Hi,
I have been on the scene for little over a year now, with the same master, my play has increased and my levels pushed all the time, but it doesnt matter how severe the play (canes, crops etc) I just dont bruise very much at all.... I get the odd red line that almost is gone by morning.....

I find it horrible as I love pleasing my master and carry his marks with pride... I never get deep tissue bruising in any way...

Is there anything I can do or he can that will make me mark better (no warm up) or even a tool or technique havnt thought of, he has been a master for his whole adult life now 55 he gives me hell and it hurts so much but is loved so much... but I get no marking really help ;(

Not that I know of. I don't mark easily either - it's extremely rare for me to have bruising and when it does happen it's usually something accidental like an implement wrapping around because I moved. I'm ginger too and really fair so you'd think I'd mark beautifully, but nope.

I've hear people suggest taking a couple of aspirin before play if that's safe for you, but beyond that I don't know.

It's just the way you are. I wouldn't get too upset about it. Think about it positively - he gets a nice fresh blank canvas every time you play.

Aspirin is a blood thinner. So if you take it the small capillary bleeding which gives bruises won't heal that quickly. Also a hot bath directly after will help create bruises.

Have you tried switching from thin whippy stuff like canes to thuddy things like heavy paddles? That could create bruises also. But eventually, you stop bruising if you play frequently. If you didn't play for several months, you would start to bruise again. Not that I think you'll do that, just thought you should know.

You could google leather butt, which is how people refer to this.

I am wondering if there is a particular reason you are fixated on marks. I understand enjoying to look at them after for the both of you, but there is so much more to enjoy and connect over than just marks. Do you only want marks from impact play or are you open to other types of marks? There are lots of interesting things out there that can leave various kinds of marks that are not bruises. Also I was wondering about things like bruising from suction such as bite/hickey related or play that does something similar.

I also don't bruise easily. Personally--I don't recommend taking aspirin unless you have it cleared by your physician (he or she doesn't have to know why--many people take aspirin as a blood thinner, a pain reliever, headache etc)

Canes have never bruised me--cane marks yet, bruises, no.

Although I don't like bruises--the implements that bruise me the most are ones I enjoy--paddles and hairbrushes. I have found that smaller and thicker paddles/brushes will brush a lot--especially if repeatedly hit on one small target area. Also, you might want to change where the hits are. The more padding there...the less chance for bruising. My Sir particularly likes to hit on the inside area of the cheeks with a small paddle/brush because it hurts a lot--and I get a lot of bruising there.

Last play party, one of the Dommes used a very thick paddle--long handle but very small "Blade" It was a heavy thud and left crazy huge bruises.

Eh I don't think it's always as simple as playing too often or not hitting hard enough - it does have a lot to do with someone's physiology. Yes granted eventually bruises will be caused but the amount it takes for one person to bruise might be significantly more than the next person.

I've never bruised much - even early in the relationship when I hadn't played before, or after a long hiatus due to pregnancy. I used to do martial arts and would often walk away unmarked whilst my opponent was bruised. And I was rubbish, so it wasn't that I was skillful enough to preserve myself.

Yeah, I've never really bruised much either. In, jeez, 4.5 years? I think I've gotten a bruise from play once. I do have a little bruise on my leg right now, but it's from doing a bunch of grappling and ground sparring demonstrations on a little mat on top of asphalt.

I have the oppisite i buuise if Master looks at me sidways. I am very fair and it don't take much to cause a bruise. The thing is Maste does not like to bruise me he don't like to mark his property, he say says we both know who you belong to i don't have to put marks on you to remimd you. Ocassionaly i will have a bruise but not often. Hitting in the same spot could cause a bruise. if you go the aspiran rout plrase ask you doctor first. Best of luck

For bruising, I think it depends on a combination of things, the implement used, your complexion, and the fat to muscle ratio in your soft tissues.

It's been my experience a darker complected individual with a lot of heavy muscle is not going to bruise very easily.

Someone who is fair skinned, or who has minimal muscle tone, or more fat than muscle, will likely bruise more easily.

Heredity also seems to play a part, in which case you can toss all of the above into the trash can.

Also, the location you are striking makes a difference in terms of leaving marks. For instance, the skin of the buttocks is quite thick. It has to be, you sit on it. The skin on the inner thighs or inner arms is much thinner and thus more apt to leave a mark when struck by something stingy.

I'm with those who say bruising is a personal thing related to many personal factors.

I don't bruise very easily. When I have in the past it has been from implements like paddles. Although after one session where I ended up with bruises, I didn't really bruise after that even with the paddle.

If you are similar to me in that regard, I would not try to get bruises. Your body is not likely to produce them for you no matter how hard you play. And if you are with someone who is used to seeing a lot of bruises from their handiwork, they need to be informed that you don't bruise easily, otherwise play could escalate into unnecessary extremeness as your Dominant and you simply fixate on trying to create bruises instead of just enjoying play. I have had many Dominants comment on how I don't bruise (or what few marks I get seem to disappear even before the evening is through). In other words, I am playing at levels where Dominants are used to seeing bruising, but I don't bruise. I don't think the answer is to simply get more extreme. Certainly for me, being more extreme would not increase the chance of bruising and would probably start to veer into unfun, and possibly dangerous, play for me. Seems pointless.

I have never seen bruises as a necessary component or necessary outcome of play (even though I have enjoyed the few times I have bruised). For those of us who don't bruise easily it would be silly to make this a necessary aspect of our BDSM existence. If leaving marks is truly that important to both of you, I would, as another poster suggested, think of alternative ways to mark your body.

I don't get beat on a regular basis (nor do I want to), but I barely bruise at all. I get spots that hurt like hell and are tender (when I get smacked real hard), but they don't turn black and blue or anything like that.

I wasn't paying attention in a laundry mat, and hit my arm against a coin slot hard enough to break about 5" of skin open from the blunt force trauma. It bled like hell, and hurt like hell for several weeks, but there was no black and blue mark at all.

I am the opposit due to being fair skinned which can be problematic due to my work environment. So for me, I have to be very careful and be sure I tell the Dom about this.

My current slave doesn't bruise very easily and once I do bruise and mark her up, they heal very quickly. This is primarily due to her taking medication for psoriasis. She is an extreme masochist and feels very sad if she isn't wearing my marks.

I mark if you breathe on me too hard. My last submissive was an "etch a sketch", shake him and the marks went away. We were both sad about that, but he's a type 1 diabetic, so there's places you don't go :)

Not everyone marks, and some people mark less and less over time due to changes in their skin and blood vessels.

Ugh I am the same way!!! My Master has asked me to hit myself or whip myself with a belt until i get red and i cant even do that! My skin is not sensitive in any way so all it does is sting more and more with no gratification of a mark :C

I don't bruise easily at all... It's alittle annoying to my Master to see all his art just disapear once my pinkness goes away.... He has taken to marking areas that he knows will mark easily like my thighs.... I like seeing the marks to but have never thought about trying to make myself mark because that could be dangerous.... Perhaps you should think of other ways to mark than bruising as others have stated.... My master even uses peircing... A permenant mark that provides years of fun play!
