Status: offline 		When I was at school, we discussed how the show was funny because Archie wasn't always right and wasn't always wrong; that there was something for everyone.

The fact that the loony lefties are so open about their anti-American stance is what makes it even more on-point, today.

I pity the poor knuckle-dragging mouth breathers that voted for the Keny ... ooooops ... I mean Hawaiian.

Dumping rat poison in our drinking water
dumping mercury in our air
shipping jobs overseas
pay taxes for the rich
dumping mercury in our air
giving everything away to corporations
laying massive debt on us
taking away baby milk so that we can make more war toys 
and so on

True as it maybe, HOWEVER, there are surprisingly more conservatives in this nation that can not seperate fact from fiction. If it 'helps' their arguement even though the evidence is all made up lies, has never stopped them in the past, nor will in the future!

Status: offline 		Of course Archie Bunker was just a character to show how stupid White Trash society really is.Carroll O"Conner(the real Archie Bunker)went on to play the role of a Police Chief in a small Mississippi town in the show "In the heat of the night".There,he played role of the small town ignorant chief and towards the end of the show,he became more enlightened about culture and he was attracted to a Black Female.Carroll O Conner was a great actor and thats why we're still talking about his shows.

I met Carroll many years ago (he and my cousin were friends). He said it both amused and annoyed him at the same time that some people thought he and Archie shared the same beliefs.

Interesting that you know more than the producer who created the TV series and the actors who were in the series who expressed just what I initially reported.

Same exact thing between 1965 and say around 75.
BTW Norman Lear used the same basic description FD gave back when the show was on the air.
