LadyPact -> Gentlemen, I'm starting to feel bad for you (9/5/2012 10:17:20 AM)

As many of My male counterparts know, I've never been really big on the genders being split for forums between Dominants. I tend to think there are more similarities than differences. Since the submissive board incorporates both genders, I honestly feel the D side could have followed suit.

One of the differences between the boards, as many of you know, is that we do get a lot of wankers on the Mistress side. I've always felt that would be reduced if the genders would have been combined.

However, in the last couple of days, I've felt bad for the men on this board. Some of the stupidest, complete lack of knowledge type questions have been coming here. Often, they are coming from people who are fifty or older.

Are you noticing this trend? Is it something that is confined to the internet for you? Are you also seeing this complete lack of experience or even general life knowledge in your local munch groups?

Bonus question: Has anyone else wanted to literally bang their head on the desk reading some of this crap lately?

Greetings Pact,

You also might want to think of these postings and ask if they are real. I mean if they have any thought into the post, would they have not found the time to go back through the history of the board and searched for the answer. Some of the posting has been done with profiles of people whom have just started and then whoosh they are gone. This tends to have the boards filled with useless questions and the answers are genuins but the Ops are not.

Just like in any of the other parts oif the boards, you get the same questions, get the same people taking their time out of their day and answering those questions. You get some Ops just taking advice on what they want to hear, and lo and behold not wanting to hear any other sensible replies. I have gone through some op questions and they are absolutely just tunnel vision idiots with some of people replying giving good advice and just being shut down through tunnel vision.

Oh well thats my gripe..LOL.

50 Shades of Grey LP... oh don't we all love that book... [8|]

Apparently it comes "lobotomy included". They must have had a promo or something...

ARIES83 -> RE: Gentlemen, I'm starting to feel bad for you (9/5/2012 3:47:36 PM)

Hey it happens, I don't think men or women
have a corner on the market when it comes to
stupidity.
A lot of the questions do sound like...
"I have a problem! My car wont start, but I'm
interested in BDSM now, so I have forgotten how
to deal with problems! can anyone recomend a
BDSM friendly mechanic?"
What can you do...

You may not notice, but there are female wankers
as well hahah.

Yup. Lots of women have read that book and it's hit them right in the sweet spot of wanting sexual satisfaction along with romance. They're all in sub frenzy at approximately the same time. They don't know the first thing about BDSM or D/s, so they're floundering about looking for guidance and are ending up on the boards. Which is good, but it's really hard to keep a straight face when they're all acting like young girls seeing their favorite band in concert for the first time.

OH HELL YES!!! It used to be the younger set coming here with stupid questions but within the past couple of months or so, it's been the 50 or older who are doing it. It's one of the big reasons I've cut down on responding here. It came to a point for me where I'm having to bite my tongue so that I didn't get a gold letter for asking these people what the hell are they doing and why are they acting like they're 15 years old. I just don't get it. Sometimes I just want to reach through the computer and shake some sense into them.

Now though I'm to the point where I am just not responding as much because I'm finding it such a waste of my time and figure that if they don't have common sense by their age, then I'm more than willing for them to win Darwin's award.

BambiBoi -> RE: Gentlemen, I'm starting to feel bad for you (9/5/2012 11:21:40 PM)

Lady Pact,

I feel sympathy for them. Like You've pointed out in many posts, that a relationship has a D/s element does not require common sense to go out the window. Sadly, that is a point lost on so many novice posters. It takes monk-like patience and sometimes kid-gloves to get the fledgling kinksters off the ground.

Sometimes, such an approach necessitates feeding trolls. But every now and again I feel like I've practically saved a life by reminding a submissive whose trying so hard to be a pleasing slave that she doesn't have to endure abuses. I take similar care in the poly forum to remind people that just because one is dominant does not mean his or her decisions should go unquestioned.

So many submissives, especially those new and eager to please, endure silliness that borders stupidity because they would feel like a failure for not abiding certain tasks. In short, every now and again I will get an encouraging letter or response from a novice bashfully admitting it was so simple, and they just needed someone to help them see.

That is what keeps me coming back. Plus the newbie girls tend to put booby pictures in their profiles, so that's nice too.

I am alllllllllllll for banging other people's heads.

Apparently it is a very good thing I am very busy this week!

Greta75 -> RE: Gentlemen, I'm starting to feel bad for you (9/6/2012 7:46:30 AM)

In conclusion. BDSM really is only right for the emotionally strong.
The rest of us emotionally fucked up human beings are just playing with fire.

littlewonder -> RE: Gentlemen, I'm starting to feel bad for you (9/6/2012 9:10:34 AM)

Ya know, I kinda have to agree with Red. While I don't date younger men because it creeps me out because I have a 21 year old daughter, I can understand his rationale.

When I was still dating it did seem like a lot of older men had a lot of current baggage. I don't mind baggage as long as it no longer affects you negatively today. But it seems there are a lot of older people out there that seem to hang onto it. They get bitter and jaded and just mean. I hate going on a date only for them to talk constantly about their ex or be rude to people just because they have become that way from their baggage.

I admit I have baggage but I don't let it overcome my life. I don't talk badly about my ex because it's the past and I no longer feel any reason to be pissy about him. The past is the past. I no longer hate or love him. I'm indifferent to him. I don't talk about my deceased husband very often because I don't want people thinking I'm comparing them to him or that I am still holding onto him. That's just rude to the other person. I don't constantly spout about my problems to others....except Master lol, and even then I don't usually like to bother him with them because I feel as if I don't want to burden him nor it is fair to him.

When I was single I went on a couple of dates with boys a little younger than me and they were fun because they were still discovering, still learning, always seemed happy and carefree. But that was also a huge problem for me because I needed someone with life experience. I didn't want a party person or someone who could not relate to me. The younger ones just seemed to want to hang out with friends and drink and do wild stuff that I would never want to do ever again since I got older and realized the consequences.

Thankfully Master and I like controlled wild stuff. [8D]
