Well like they said 4 years ago... As per Mitch..Our only job is to make sure he does not get a second term.....

I wonder how the GOP would whine if someone said that against Bush..hell I remember when they said not supporting the President during war was only helping the terrorists...Gee seems the GOP has helped the terrorists a hell of a lot the last four years...

So I will bite. What is already there that covers this? And, don't we owe them to try everything we can even if it is duplication? Or are you fine with our heroes coming back to being told to go fuck themselves if they need help......Typical Conservative attitude

There are already SIX Veterans Jobs/Retraining Programs that NOBODY can say how well they work. This Program is modeled on the Civilian Conservation Corps and Works Projects Authority and would consist of make-work jobs picking up trash and planting trees and taking care of Veterans Cemeteries (which is already being done by the Veterans Groups themselves) and some "Helper" jobs in Hospitals and Firehouses. Mind you, all this is Funded for ONE Year with more of the money going to Federal Employees than to the alleged "Workers". AND the Funding is coming out of the Veterans Administration Budget for other Programs.

Thank You, but NO Thank You.

Always the same thing. Always bitching about what "someone else" is going to get rather than making sure we try to help our heroes coming home. Go ahead and squat over the flag and take a dump aylee that is what most republicans do now.

So this mysterious "6" programs. What are they? what do they cover? Or are you just pulling it out of your ass and don't really know...

I would put money on you never having spent even a day in uniform.

By your logic, I did not like this bill because I hate myself. [sarc]Yeah, that makes perfect sense [sarc/]

TAPS and ACAP are two programs. State and VA programs for job retraining and turning experience into a resume. The MEO helps with getting certs based on ME. There are also programs for classes to transition ME into civilian certs.

Um DYB... Obama's plan didn't provide actual jobs either. It provided training, just like the other 47 job assistance programs already being funded by the government.

As a vet I do NOT approve of your message.

For instance...

1
2
3
4

Harry Reid is pulling a political stunt to score points for Democrats in the eve of the election... He doesn't give a shit about vets, or you, he only cares about using vets as pawns to attack the Republicans.

Harry Reid is a low down, scum bag Senator.

Veterans Inc.’s nationally recognized Employment & Training Program helps homeless veterans obtain and retain jobs so they can stabilize their lives, obtain permanent housing, and become self-sufficient. Non-homeless veterans are also eligible for the program.

Approximately 70% of Veterans Inc. clients in the Employment & Training Program, who are able to work, obtain jobs.

Thats from your first link rob, its apparent and has been for a long time, you don't read them.

So it looks like it's back to the teabagging lowdown, scumbag Senators.

America, FUCK YEAH!

The rest of the story is... There are already programs that train veterans, and this would be yet another duplicate program, funded by a bankrupt government.

Sorry leeches, the well is dry, the vault is empty, and the printing press is out of ink... Gonna have to move to Europe if you wanna keep feeding off of the tax payer.

...or become a pretty major stockholder in a tax free US corp. Talk about moochers.

Yeah,
General Electric is a US corp that pays NO taxes, has roughly 50% of its workforce in CHINA and other countries. GE's CEO is Jeff Imelt. Jeff is the guru that Obama picked to check on corporations that send work to china. LMOF !

KEEP LMOFing.  GE pays taxes.  And it is Jeffrey Immelt.  and other than that, nothing is noticably right in your post.

Poor old Mrs. Immelt don't mind you impugning her son so much as she would like you to treat his name with a little respeck.

Acording to the New York Times and others, GE paid NO income tax in 2010 and in fact, got a 3.2 billion dollar credit. And Jeff is Obama's guy as an example of a "good business leader?" I wonder how Obama spells hypocrite?

So the ancedote is the synechdoche.

Tell me why they paid no taxes in 2010, one assumes that would be taxes due from the 2009 tax year?  Or did you mean 'for'  2010.

I assume that Obama would spell hypocrite in the normal way, republican.

Perhps you might tell us just how this one is duplicative except in your knee-jerck reaction to defend the indefensible?

Sorry, but I'm not automatically for this. We need to start considering which expenses are absolutely necessary and which are nice to have. This one isn't absolutely necessary, so it should be back burnered until a comprehensive bill comes together which restrains discretionary funding.

Really??? Just how does this bill duplicate anything? Why are veterans not an absolute necessity? You sure think it is absolutely necessary when the "shit hits the fan"

wow.... the veterans of this country are leeches?

Not the Vets, the people trying to score political points by using them. Again there are already programs to help the vets transition into civilian life, job training programs, housing assistance, medical assistance... Why do you think they need yet another program?

Aren't you sick of the wasteful spending coming out of Washington? And the pork spending? And the politicians pandering to the special interest du jour?

Veterans are the "special interest de jour"?

Enough with the heart string, feel good legislation, and enough with the fucking game. I'm sick and tired of the politicians playing these fucking games, trying to make the other party look bad at the expense of the rest of us...

You should be too. You all should be ashamed of yourselves for promoting this garbage.

Veterans should get all the money they need. Idiots like Subrob1967 should go to a front line combat area and should do what those heroic soldiers do on a daily basis to protect your way of life.

Been there, done that... How about you?

Which front line combat area have you "been to and done that" ?

Thank you for not pandering for votes and political favor. It's time America start viewing the way we behave a bit more adult like. As noble a cause as ourvets, who I am one of, if we default and in a sense go bankrupt, we'll loose a lot more than a Vet program or two.

This bill served no real purpose other than to create political cannon fodder, imho.

Since you have read the bill perhaps you could explane to us just how it is nothing but political cannon fodder and what is being duplicated?
