I skimmed through the posts with popped eyes O_O

I don't understand why you are concerned about what goes on in Egypt. Is it just for Israel's safety or is there something else?

I'm Egyptian and let me tell you that most of what the western media tells you about us is either exaggerated or false.

There are problems in Egypt no doubt…but…so far at least I see a reasonably inclusive democratic governing.

Time will tell of course but until they prove otherwise we should support the democratically elected government.

If we truly support democracy throughout the world then we should be prepared to deal with governments and their people that disagree with us and try to find ways to settle problems without threats of military intervention.

Democracy or not if they prove to be a threat to their neighbors then we may have to deal with them differently but until then guidance and respect for their elected government is the best course to follow.

After reading through this thread, I am just SO happy that so many support this.

Does this mean that you support crucifixion in the USA? Because I have a little list.

Compared to the other half's list, yes it is "little."

I don't think so.

No, actually. I am not that solicitous of his soul.

slvemike4u -> RE: Muslim Brotherhood Take Egypt (8/17/2012 8:08:31 PM)

Did the "other half" make you privy to their list ?
How else can you make such a comparison ?

Yes. And why wouldn't he? It isn't like we don't talk.

Pretty easy. I cannot give you exact numbers, but in conversation I can tell that his list is longer.

slvemike4u -> RE: Muslim Brotherhood Take Egypt (8/17/2012 9:11:15 PM)

Sorry,I took the "other half" to be a partisan reference,my bad....lol
By the way....glad you two are still talking lol

I took a peep at this site. It seems to be a Christian fundamentalist site. The funniest part was a piece on "affirmative action based on sexual proclivities", a daring expose of how Obama is appointing (shock! horror!) openly GLBT people, which is not only (gasp!) sinful but taken in tandem with Obama's "intentional destruction"* of the US economy is going to lead to the downfall of the USA and All That We Hold Sacred blah blah blah.....I found it all quite amusing but, fortunately, I don't have to live in the same country as the lunatics who produced this trash.

Keeping up with events in the Middle East is luadable. If you really want to know what is happening there, best to avoid propaganda sites like this one. There's heaps of reputable media sources out there that are far better at keeping their readers fully informed on events in that part of the world.

* Yes believe it or not, that's what they claimed. Just in case you think I am putting some spin on it, here's the full sentence: " In fact, it [affirmative action for sexual minorities] may be the most dangerous of all policies pushed by Barack Obama – and I include his intentional destruction of the economy among those." Sadly it failed to offer a reason why the POTUS would deliberately destroy the US economy

WND is right in there with brietbart, boortz, freebeacon  and other teabagger blogs.

ain't nothing on those sites going to coincide with any realities in our milleniums.

Sanity -> RE: Muslim Brotherhood Take Egypt (8/18/2012 8:08:09 AM)

Despite the usual far left attack the messenger mindlessness the message is the real issue, and the WND sourced the information inn a responsible manner and provided links within the article to Middle Eastern journalists reports from within Egypt

mnottertail -> RE: Muslim Brotherhood Take Egypt (8/18/2012 8:41:10 AM)

where they are destroying the pyramids, according to the same reseach heavy and excruciatingly minute analysation of the facts sorta site.

Here's a quote from one of those 'sources':
" Sky News, which was first to report about the crucifixions, has taken down its original article (though the URL still appears in the address box with the Arabic words “protesters-crucified-in front of-egypt’s-presidential-palace”).

While one may argue that Sky News removed the article because it was found false, one can equally argue that it censored itself for fear that it would be next in the terror campaign against the media." (my emphasis)
http://www.algemeiner.com/2012/08/16/muslim-brotherhood-crucifies-opponents-attacks-secular-media/

If that is what is considered "responsible" reporting as opposed to straight out fear-mongering, it's no wonder that the site's more gullible readers are babbling on about the destruction of the pyramids. Speaking of which, how is the destruction of the pyramids coming along Sanity? You still haven't shared the date of their destruction with us, despite many and repeated requests.

Yup. Even when the "source" itself declares the report to be false, neocons still believe it to be 'true' for no better reason than they want it to be true.

The scary thing is that some people actually rely on such lies and drivel for their information, thinking and opinions.

So sad.

As long as the pyramids are okay, the crucifixions are hunky-dory!

Glad to know that.

Musicmystery -> RE: Muslim Brotherhood Take Egypt (8/18/2012 2:48:38 PM)

Yup, that's exactly what I said! Wow, you're insightful. Are you in Mensa?

Have we established for sure that the crucifixions actually happened? When I Google "Egypt crucifixion" (and I've tried at intervals over several hours now), I don't get links to anything I recognize as a news source. I would have guessed that literal crucifixions in 2012 would be a big story. I went to Sky News, which was cited in a previous post as a possible source, but i didn't see anything about this there.
