No matter what your profile says, you will get these kinds of invitations when some guy you've never spoken to plans to be in your town for one night. To be honest, I don't just block these folks. I return a mail saying that I have no interest in meeting somebody during their drive by. Then I block. Then, I hit that nice "mark as spam and delete" button. To Me, there is a difference between meeting someone you've talked with on the boards or in mail from time to time, and somebody you've never heard of thinking you are a convenience because they happen to be in your town. I've done the former quite a few times. I have no interest in the latter.

Where exactly will you be? Him: Denver Mistress/Ma'am/Godess Me: Euhm yeah, that's a 7 hour drive from here Never hear from him again. In the few cases they've claimed the Western Slope wasn't an issue, and I've actually agreed to meet them, they never showed. Same when we where living in Chicago. They never show. And that's because what they WILL do is, as soon as you agree to have coffee with them, start talking about kink/sex/play/fetish/hotel rooms and so on... EVER single one of them. So then, after I refuse to get into kink/sex/play/fetish/hotel rooms talk with them, they're not longer interested in meeting. I always respond positively to those invites, because I have a rule that I'll meet anybody at least once for coffee, if it works out that that's possible without much hassle; and I've yet to find a single one of them that isn't literally looking for a one-night-stand/hooker-for-the-price-of-a-dinner. They'll send those emails off to every profile in the area, and hope that they'll get lucky enough to not have to spend the night away from the wife jerking off. EVERY single one of them.

I think (as Ishtarr said also) that I'm blinded by naivete here. I might do such a thing. But as Carol routinely points out, I'm not a good example of "most guys". In my own head though it'd go something like this... "Well hey! That's an interesting profile and whodathunkit but I'm actually going to be in town and might be able to spare some time from business meetings for dinner." And I also have to admit that even for me it would be quite a bit more likely that such an invitation went to someone from these boards where there was already some degree of mutual "liking" if not attraction so it wouldn't seem weird to them at all.

WTFE I think many of us have had that particular one. Really, these types of letters from someone traveling in that wants a booty call are so common I'm surprised you haven't had a ton of them by now. There isn't anything you are actively doing to encourage it, the fact that you are female and on this site is enough. There's no special selection process that set their eyes on you, your profile just happened to come up. One thing that cracks me up is lots of these offers get the spam warning attached to them, the idiots fire off letters to anyone and everyone in the hope that they'll get laid for free.
