Is there indoor plumbing? Refrigeration? Food?

Because our relationship is very strong but I'm not sure a diet of raw fish and coconut milk would be good for it. Assuming we could catch a fish.

ResidentSadist -> RE: Swept away to an Unknown Island with your Sub/Dom (9/2/2012 2:55:49 PM)

Well, maybe if it was a whole poly family and the slaves were:

a doctor
an electrician
a plumber
a pole dancer
a carpenter
an agriculturalist
a fisherman
a mechanic
a massage therapist
a chef (thanx for type-o correction Hibby)
2 ex hookers and a porn star

Just sayin'

[:D]

ETS: and a bar tender

LadyHibiscus -> RE: Swept away to an Unknown Island with your Sub/Dom (9/2/2012 2:58:10 PM)

You meant 'chef', right?

ResidentSadist -> RE: Swept away to an Unknown Island with your Sub/Dom (9/2/2012 3:07:36 PM)

^ fixed it, Thanx.

Winterapple -> RE: Swept away to an Unknown Island with your Sub/Dom (9/2/2012 3:10:34 PM)

I prefer the remote cabin idea.
A well stocked remote cabin with
solar panels. I'd be fine without
the Internet or tv or phones for a
year. The only catch would be having
no contact with family. If it could be
conveyed to them I was ok and I could
be reassured they were ok I'd roll with
it. One of those crank radios might be
appreciated and I'd want to bring books
and my knitting.

I could last a few days on a island
primitive conditions if basic needs
were met. Body elimination outdoors
doesn't bother me.
Also how mosquito, snake and rat
ridden is the island?
Under comfy conditions I could last
a few weeks or a few months.
I'm sure it would be a bonding
experience for many people and
a relationship killer for others.

We'd both have to be able to
shave and have soap and a
way to practice oral hygiene.
There's a limit to have back
to nature I'm willing to go.

Who finds this an ultimate fantasy: to live on an unknown island with your Dom or Sub with no one knowing where you are. Of course it will be unfair to your dear and near ones but if we ignored this point, would you enjoy it? and for how long?

No thanks. Great holiday. Great break. But to live it? Far too gregarious for that to work for ever.

I think if you know deep inside you the answer to this question, you will have a very good idea about the strength of the relation .

Utterly irrelevant. If she can't trust me when she's hogtied, how the heck is she going to trust me stranded on an island somewhere?

[sm=writing.gif]Note to self. Add exterminator to poly family slave list for island abandonment.

I wonder if those inground systems really work...

I am not a friend of biting insects.

I hear that. I don't mind getting chewed on a little bit now and then but not by insects.

(Hibby, you got mail on other side)

LadyHibiscus -> RE: Swept away to an Unknown Island with your Sub/Dom (9/2/2012 3:23:06 PM)

I know it, hon, but my internet at the house is down and I can't see the files on my phone.

LafayetteLady -> RE: Swept away to an Unknown Island with your Sub/Dom (9/2/2012 4:43:22 PM)

Granted it would be difficult to bring your sub with you (unless you both were chosen for the same season), but just go on "Survivor."  You will get all the roughing it, you need.

Yeah...nothing says strong relationship as much as when there is no option to walk out on it.
I actually think a relationship that survives regardless of all the outside influences and distractions
is a better testament to the strength of that union.
But a few weeks on a deserted island with the man that I adore? Yes please!

Kana -> RE: Swept away to an Unknown Island with your Sub/Dom (9/2/2012 5:16:41 PM)

Do we have A/C and room service?
Concierge? Internet access? 1500 TC sheets?
You know, the base necessities for life...

If so, Si, es mucho bueno.
If nada, aye caramba. Es mucho mal.

LadyHibiscus -> RE: Swept away to an Unknown Island with your Sub/Dom (9/2/2012 5:18:15 PM)

GET OUT OF MY BRAIN KANA!!

LOL Stephen. Good Point. I think the need is the mother of invention as they say. You will be surprised how our origins as hunters and survivors which is still imprinted in our genes will surface and come into play once needed to survive . At least this is what the anthropologists and biologists are claiming

The anthropologists and biologists investigate cultures that lasted for centuries. The people that died within a week, they overlook.

kiwisub12 -> RE: Swept away to an Unknown Island with your Sub/Dom (9/2/2012 5:27:17 PM)

I would -require electricity - to run the AC and recharge my electric toothbrush. ................. nothing says roughing it more than using a manual toothbrush!

I believe the strengthening of connection between me and my sub during this time without all the noise and distractions will be worth it. It will very similar to the sensory deprivation experiments conducted by scientists now to understand how will the brain will function without the five senses.

Huh? Nothing sharpens the senses like living in nature and hunting & gathering.

LanceHughes -> RE: Swept away to an Unknown Island with your Sub/Dom (9/2/2012 5:35:58 PM)

Peace Corps placements for married couples must have jobs for both.  Highest on the list of desired couples.... Male Doctor, female nurse.  Just saying that that is the way the "world" works.  Female Doc with a mariied male nurse?  I'm sure a fit could be found.

Funny thing about Peace Corps, you soon learn what is a luxury and what is not.  I had to take my shower very late,  In the morning, the reservior above me in altitude - on the mountainside - was tapped out.  I could get only a trickle of water at times other than night.  Coleman stove, NO refrigeration.  (Tropics.)  Oh, and when the gas cannister ran out, had to carry it down moutain side - and when filled and a bazillion times heavier - had to carry it back up mountainside.

A/C ?  Hahahaha - tourist hotels and the computer office where I worked.

So, how did married couples do?  VERY well, thank you.  (I was not half of one of those.) I'm SURE that such couples thought long and hard about the OPost before volunteering.
