was a creepy invasion of privacy -- even though we all struggled a bit at the idea that the "slave" should have something called "privacy".

Totally agree with this.

My husband has my macbook set up in such a way that he's the administrator. He have full remote control desk top privileges, so can always look into what I'm doing. He can also take over my system, and make changes I can't. The most annoying thing he can do is lock my desktop remotely... usually with some cute [8|] little message like "nuff CollarChat, bj time instead" when I'm in the middle of writing up a post.

However, he has all this set up because he happens to be a control freak and an uber geek at the same time. Which makes it fun for him and *cough* tolerable for me... if he had it set up because he genuinely didn't trust me with my laptop then A) it wouldn't be fun and B) I wouldn't have access to the laptop period.

JeffBC -> RE: Looking for a good key logger (8/9/2012 3:48:40 PM)

I have to admit that I'm fascinated by how wide spread the agreement is on this point even though it's more than a bit murky.

Carol & Jeff: Basically ex-vanilla couple. No contract. No big whoop-de-do M/s thing. No real, obvious, BDSM at all.
Other Friends: Strongly age separated, contract based, BDSM-by-the-book, temporary couple.
Ish & Hubby: ROFL... let's see... The ex-gorean chick and the poor guy who got saddled with her.

I'm intrigued by the fact that it isn't exactly the right to privacy that is the problem. Carol wouldn't feel invasively spied upon in her own home if I were to setup a bunch of video cameras and record her every move. She would react strongly, however, to the trust & honor issues depending on the reasons I chose to do so.

Hey hey hey there... [8D] aside from the fact that I'm technically not ex-Gorean because as a kajira I was never considered Gorean, because a slave cannot "own" that identity and thus not claim it for themselves; I'm also technically not ex-Gorean because I've never walked away from any of the values, ideals, or philosophies I had back then, and am thus, as Gorean as I've even been... even though I've never claimed to be Gorean at all.
Whatever the part in my that may or may not be called Gorean will be there forever, because the Gorean concentric circle model of ethics is the foundation of my personal moral system and my code of conduct in relationship to everything I do. Even more so, in the process of reclaiming my freedom my Home Stone found me, which I'll never give up again for (hopefully) obvious reasons; and my husband and I have had a full year of Free Companionship (oddly overlapping with our legal, immigration pressured marriage) before I felt ready to become his wife and commit to him indefinitely.

As far as him being the poor guy saddled with her... you're totally right about that. He's even so desperate about it he recently started reading the books because apparently my view on ethics and morality make more sense to him that the Western systems he was brought up under. I corrupt everything I touch. [sm=modxiiswatching.gif]

Spoken like a true Gorean. Which is largely why I don't think I'm smart enough to be Gorean. Heck, reading that quote, I'm not entirely positive that I'm smart enough to NOT be a Gorean. I might be too stupid to be either in or out.

He has my undying sympathy. Feel free to relay that to him.

LadyPact -> RE: Looking for a good key logger (8/9/2012 4:08:55 PM)

If you and the hubby would ever have a mind to, I'd love to hear more about that, Ishtarr. While not in a dynamic between us, MP and I hit some differences between Me being leather and him not. I'm sure we can not be the only folks that come from different backgrounds or lifestyle preferences to make that work. It could be an interesting discussion.

UllrsIshtar -> RE: Looking for a good key logger (8/9/2012 4:14:09 PM)

That would be interesting, though you'll have to start the thread when you want it.
I don't start threads anymore, it never seems to work out the way I had intended. Instead I've just resigned to being the snotty bitch that kills them.
