A GOP candidate for Hillsborough County sheriff in New Hampshire is sorry for saying he’d use ‘deadly force’ to stop an abortion, but he still says he intends to arrest those who perform the legal procedure because it is, in his opinion, ‘murder.’

Kevin Smith, a Republican candidate for New Hampshire governor, tweeted there was "no place" for Szabo's "dangerous" views.

Yeah... but consider it takes thousands of signatures to get on the ballot in the first place for County office NH. Apparently some of my neighbors some 30 miles to the north were crazy enough to support him. Kevin Smith was just neck deep in something if I remember correctly... Just can;t remember what it was,

A candidate for sheriff openly threatening to use "deadly force" to prevent a perfectly legal event occurring ...... Surely this is illegal and the idiot concerned ought to be arrested and charged.

Whether one is pro-choice or anti-abortion doesn't really matter in this instance. The issue here is that someone is threatening violence, up to and including murder to prevent law abiding citizens engaging in perfectly lawful acts.

It really ought to go without saying that the moron is wholly unsuitable as a candidate for any position of authority in any area of law enforcement and that includes issuing parking tickets.

Dear New Hampshire Republican State Committee Chairman Wayne MacDonald,

Preventing Sheriff candidate Frank Szabo from running for Hillsboro County's sheriff position is the only way to ensure he won't manipulate the position of power and force doctors and patients to bow down to his vigilante agenda. Demand that Szabo drop out of the race for sheriff before he forfeits the law in favor of his violent Personal beliefs.

Szabo previously stated that he would not rule out the use of deadly force to prevent an abortion from taking place. He has since retracted this statement, but still maintains that he would arrest anyone involved in an elective abortion. His points completely defy the legal rights of both doctors and patients. And, his arguments, retracted or not, pose a threat to all Hillsboro County doctors trying to carry out their legal duties.

The Republican party should not endorse a sheriff candidate who jeopardizes the safety and legal rights of medical professionals. Don't support Szabo's skewed personal opinions and threats against doctors. Support sheriff candidates who can fulfill the duties of the position without dangerous and misguided political fervor.

Oh, I have no problem of him arresting doctors who perform abortions IF he is elected.
Abortion does not have any restrictions on it in NH (until next year and that is for partial-birth abortions).

So he will be tied up in civil rights and civil court issues along with false imprisonment.

He will get booted out of office and will become very broke besides.
