Status: offline 		Degradation is an interesting concept. A lot of people have issues with it because it can imply many things, many of which are extreme and toe the line of what is mentally safe for most individuals.

That said, degradation could be a lot of fun when done in a way that IS safe and there is good communication.

One of my favorite forms of degradation, has to do with degradation of character, ie through corruption. Its a slow process that takes time, but can have a huge impact. A good example is corrupting the innocence of your partner. Changing their viewpoints on a topic, making them love pain, anal, wearing their collar at all times, these things are degrading the innocence of the person. Pointing this out at key times can bring upon feelings of shame and humiliation that could be quite erotic when handled appropriately.

What I would say, though, that over the years I've had some really lovely, nurturing, relationships with some very happy, confident and self-aware sub women who really love being degraded.

So, like many terms in the BDSM world, it means lots of things to lots of people....

To the OP... the point of my first post on this thread to point out that "degradation" implies different things to different people.

Status: offline 		I agree crazyml. I was a bit taken aback from the whole "so many things other than those to do" but for me .. that is what i crave and love to do in a nurturing relationship. I do know it is not for everyone though

Kink terms are often very subjective, so I can't say 100% what the OP means, but I personally do make a distinction between the two.

In my mind, humiliation is when something is arousing because it makes you feel embarrassed or ashamed, while degradation is when something is arousing because it makes you feel trashy or debased or inhuman. The same act (say, peeing your pants like crazyml mentioned) could be either or both depending on the person receiving it.

Status: offline 		Look, some people crave, at times humiliation or degradation....it happens no matter how much others think it is wrong.....I did know a gal that craved such a thing....but verbal abuse did not do it for her......I sat and drank coffee with her, lots of coffee. We talked about what would do it for her and she could not decide or articulate....so we had more coffee, and more coffee. When she finally realized I would not let her use the restroom, panic set in, but she did not go. She begged to go and I refused.......we went outside, and in the parking lot, standing, no one was close, but the place was not deserted, she relieved herself fully clothed.....then next day was when I found out she found what she was seeking........to each their own.

Status: offline 		all subs are different...for example, while some subs would be humiliated if forced to do the following my sub "loves" me and does this with great GUSTO. I have him wash my feet, trim my nails, scrub any callouses, apply lotion, apply medicinal salves.

some subs get humiliated just being undressed, some as footstools, some as nude house cleaners, some by being forced to serve Master's friends sexually, some piss-play ON or IN them, etc ...find out what your sub dislikes...really dislikes

Status: offline 		While it was not my intention, a former sub of mine found it too degrading to go around a play party and pass out supplies for the next mixer game. She was properly attired for the event. Those present did not see anything special while she did so. She was just not comfortable approaching people she did not know. My intent was simply to have her help the host. The assignment could have easily been at a vanilla party. In my eyes, the function was no different.

I love when someone comes here and pronounces that everyone is wrong because we don't agree with what you think.

Try to comprehend that there are all flavors of kinks and stop telling people what they are.
