ORIGINAL: OsideGirl That said, it's a free site moderated by volunteers. I'm here as their guest. I try to rein myself in and follow the rules when faced with the idiocy that happens in introductions. (That's the only forum that has generated a gold letter for me) I don't see us as guests. We're users of the site. I assume that there is some financial gain for the existence of these message boards in the first place. The correlation between the forums and profit might be tenuous - even if it's just a "must have" feature for a successful dating site (or whatever we want to call it) - but it must be there or it wouldn't exist. I don't think I'm here due to the goodness of anyone's heart. I've said before, I feel it's a partnership. And it's disheartening when I, as a forum user, am expected to abide by rules based on courtesy and respect and those overseeing the forums can pull discussions I may be enjoying and moderate and ban users based on the personal opinion of others without regard to me, the user. There seems to be an imbalance favored toward streaming the pool of users to a certain type or types. Anyway, I still think introductions should not be a place where we are forced to be nice. Even though I'm usually "nice" - it has turned introductions into boring numbness. I'd be more willing to go up there and welcome people if I didn't have to do it while ball-gagged. If there aren't pictures, it never happened.
