ORIGINAL: Hillwilliam As for your claim that "Serino told the media that there's no evidence to refute George's story." Once again, SHOW SOME EVIDENCE. This stuff has been common knowledge for ages. http://articles.orlandosentinel.com/2012-07-07/news/os-george-zimmerman-sanford-police-lied-20120707_1_special-prosecutor-angela-corey-chief-bill-lee-arrest-warrant "Said Serino, "The best evidence we have is the testimony of George Zimmerman. … We did not have enough for an arrest warrant." http://articles.orlandosentinel.com/2012-04-02/news/os-trayvon-martin-federal-review-justice-letter-20120402_1_chief-bill-lee-federal-review-federal-agency ""The best evidence we have is the testimony of George Zimmerman, and he says the decedent was the primary aggressor in the whole event, everything I have is adding up to what he says." - Detective Serino And the FBI Report "Serino is concerned that many of the leaks in this case are coming from within the Sanford Police Department. He listed Sgt AUTHOR BARNS, REBECCA VILLENOVE (phonetic), and TREKELL PERKINS as all pressuring him to file charges against ZIMMERMAN after the incident. Serino did not believe he had enough evidence at the time to file charges. " Also notice from the second article, it addresses the claim that the DA over-ruled an arrest on the 26th...the claim came from the lawyer for Trayvon's parents, Benjamin Crump, who says he "he believes Wolfinger and police Chief Bill Lee Jr. met Feb. 26 and overruled a homicide investigator's recommendation that George Zimmerman be charged with manslaughter." No proof it happened, just a claim from the Martin family lawyer, which Wolfinger denied. The whole "retired judge made a phone call to cause the DA to intervene" thing has no basis in fact, and never has. I'm amazed that myth has persisted this long when the evidence to the contrary has been so available. But then again, months after the fact and people are STILL claiming that George was told to stay in the car, and that never happened either. See, that wasn't so difficult was it? So, we have conflicting tales by the PD. That isnt unusual. I'm mostly concerned about things that do or don't pass the "smell test" If I shoot someone, chances are that unless the person is armed or a huge fucking beast or there were witnesses, my happy ass is gonna be arrested. I used to carry when I worked in Liberty City and Overtown and I expected it. What are the odds that joe sixpack who has NO connections will shoot an unarmed person with no upclose eyewitnesses walks? I'm saying slim and none. In an ideal world, everyone tells the truth and cops don't suspect anyone of lying and if he had cause, he walks. We don't live in an ideal world unfortunately. When a cop questions you, he assumes you are lying until proven otherwise. If you have no connections, you go into a cell and the court can figure it out. If you have connections, phone calls are made and you frequently walk. This thing was unfortunately handled poorly from the beginning. As a result, it is being tried in the court of public opinion instead of a courtroom where it belongs.
