Ok... have to talk about the flipside. I spent several years traveling for employment. And I would often invite someone from this site to meet for a meal when I was in their area. The girl I've been with for four years was one I invited to dinner as I was passing through her town. You never know what will happen. I would not even consider asking for a play date with someone I had not met in person ahead of time but I'm enough of a conversation slut I'll invite someone interesting to meet at a neutral location like a restaurant to meet and chat face to face.

See that makes more sense. I actually did that with someone from another site, he and I had chatted and I went to dinner with him when he was on business. No play, just two people having dinner. And that approach would work much better, especially if you had already introduced yourself. I think it the ones who just randomly drop into my inbox who just say, hey, I am passing through let's hook up. As in all things, it is tone and intent and approach.

It would be completely different if someone I knew from online only, said "Hey, going to be going through your area next week, how about hooking up for lunch, dinner, a beverage?" my answer is pretty much always going to be: "I'd love to." If you're on my IM list or someone I talk with on the boards here or elsewhere, hell yeah, I'd like to meet you in person. I do this once or twice a month on a routine basis. I really have met a lot of people from online. The drive by invite with the naming of the hotel is so very different in a cheesy sleazy kinda way. It's yeah, all sub fems must be sluts, and if I message enough of them, I'll get lucky. Gawd I hate that crap.

Well...consider this a drive by invite...if anyone (only names I have conversed with and recognize btw) is ever passing thrugh the Orlando/Daytona area feel free to PM me, Mr and I would love to come out and hang out for a dinner evening ;) There's plenty of decent restaraunts around here for any taste you can imagine...and Luci likes to eat! Well sure, I do that whenever I'm travelling to an area where one of my online pals is. People that I have some kind of contact with already. Not random folks off the profile side.

I don't mind meeting other peeps, but I tend to travel with purpose. [:D] When I head out on the 5th to see my girl, I'll be stopping in Chicago, and then in Charlotte on the way back - but those layovers are only an hour long. Not enough time to really meet anyone, more like wander through gift shops waiting for the flight to take off, eh.
