Mitt's birther joke is exhibit A in showing how desperate he is, how empty his campaign is,
how when it comes down to it he's got
nothing, nothing to offer, nothing to run
on.

I don't think the birther joke was just
awkward Mitt being awkward. I think he
was delibertly instructed by his handlers
to make that joke, a desperation tactic.
How dumb Mitt is could inspire thousands
of light bulb jokes so he may be clueless
to some degree about what he's doing.
It's a topic on which some play dumb and
one on which some are just dumb.
Some are deliberately obtuse, some are
by nature obtuse. People who actually
buy into the birther nonsense are naive
childlike thinkers who are vulnerable to
being sold bridges and are the reason
bottles of shampoo and rubbing alcohol
come with warning labels not to drink
the contents.

Birther jokes are dog whistles. At the heart
of the birther agenda is the goal of painting
Obama as sinister, foreign, other not one of
us real hard working God fearing white
Americans. Obama can't be demonized in
the way many black politicians before him
have been. So, his enemies have taken
a different stereotype to exploit.
It's not a new stereotype. It has solid
roots in old Hollywood movies and
plays and books going back to the
nineteenth century. It's the sinister
mulatto stereotype. The mixed bag
who despises the Great White Father
and is bent on destroying him.
It places neatly into white anxiety about
race and shows the nineteenth century
still has root in some American psyches.

I always pictured Chris's leg tingle as
something akin to an erection not needing
to piss. And given the boners dead Reagan
still gives members of the GOP who are
they to judge?

Matthews can be a bit of a blowhard and
he doesn't always express himself well.
But he is right about this. And this Priebus
guy? Weak, weak stuff. That's all you've
got? Come back when you've got something
to come back with.

Obama's eligibility question is of his own making. Leftists use the race card as to make it go away. Intellectual dishonesty at its finest.

The most racist people are leftists.

Back when the Obama was running in '08, there were plenty of people that assumed one could not disagree with the man's politics; that it had to be a racial thing.

I think it is far too easy for many of the mouth-breathing oxygen stealers walking around to throw race" at an issue. Ya know, OJ Simpson was never going to get a fair trial because he was black. He walked away from a potential death sentence (multiple murder in California does allow a death sentence or did, at that time) because the prosecution failed to prove their case. The pre-trial screams of racism didn't work.

But, now, we have a person who has no record to run on and never has. It has to be "the system" or "the racists" that hate him because he can't logically refute the issues that people bring up.

That his policies fit in very nicely with a socialist party has been borne out. That he speaks with contempt about the country he leads and wishes to continue to lead is evident, every time he opens his mouth but the Obamabots can't defend these things so, it has to be that people with legitimate suspicions of his leadership ability are reduced to "racists" with no real argument.

That's what it comes down to, in a nut shell. There's no defense for Ofailure so his disciples need to "invent" a worse crime for his detractors.

It's sad.

Peace and comfort,

Michael

"Whatever mistakes we have made, the plain fact is this :The United States of America has helped underwrite global security for more than six decades with the blood of our citizens and the strength of our arms. The service and sacrifice of our men and women in uniform has promoted peace and prosperity from Germany to Korea, and enabled democracy to take hold in places like the Balkans. We have borne this burden not because we seek to impose our will.We have done so out of enlightened self interest...."
Obama's own words, this is ,in part, how this unAmerican socialistic President spoke of his country to an international audience while accepting the Nobel Peace prize.
Now please show where the contempt is obvious, show where the socialistic tendencies reveal themselves ?
Obviously you won't be able to using these words,so tell you what,I went to the trouble to find and type these words you now go and find examples proving your bullshit assertion.
Go right ahead I'm patient ,I'll wait.

The fund-raising letter that accompanied the photo featured, on just its first page in only 15 lines of text, the words "America" and "American" 10 times. The letter began: "I believe in America ... I believe in the American Dream. And I believe in American strength". And continued: "This election is a battle for the soul of America." It concluded by asserting that this campaign is "to reclaim America for the people".

After the 1965 Civil Rights Act was passed the Republican Party absorbed the Southern Dixiecrats and morphed into a Southern Strategy, reclaim America Party. It grew successfully into an anti-intellectual, anti-big city, down home, theologically driven, anti-science, family values party that catered to the basest fears of the white electorate. A black president in the white house! Ain't that historical? Ain't that some accomplishment to give us pride? Sadly, no. We are not a post-racial society. The black man in the white house is simply a more salient target.

Eligibility perhaps? It's Obama's own damn fault it's an issue Mittens can exploit, given the times he's opened it via his own statements.
If eligibility is not potentially a big issue, given the Constitutional constraint involved, would it not be better to ignore it?
Eligibility is not race based.

What a complete and utter crock of shit.

In 2008 someone said, 'Senator Obama can you prove you were born in the USA?" He presented a brand new freshly notarized copy of his Birth Certificate straight from the state government of Hawaii. For anyone not a crazy dumbass racist that settled the matter.

But the crazy dumbass racists could not live with the idea that a black man, except they use a different word for him, was now President so they hatched some of the truly dumbest conspiracy theories since the "they faked the moon landings!"

Crazy dumbass racists all over the place, god bless the intarwebz, trotted into courtrooms all over the country sure in their ability to convince judges, who must secretly be just like them, that these theories were true. Of course no one makes it even the level of a cicuit court judge on the federal bench by being that monumentally stupid so they all got tossed out of court.

The President got bored with the nonsense and got the Hawaiian government to send him a copy of the original BC and he released that and lo and behold the crazy dumbass racists still weren't satisfied. Birth announcements from the 2 local papers of the era? Still not enough for the crazy dumbass racists.

In the ultimate irony we now have as the GOP nominee a man whose father ran for POTUS despite having been born in Mexico, which based on the various less harebrained theories amongst the racists makes both Romney's ineligible but the crazy dumbass racists have not uttered even a peep of protest.

The actual race card is race card.
A phrase that the right uses as a
bully club and a knee jerk defense
against anyone(that's not them)
bringing up race for any reason.

As I said some play dumb and some
are actually dumb in that they are
incapable of seeing anything beyond
their own short sightedness and limited
life experience. Forever wearing blinders
and putting your hands over your ears
when someone says something that
jars your fantasy view of life also helps.
