Look into the Constitution proffered by Ho Chi Minh, and to whom he turned for help....you might be surprised!

Uncle Ho was our war buddy, as were many of the Muslims.

Can you answer a simple direct question Mark

Would you prefer that South Korea look like the North

And thats borderline racist to refer to millions and millions of people as "just a couple of rice paddies" in my opinion

Awww, quit your fucking passive-agressive whining. The reference is to a major agricultural product. If you think it's racist, report it. Im sure the mods love a few more of your dozens of tickets.

Actually there were a lot of pro communist agitators among them, as well as foreign agents

The "Cold War" was a serious matter

Here is some simple direct questions for you to answer.

Did Nixon and republicans make the south look like the north in Vietnam?
Do you like it?
Did W wreck Iraq?
Do you like it?

SilverMark -> RE: Uncle Sam's Travelling Circus on the road agaiin? (8/21/2012 6:43:26 AM)

I would prefer that North Korea look like South Korea, but would I expend lives to make that happen?....NO!....Should there be self Determination of countries without our interference?

Your view of the US being somehow responsible for the actions taken by others is a classic Conservative view that simply shows the misguided notion that we should fight wars as surrogates for others.

Now, tell me Tom, how's that Communism thing working? Any Dominoes that might fall and create a Communist World Government?....Really?...Maybe we can resurrect the Tail Gunner and go on a witch hunt?...Oh wait, Bachman is already trying that using Islam instead of COMMUNISM isn't she?...Anything to keep those wars going?

Musicmystery -> RE: Uncle Sam's Travelling Circus on the road agaiin? (8/21/2012 6:55:32 AM)

~FR~

LOL! Republicans. . . the Peaceniks.

What a ridiculous circus this has become. And people are arguing for that position? Too bizarre!!!!!

Youre seriously arguing that the world would be a better place had the USA let historys despots run amok?

Hitler, et al?

You do understand, dont you, that it wasnt "just" the North vs. the South in Korea and Vietnam. Right? And that the Soviets werent REALLY helping the people of Afghanistan, as they claimed, and so on. And that Saddams rape of Kuwait wasnt really justified?

It was, at the time. That time ended about 30 years ago. So it's safe for you to stop fighting it.

Why not enjoy the bounty of peace instead of trying to start another one with Muslims?

Do you even know what peace is?

Sanity -> RE: Uncle Sam's Travelling Circus on the road agaiin? (8/21/2012 7:25:51 AM)

A leftists definition of peace - "The absence of war"

As in, allowing psychopaths such as Joseph Stalin, Kim Jong Il or Mahmoud Ahmadinejad to have literally everything they could possibly want

A neo-cons version of "nirvana"- American boys and girls dying in all four corners of the world so as to ensure big business/big oil have unfettered access to unfettered markets the world over, the better to raise those stock prices and pay those bonuses .[:D]

Very different situations.
Kim, North Korea's leader was a stalinist with very aggressive views.

Ho Chi Minh was a Leninist and a nationalist. He wanted an independent Vietnam free of all external influences.

SilverMark -> RE: Uncle Sam's Traveling Circus on the road again? (8/21/2012 7:55:19 AM)

Tom, Hitler declared war on us, perhaps you forgot?

So, the division of a country as in Viet Nam in support of Colonialism by the French, that had nothing to do with the war in Viet Nam, it was all Ho Chi Minh's desire to squash capitalism?
Why that Godless Communist!

Not too big on the history of such things as the French involvement in SE Asia are you?

Dien Bin Phu?

The Michelin Plantations?

Edward Lansdale?

The CIA?

It could have been avoided, it should have been avoided and it wasn't worth the cost involved!

You seem to like those unfunded wars Tom....then bitch about the Government's budget?...Just a tad bit incongruent, isn't it?

Viet Nam's cost was directly linked to the recession of the 70's....Hmmmm....makes you wonder a bit about why we would repeat the process in Iraq and Afghanistan....

WWI - Wilson (D) Presiding

Germans started it by attacking our shipping within sight of the east coast - he kept us out until public pressure forced him in - proposed an 'honorable peace' with Germany, was ignored, WW 2 resulted.

Cold War hysteria, and Kennedy trying to 'compromise' with the Republicans. Huge snafu, I'll grant you.

Afghans attacked us - remember 9/11? Shrub lied us into Iraq to prove he was every bit the hombre Daddy was.

Any questions?

Afghans did not attack us. Nor did the Taliban.

Al Qaeda (a bunch of Saudi Arabians) camping out in Afghanistan attacked us.

This doesn't strike me as an overly accurate analysis.

What happened was, the Taliban asked for due process, the US answered with another of their trademark genocides.

In doing so, the US also managed to commit suicide, although the method was a slow and painful one that takes maybe 20-30 years to kill a nation, and so far it's only been eleven years. Fortunately for the late OBL, his staunch supporters in the USA are fighting hard to prevent BO or anyone else from administering any of the various well tested and widely available antidotes. And there's really nothing to suggest you didn't spend your country on losing a war with a bunch of farmers scratching a living off bare rock, more or less. Picking off a few undesireables along the way didn't really require a war, just the willingness to abandon due process completely, which BO has shown himself more than ready to do so far. Not that any other candidate is likely to be better on that point, of course.

Guess I better round it off, lest any harsh, unfair or accusing commentary sneak its way into this post. [:D]

IWYW,
— Aswad.
