Sounds like racism in this "special case"  gets the old rubber stamp of approval.

Sounds like my comment above is being acted out for us.

a resonable amount of adult maturity. Something I have seen lacking in almost all the threads on this issue.

Well, if you mean Warren, Tazzy, that's easy to explain. Some of us find that whole affair funnier than hell. Some people don't find it funny at all.

Attacking someone for their ancestry is funny? Is that really what you meant to write?

tazzygirl -> RE: I am sorry if I caused a flap calling a user on the War Paint issue... (9/27/2012 12:31:05 AM)

If she has declared to have been of any other race, and those stereotypical racist comments had come out, they would not have been allowed to remain, they would have been decried and denounced by almost everyone (sadly, a few would have thought it was funny) and that would have been the end of it.

In last week's Massachusetts Senate debate, Sen. Scott Brown made a particularly insensitive remark about Elizabeth Warren: "Professor Warren claimed that she was a Native American, a person of color, and as you can see, she's not."
Cspan first five minutes....proves he said it....
Yet at a press conference..he says
REPORTER: ... the debate that, "As you can see," she's not Indian. Can you tell by looking at someone what their ethnicity is? What's your feeling on that?
BROWN: [Avoids the question, talks about Warren's character, integrity, blah, blah, blah....]

REPORTER: But you're suggesting you can tell by somebody's—

BROWN: I never made that suggestion at all.

The amazing part of the whole thing is that a former Gov. of Ma can't help the sitting Senator to retain his seat.......This should be a slam dunk.

mnottertail -> RE: I am sorry if I caused a flap calling a user on the War Paint issue... (9/27/2012 8:04:49 AM)

Well, I gotta tell you DYB, Brown has actually been a pretty good democrat overall, politically. Regardless of the letter behind his name.

When he spit out that horrible example of skirting the issue, I felt "can this idiot even hear what's coming out of his mouth? The lamest talking head can practice avoidance without sounding like he's reading the wrong page of the script. Never mind how it's Bashir crazy to imply you can guess race likas if he's getting audio cues oft an earpiece and The guys on the other end are having a real blast fucking him up.
Scott Brown makes one campaign claim that's definitely true.
He's not a professional politician, he's about as unprofessional as I've ever seen in politics. The problem is that he's held the office since January 2010... And thats oodles of time to get his head out of his ass. And here in the Bay State, we can't even see his ears yet.

You make an EXCELLENT POINT DYB. And you know why this is? It's because the people of the Commonwealth bit once on his "businessman/savior bullshit. And we got left high and dry with climbing unemployment a outsourcing now an Institution and a healthcare program that had to be completely revamped by Deval Patrick.
Brown won't stand in the same city as Romney.
Isn't it funny how nobody wants Romney's endorsement? I can see that with an unpopular outgoing president like dubyah. But right now, the republicans are marketing as their flagship product.
Really odd.

Ron.... The state is full of ACTUAL DEMOCRATS .... Why would we want the Manchurian version. I keep worrying I'll be at one of his speeches and he'll start quoting Frost and pull the cord on his suicide vest.

Well, christ almighty Willard is stupidity in fluidity in any case, he had our ex-Gov Pawlenty towncrying for him here and they were together on the stump, and that has all but lost him Minnesota, gallavanting around with that fiscal disaster of a Pawlenty.

Oh Puuuuuuuuullllllllleassssssse passive agression went out with dubyah. We're having a discussion here about a US Senator who EMPLOYS people who by a news account and the account of a poster who witnessed the behavior himself towards another opponent.
It's a discussion that ESTABLISHES their is a racism issue by the leaders of the people it hurts, in their own words. And if you want to enter the discussion and soften their acts, at least please wear the hat.
Boo hoo hoo has no part in this discussion.

I disagree, some republicans boo hoo hoo crocodile tears everytime something is said that they dont like (either they dry or fail to respond)

Anyhow, under free speech they have the right to cry all they like, just as I have the right not to make it better for the poor darlings. [8D]

It's typical of the Neocon to want to engage in hater politics and then refuse the label.

The is another debate on for Monday Night in lowel at the Tsongas.

I dont disagree. He is repugnant but he knows what he needs to vote for. Problem is, the way the Senate runs now, we need to know we have the vote each and every play. Not when he thinks he wants to give it.

mnottertail -> RE: I am sorry if I caused a flap calling a user on the War Paint issue... (9/28/2012 6:42:38 AM)

Good point DYB, and fairly made.

War Paint, another slam....

You really think you have an exclusivity to the term 'War Paint"???

tazzygirl -> RE: I am sorry if I caused a flap calling a user on the War Paint issue... (9/28/2012 4:01:55 PM)

When made in reference to someone saying they are Native American... yes.

SternSkipper -> RE: I am sorry if I caused a flap calling a user on the War Paint issue... (9/28/2012 5:29:46 PM)

DYB's got it pretty much on target again. Brown definitely knows he's being watched.
Even these dopes blatheringon about how "Scott's their guy", are watching fuckface outoof the corner of their eye. On a.lot of important sort of sudden votes he has TOTALLY Been a good little GOP anchor.
He's been .HUGE waste of time for voters of the Commonwealth. All these fucking news heads make all this noise.about how "he's a true independent". All the way up to Leslie Stahl. Well now place yourself in the showed of a.Massachusetts voter. And now ask yourself "what fucking good is an 'independent' representing you in the senate who votes against you 40% of the time?
