I have seen videos of newborn circumcision and I am stunned anyone would try to claim the baby does not feel it. It is obvious by his frantic screaming he feels it. This really makes me hope this baby is another girl so I do not have to deal with any pressure to cut.

Newborns scream when the silver nitrate is placed into their eyes.

They scream when the heel stick is done.

Some will scream when the umbilical cord is cut.

Mine used to scream when I changed his outfit.

Lets not discuss the screams from their first shots.

Parents are protected from all those assaults... and so is the public.

And if you cant stand up to the "pressure to cut", then why are you having children to begin with?

The trauma I may have felt being circumcised pales in comparison to all the shit that has happened since I was circumcised...

Yea, i'm over it...let's move on.

Helps prevent HIV as an adult so I'm all for it medically. Plus as all dudes know, it makes your dick look much, much bigger.

The Op is also out of date. All the main political parties have voted to introduce a law allowing circumcision for Religious reasons back in July.

You mean smaller.
Also, avoiding bareback sex with HIV infected partners is a better way to prevent HIV infection than cutting off part of your penis.

Newsflash, condoms are not 100% and neither are promises of fidelity. Besides, I'm talking globally cuz, you know, men are as slutty as they can be, and no, the oversized turtleneck makes it look much, much smaller. Besides, aesthetically speaking, cut is much, much cyuter. Who sez women aren't visual?

Get this, I met a nice young man on this site, and as always, I get 'em tested. Ohhhh, yes, he got tested for everything. So, I decide to do some things to him I don't need the copy of his results for . . . he strips . . . he has HPV.
Charming! And sure enough, he had been tested; he just couldn't be arsed to get his results, so the weasel was lying as omission, not commission, which is even weasel-ier. Even if it's rare for him to get PENIS CANCER, he's very likely to pass his cervical-cancer-causing virus to some less vigilant or informed partner, i.e., neverever me.
So if a minor operation he'd never remember as an infant could have prevented his picking up venereal warts from his slutty ex- on a kibbutz, doncha think it would have been worth it?

And you might add that, at least for mine, they injected lidocaine(sp?) and used those sweeties, they can't feel pain and taste sweet at the same time or something. I know, because I was right there by his side in the NICU. I re-dipped his sweetie several times. Nope, no problem with mommy being right there.

I certainly never pressured a mother into cutting when I worked labor and delivery, which is where that question is always asked. But I wouldnt rule out that some places could have asked repeatedly, or had long discussions if a mother refused. I was simply giving her the benefit of a doubt on that one.

We did get asked more than once. The answer was the same each time though. I did not see it as "pressure" though. Just all the team being on the same page and getting the correct paperwork and such done. They did not want to make a mistake about what we wanted. Keep in mind that Roscoe spent several weeks in the NICU and scheduling stuff can get weird because you do not know exactly when you will take your baby home. Unlike a regular birth.

Just like I was asked more than once about having my tubes tied.

Some see that as pressure. Heaven forbid they have to answer a question more than once.

However, you are correct in that it is better to ask a million times than to get the answer wrong once.

Cutting off a portion of the penis makes the penis physically smaller and I'm, not aware of any resulting optical illusion to counteract that.

I suspect your thinking of trimming the pubic hair which makes more of the penis visible, thus giving the impression that it's bigger.

Remember, bathing, soaking and washing after sex makes men more liable to infection; it's the DRYING that cuts down on HIV, like, you know, circumcision.

I think we should stick to the condoms to prevent the spread of HIV rather than listening to members of the catholic occult which seem to be provoking a ridiculous debate about circumcision being a viable alternative. You'll end up with blood on your hands if you continue this silliness. People might actually listen to you.

As soon as that isolated study was produced I knew some would grab at it with both hands.

Frankly, if the whole "pressure" issue is from her husband, than the two of them need to sit down and discuss it like adults. And give the reasons why each feels the way that they do. I also recommend discussing it with the OBGYN and the pediatrician.

It must be really nice to have a pregnancy where the biggest concern for all parties involved is whether or not to circumcise.
