First of all welcome to the forums.

It's not terribly unusual for new posters to give us too little information when asking a question, you're following that trend *shrug*

What is it that you're trying to do and finding difficult? Without knowing that it'll be hard for us to give useful responses.

In general, most stuff worth having is difficult to attain or acquire. It takes time, effort, commitment and resources. I have no idea if you are doing anything wrong.

However, most likely yes, it is supposed to be this difficult. It's how you come to the point where you appreciate whatever it is you have when you finally get there.

Edited to say to the OP : if it's too easy, it's not always worth it. If it's too hard, either you're on the wrong track or you're having a challenge and changing attitude towards it (it's a challenge, so it's exciting) may help with things.

Exception made to eating ice cream. That's always easy and worth it.

I know! I just took up the bassoon last week and it's not at all like playing the horn. Embouchure is totally different, never mind fingering which is, like, crazy. It's really starting fresh on this thing, and I sound like a dying elephant.
