Look, Kerry didn't lose thanks to swift boat ads. He lost because he had absolutely no charisma. Obama won because he had charisma and is a likeable fellow if you don't know his politics. The bad part for Obama is everyone is aware of his politics now and know what he's all about.

Obama is going down, there's no doubt about it. You can sense the desperation. Just like McCain said during the 2008 campaign that Obama would say anything to get elected, he will also say anything to get reelected.

I saw a yahoo poll today that said 47% approved of Ryan and thought he would help Romney. About 24% said he would hurt his campaign. 38% didn't know Ryan well enough yet to make a decision.

I recall Mcgramps was running around screaming like a little girl.....begging the president to suspend the campaign.....

And the president was cool and calm and won the election.....getting the most votes in American history......

And then there was John begging Dave for forgiveness....

Better him than Mitt. I"m not turning cartwheels for Obama, either.

Now Obama is the incumbent President, polling against a republican nominee that could not convince the republican base he was legit, and yet the incumbent President is only leading by 4.1... Who's in trouble here?

Actually, Romney. Obama is in the exact same situation as Bush was in his reelection campaign, and has chosen to follow the same tactic of demolishing his opposition. Just like Bush did when he Swift Boated Kerry, Obama has pulled Romney down with Bain and the tax returns.

Obama will reattack Romney with both, but will attack Ryan in Florida with the push-Granny-off-the-cliff ads.

And to refine what you said, all that matters is the likely voters in the swing states. We know what will happen in Alaska, the South, Idaho, and Utah. We also know what will happen in New York, California, and Oregon. We need to know Florida, Virginia, Ohio, and Pennsylvania.

Romney has chosen Ryan.

Ryan advocated for the privatization of Social Security in 2004, imagine how that would have worked had BUSH been able to implement it?

According to the New Yorker's profile of Ryan, he's a different kind of Republican b/c he thinks its irresponsible to criticize and harp on the Democrats without presenting an alternative plan. Implicit in the article is that a large swath or Republicans don't believe in solutions and proposals, they believe in running against "stuff" and bringing home earmarks to their own Congressional districts.

Ryan has rejected every bipartisan proposal for deficit reduction and the proposals of the National Commission on Fiscal Responsibility and Reform.

He draws his inspiration from Atlas Shrugged. A formative event in his life was the death of his father at about age 60, he died in his bed and Ryan found him there when he didn't to go work. At the time Ryan was a teenager.

I was wondering.......no worries.

The economy was shitty during Bush I's last coupla years. We had a recession. then in 89, things started improving and did really well till '01.
Not crediting or blaming anyone, just reporting history.

I think you may have typoed here?

Bush I was inaugurated in Jan '89. Clinton was inaugurated in Jan '93

Clinton ran a campaign, largely backed by the MSM based on "It's the economy, stupid". It was credited with being a master stroke!

The media didn't start saying "Oooops! We made a mistake. There HAS been some recovery" until about a week or so after the NOV '92 elections.

Peace and comfort,

Michael

Meh, 1) They polled registered voters, not likely voters, and 2) they were taken before Romney selected Ryan. 3) RCP has Obama up by 4.1, or a statistical error.

Ooooooooh Likely voters... yeah ... Lemme offer you a clue pal... All those indys and dems you thought weren't going vote JUST BECAME "LIKELY VOTERS".
It's kinda sad to watch you guys staggering around not even realize you've been thrown in the pet carrier on top of the bus, about to go for a long trip to NOWHERE.

tip - Don't shit yourself, cause all the Romneys will do is pull into a gas station and hit ya with the hose... or so Seamus' Memoirs read.

Thanks for treating us to your rendition of "Comfortably Numb" ... I still like the version Roger Waters version better though.

Obama was chosen by the banks for a second term looooong ago. It's why the Republican Party is trying so hard to prevent Ron Paul from winning the nomination - because he'd kick Obama's ass. It has to be Romney, so that Obama wins a second term.

Does this post win the title of 'Greatest number of conspiracy theories in a single paragraph ever'?

I'm missing how that's supposed to be a 'gotchya' moment I'd vote for guy who ate a dog before I'd vote for a guy who routinely swallows Koch Brothers' cum.

Dunno if that link was posted yet. Looks like Romney has broken quite a few rules and laws lately.

The money is from AMERICANS living abroad & travelling to Israel with Romney, Obama, Bush, Clinton Bush Sr all did the same thing.

mnottertail -> RE: New Polls Show Romney In Deep Trouble (8/14/2012 1:36:49 PM)

Makes you wonder why monday the Supreme court issued a terse statement reaffirming the illegality of accepting money from foreign sources from a 2011 decision, just out of the blue, for no reason, like that, cuz they didnt have a fucking other thing in the world to do sort of thing so its pretty common for those sorts of things to happen thing maybe whatever couldnt possibly be Willards Watergate or anything having nothing to do with their statement.

What is the supreme court hiding?  Where is the convict Issa when you need him to investigate real stuff, to get the truth to the american people?

I wonder how much Al Qaeda donated to Romney's campaign. Any numbers in yet?

I am sure that many of their remaining members feel they owe St. Wrinklemeat a debt of gratitude for giving them WMD and that if they can help Romney get elected they can get Obama off their back.

THAT IS AS PREPOSTEROUS AS ANY POSTING YOU HAVE EVER MADE. When's he go out to summer stock and wait tables to get his Rich Friends to tip generously as an encore? ... Americans abroad [image]http://www.smileyvault.com/albums/userpics/13622/SIGN_lies.gif[/image]
At the Jerusalem fund raiser they showed on the news almost two weeks ago, I guess all the guys getting out of Limos in bernooses were just dressing to please.

Course if it's as open to the public as his tax returns were, we'd need the seal team six to get the financial records from those little shindigs.
