No the least few winters have been mild, disturbingly mild, that that I complain I am used to cold but when I get minus 30 degrees C and lower that is cold, but last winter there was only a few days like that. But this warming climate is disturbing as when I was a child that is how cold it was most of the winter, I am thinking this global warming thing is actually quite terrifying.

Not to knock the Norweigans, but as a Canadian I happen to believe that I already live in a civilized society.

As for the cold part, I can easily be freezing when it is 30C outside. My feet and hands are frequently so cold that they ache, and my touch can actually paunful to otherd.

Oh! That could actually be of some benefit on this site! Forget the vampyre gloves, I will simply torment you with my frozen digits! LOL

Normally I'm pretty happy to jump on the "don't be unfair to the OP" train. I think posters often deliberately misunderstand what's said in order to get snarky with someone.

I don't think this thread falls into that category. What I see is Rule acting like a troll. He hasn't made any argument at all in favor of his position. He's not interested in discussing this. He's merely baiting people, all the while pretending to be the innocent victim instead if the instigator.

It's silly to defend him. Save your indignation for a better cause.

When I was in elementary school I saw a film about Norway, and we were told that in order to teach there we'd have to learn Norwegian, and pass a test on Norwegian history. (This would have been around 1970) I admit that I was intrigued.

I remain content to be an Italian/American, and enjoy studying the cultural heritage of other countries.

I agree that we never need to engage trolls of any kind, Rule is very correct. I think that we're all used to his style of...discourse? at this point, and have tolerance for it or not. I will always think fondly of Rule for instigating the FMC, an event he claims to have no memory of. (Tinfoil working extra hard that day!

)

Ash, I'm not sure how many Muslims there are in Norway, I am betting the answer is NOT MANY. Think SE Michigan... we have whole areas with street signs in Arabic!
