Hello to all

Being a Amercian I look at other with an open mind! I also respect the right for people to say
what they wish to express, sometime it is indeed different or even strange!

But I have come to a pitch fork in the road of our great nation! What has happen to our
country when well respect people talk of the end of the world, no it is not an "terrorist nor
the Maya Calendar!

What can it be to make Chuck Norris and his lovely wife, to say it will be { 1000 years of darkness} this is a quote from
his mouth! If President Obama wins this coming election!

Chuck Norris has been one of my favorite actor and he has always spoke with clear mind, at least until now!

I understand they want, need, and pray for Mitty to win, but say the United States of America will "have 1000 years of darkness" and the world we know as it is now
will end!

This something I never ever heard spoken about a President of the UnIted States of America during an election year!

What has happen my fellow Americans, does anyone even know?

How far will this go! What next the "army of darkness" lol someone even said there would be a race war!

I can see the people hiding food, storing up for the long battle!

There little else to add to this election year but Chuck Norris has made it a point to appear as the savior and make it the coming of
Mitt Romy !

Who'd have thought? I had him marked down as either impotent or a closet gay.

because what is public knowledge amounts to nothing more than:

Not that mitts will be any better in a monopolist gubafia.

the legislature and judicial have set the stage for a very unnerving future, which is why so many people are expatriating and companies

Oh and what about clint eastwood talking to an empty chair.

the mistake they all continue to make is that regime change will actually be beneficial to anyone but themselves.

Yup. Being married doesn't mean that much in this context does it? Oscar Wilde fathered (I think) 3 children so it's definitely not the most reliable of indicators.

And yes, from where I sit, it's OK to say "closet gay" ....... but only as long as you whisper it

I would venture to guess that up until now, he cared if he ever worked in hollywood, again. There are people out there that are conservative that know that they will never get another job, if they state their political views, publicly.

Hollywood is and has been controlled by socialists/communists since the 40s (at least) and they have their own version of blacklisting. Poor Charlie Chaplin fell victim to it; a great talent that wouldn't toe the party line and as a result, lived out his life like he had wet leprosy.

The kinder, caring left mutilated him. Chuck obviously no longer cares if he ever gets another job again and is therefore free to speak his mind.

Peace and comfort,

Michael

Actually gay or not has nothing to do with it. Norris is simply one of them - the hateful, self-rightious fanatics who know nothing except violence and arrogance as a cheap substitute for real manhood.

Isn't there a tv show about people preparing for apocalyptic scenarios? Thats just on tv, imagine the people who are off camera. As far as 1000 years of darkness, as far as I'm concerned, when the first "colonist" hit these shores, it was the start of darkness for 2 groups of indigenous peoples. So Chuck is right as far as it continuing. Obviously it doesn't matter who is in the white house.

Eh? That seems a weird take on history there, DS. Most other sources say that Chaplin's career was blighted by the right wing in the USA, not the left. He particularly suffered during the McCarthy era.

Would the fact that Hank Williams Jr(Has Been Country singer) Chuck Norris(has been action actor) or Georg Clooney(known more being a handsome actor than much else) really sway anyone's vote?

If so, do you think that those who are swayed by these endorsements, or in the case of Norris and Williams Jr. inflammatory statements, have an IQ that could possibly reach room temperature?

With the exception of a brief cameo in "The Expendables 2", Chuck Norris hasn't had an acting job since 2006. Once popular entertainers who are now semi-forgotten often have a hard time accepting that the public doesn't care about them anymore.

Taking into account the (ahem) limited range of poor Chuckie-baby's thespian talents, it is debatable whether Norris has ever done an acting job in his life.

Had to respond to this ridiculous partisan shrill. Is your partisanship so strong that you make this shit up ?

First:

There are people out there that are conservative that know that they will never get another job, if they state their political views, publicly.

Never in my entire life since the repubs and Joe McCarthy (about communists) have I heard this about conservatives. Not once and is one of the most ridiculous statements I've ever read. Politics has never entered the job picture at all...ever.

Hollywood is and has been controlled by socialists/communists since the 40s (at least) and they have their own version of blacklisting. Poor Charlie Chaplin fell victim to it; a great talent that wouldn't toe the party line and as a result, lived out his life like he had wet leprosy.

Hollywood was in fact created because of the natural American greed in Edison who tried to monopolize the movie industry simply because he invented the projector. Movie makers moved to Cal. to get away from the greedy, corrupt capitalist east.

The communists/socialists as you label some...never entered the picture at all and is a long standing right wing lie. In fact, it was the right wing fascists (McCarthy & Co.) who so black-balled Charley, he returned to Europe from whence he came being a Brit by birth.

In fact Charlie Chaplin was black-listed if at all and called a communist by the greedy scum otherwise known as capitalist bankers when he refused to give them most of his profits, MOST of his profits for their investment. Furthermore, Charlie Chaplin lived out his life as a very successful comedian and film maker after a 75 year career.

He did it his own way...with his own money rather than say inherit...like Ryan, a man worth $7 million and never worked a real job (private industry) in his entire life but for a few weeks in his dad's business.

Not even a nice try daddy.

Mons, Actors and singers, both liberal and conservative, have been spouting their political veiws forever. Remember the Dixie Chicks and the comments about Bush. Lets also not forget about Shawn Penn. There is nothing new here.

During the era of McCarthyism, Chaplin was accused of "un-American activities" as a suspected communist. J. Edgar Hoover, who had instructed the FBI to keep extensive secret files on him, tried to end his United States residency. FBI pressure on Chaplin grew after his 1942 campaign for a second European front in the war and reached a critical level in the late 1940s, when Congressional figures threatened to call him as a witness in hearings. This was never done, probably from fear of Chaplin's ability to lampoon the investigators.[248] In February 2012 an MI5 file on Chaplin was opened to the public which revealed that the FBI had contacted the British secret service to provide them with information which would enable them to ban Chaplin from the US.[252] In particular, it wanted MI5 to find out where Chaplin was born and pursue suggestions that his real name was Israel Thornstein. MI5 searched, but to no avail. A suggestion that he "may have been born in France" also came to nothing.
In 1952, Chaplin left the US for what was intended as a brief trip home to the United Kingdom for the London premiere of Limelight. Hoover learned of the trip and negotiated with the Immigration and Naturalization Service to revoke Chaplin's re-entry permit. Chaplin decided not to re-enter the United States, writing: "Since the end of the last world war, I have been the object of lies and propaganda by powerful reactionary groups who, by their influence and by the aid of America's yellow press, have created an unhealthy atmosphere in which liberal-minded individuals can be singled out and persecuted. Under these conditions I find it virtually impossible to continue my motion-picture work, and I have therefore given up my residence in the United States."[253]

Well, Chuck's best bud is the Reverend
Mike Huckabee so his views aren't that
surprising considering the company he
keeps.

Oscar Wilde and his wife Constance had
two sons.

That Hollywood was overrun with Pinkos
was McCarthy's charge.
The House Committee on Un-American
Activities, one of the darkest stains on
American history began going after people
which resulted in the blacklist.

The blacklist destroyed many careers
and lives. John Garfield and Edward G
Robinson were two they went after.
The Hollywood Ten, the screenwriters
who refused to cooperate with the
committee were their other famous
victims. Some got jail sentences and
Dalton Trumbo couldn't work using
his own name til Kirk Douglas hired him
for Spartacus helping break the
blacklist in the sixties.

Chaplin was persecuted by the US
government and some factions of
the press for his left leaning politics.
He left Hollywood and didn't return
until the early seventies to accept an
honorary Oscar.

Ugly, ugly chapter in American history.
And being on the right hardly seems to
have effected the careers of Eastwood,
Arnold Schwartzenegger or Bruce Willis.
Norris and other Republican actors like
Shannon Doherty haven't been blacklisted
they're just has beens.
But let's keep it in perspective it was
the right that persecuted the left during
the blacklist and all the naming names
horror that came out of it. And some who
ended up blacklisted or were called before
the committee hadn't done anything more
commie than make charitable donations
for humanitarian relief during the Spanish
Civil war to aid the victims of Franco
and the fascists.
