Making a suggestion would be contacting management or an admin and saying "I have an idea". Not posting it to a public forum, where the mods are not even the same as the other side.

i've lost count of how many threads have been used to suggest new things or improvements. the only time they're disparaged is when the OP is newish and regulars decide they need to feel superior.

and to use your own reasoning, if he wished to "dictate" anything to the mods, then he certainly would contact them, and not merely post it as a suggestion.

I really think people are just tired of this suggestion coming up. It comes up every week. Every. Single. Week. No matter how polite it starts, the OP eventually makes it known that they have a dislike of Pros. It gets bothersome. Kinda like how it gets bothersome whenever someone decides to play internet psychologist.

There ya go again, trying to tell someone else what they're thinking or feeling.

i'm adult enough to admit when i'm sorta wrong and you're sorta right - i DID give my opinion on what someone else was thinking or feeling, mea culpa on that. but dude, this is a discussion board, get the F over yourself. i can't think of what baggage makes you twist someone giving their opinion on a board into them "telling" someone else how they're feeling.

and ooo ooo ooo Mr Kotter (my tribute to R's death), you sorta disingenuously forgot the rest of the reply, where i showed that you were fulla shit, and the OP wasn't "dictating" anything to anyone. and you fergot to answer why, if you didn't have a need to feel superior, that you thought it wasn't shitty and was instead okay to shit on new guy OP for having the nerve to make suggestions and participate.

I wouldn't be for the identifier, I am a pro-Domme, but I am so much more than that.

meh, no excuse for shitting on OP for it. also, if it's that tiresome, then it follows one simply wouldn't engage OP at all.

re dislike of pros - oh well, who the fuck cares of some person on the net doesn't like pros, fuck em', or don't, ignore em, or don't

re internet psychologists - see first sentence of my reply. and also, remember you're on a discussion board. can't have it both ways. OP gets to offer his suggestions. some people will choose to shit on OP for various reasons. i get to call them on it. and you get to...now, what was your point again? [:)]

you say as you compound the hijack. was your personal attack meant to be taken in jest?

MissImmortalPain -> RE: Pro Domme Identifier (8/14/2012 2:41:56 PM)

I would like to point out that no one answered my question (they never do) and that it actually was on topic.

Then I would like to ask you something Karmastic and this is not intended to start an arguement. I think you made a good point a second ago. The point being "oh well, who the fuck cares of some person on the net doesn't like pros, fuck em', or don't, ignore em, or don't" <couldn't this very same thing be said about any given poster? I mean unless this OP is your little bro, cousin, boyfriend, etc. and you are asking us to all be nice because we know you don't we each have the right based on what he posts to decide how we will react to him, if we will like him, etc?

stef -> RE: Pro Domme Identifier (8/14/2012 2:42:13 PM)

I attacked no one.

The reason that the 'suggestions' are not met with thunderous applause is because there are problems with implementing them, or having them be fair to all users. The reason that there are soooo many threads that are disparaged on this subject is not because people jump on a bandwagon to puff up egos, or wish to run the noob out of town, or even because it's old news....the reason the threads are discredited is because there is never a suggestion that is usable. Surely you can see that if you've read even a handful of the threads you are referencing.

Sure, I'd be for a Pro Domme identifier if it could be implemented without costing me the use of a free site and it would be a positive addition to the site for everyone. There are a host of problems involved with this idea and none of them to this day have been solved, therefore I'd have to say it's the SOS - different day.

thanks. and i'm sorry, but i don't think i really get your question, but I'll try to answer, then i need to attend to my little friend (no, not my penis [:)])

yes, the same can be said about any poster. i don't expect anyone to be nice to anyone. all should react and be themselves. part of that, which we all do on discussion boards, is comment on each others opinions. they get to be what you're calling mean to OP, and i get to comment on it.

telling someone they have personal issues, and that this is causing a thread to derail is a personal attack in my book. that you deny it speaks volumes.

everything you said is golden, and i don't disagree! i think you're blowing my intent out of proportion a bit. simply put, there's a big diff between thunderous applause (which i don't expect for anyone), and just choosing to not be a jackass about how you treat someone who apparently has very good intentions (like making suggestions, however tiresome or unrealistic they are, which i also agreed they are unrealistic).

sorry gotta go fer now, little ones at bay.

And I want to by pass all the married men, wankers, and basement dwellers. Can we implement that right away?

When you can barely make it through a post without mentioning someone's supposed "need to feel superior" and you even mention it in your sig, it's obvious that it's a personal issue for you. Mentioning that is not an attack.

MissImmortalPain -> RE: Pro Domme Identifier (8/14/2012 3:04:59 PM)

I do not believe that you really think everyone should be able to voice their opinion. If you did then you would not have made the other thread. But this statement like all others I make on these boards is just my opinion and anyone who wants to is welcome to ignore it and go one with their day.

And, because I'm just going to keep asking, if a filter were in place to weed out pros then what would happen to those that are like me (both pro and lifestyle) ?

I vote for that! And since presumably all these categories would be self identifying, how would we get people to use them again?

And that is one of the things that pops up at every instance that someone wants this identifying feature. It's always the same suggestions that come up with the same problems on implementation. If the problem was solvable, I do think it would have been solved by now.

Whenready -> RE: Pro Domme Identifier (8/14/2012 3:39:41 PM)

MissImmortalPain: I would like to point out that no one answered my question (they never do) and that it actually was on topic.

Tries.... I would guess that one way would be two profiles - one "work" one "play". The "pro" filter would hide the work profile for those that wanted it, but they would still find "play" you.

Alternatively, a profile mentioning both would probably exclude you given the simple searches availale here. A shame, but no system is perfect.

Then you get accused of being a crook, fake or hiding something when someone finds your "other" profile. It's a no-win scenario and there's no solution that will make everyone, or even the majority, happy.

Oh well, such is life.

Whenready -> RE: Pro Domme Identifier (8/14/2012 3:54:39 PM)

You can have it quick, right and cheap. Any two.

I agree. There ain't no perfect fix. 2 profiles, and perhaps even reference to the other included, might be one way around it. It won't satisfy everyone, but, what ever does?

Exactly. I do not know more about web design than the creator of this site. I'm also not arrogant enough to think that they're so dumb that they've never thought of that option. They have their reasons. It's their site. It's free. I'm a guest. I have no rights here only the privileges that the owners have granted me. I am immensely grateful for the work that the unpaid staff of this site do. If I have a suggestion, I actually present it to someone that can actually do something about it rather than the posters in a discussion forum.
