A lot of women seem to be looking for intelligent men to stimulate their minds and good looking men to stimulate their ovaries. Where does that leave us dumb, ugly guys? Sure, I can write a complete sentence, but if a woman is looking for something beyond that I am at a loss. My looks have been known to break mirrors in furniture stores and young children run away in fear when I enter a room. I think smart, good looking guys are ruining it for the rest of us. =P

It's called confidence. Doesn't matter how ugly you are, display confidence in yourself and someone will find you attractive.

Intelligence is also relative. Most people who say 'intelligent' are not looking for a future Nobel prize winner, but rather someone they can have an interesting conversation with, someone willing to learn new things, someone with a bit of common sense, someone who has seen the world beyond mom's basement. You will very rarely be asked to solve quadratic equations or interpret middle-English poetry whilst dating.

PS. You look fine to me. A little angry, maybe.

On a somewhat more serious note, I refuse to believe that you have lived to the ripe old age of 40
feeling sorry for whatever cards you were dealt, and if so, shame on you for wasting all that time.

good looking is subjective. my best friend thinks all of her ex's have been good looking, but i've only met one of them that i would think of as good looking.

now bare this in mind too; the most beautiful man can be as ugly as fuck as soon as he opens his mouth and speaks (it applies to woman too). i thought a guy that lived near me when at school was really goodlooking. however, when i started going out with him, and found i couldn't talk to him because he was boring i was turned off completely.

on the opposite side to that; my ex is not what i'd consider good looking. certainly not ugly, just not what i would think of as a gorgeous man, but he had alot of something else that i found very attractive. so much so that i spent 16yrs with him. what he did to cause our break up completely ruined whatever it was that i have loved about him, so that now i look at him and see nothing to like. he isn't the brightest of men on paper, but he is exceptionaly practical, and can hold a conversation.

my playmate is much more my "type" in that i find him incredibly sexy, gorgeous, and he has a brain so that i can have a level of conversation that stimulates my mind.

it's all subjective

I have dated men who had movie star (think Cary Grant) good looks.

[My] Master is not one of them but to me He is the most handsome and gorgeous man I have ever known.

If you don't see yourself as being smart enough to carry on a conversation, then my knee-jerk reaction isn't that you lack intelligence but that instead, you are lazy.

How much time do you spend keeping up with current events, or finding ways to stretch your mind and use your brain.
What subjects are you interested in?
Have you thought to take a writing workshop or a public speaking class?

I agree with my colleagues above, it is so subjective when it comes to looks and intelligence for that matter.

I can tell you with all honesty that the most gorgeous man becomes incredibly ugly if he treats people badly.

I told my ex that he does not have the face he deserves and that hopefully, one day, his ugly insides would catch up to his great looking outside.

I will admit that I have never chosen a man for the traditional handsome appearance. I have been with some homely men, lol, no...I'm not kidding. Someone once told my son "No offense man, but your Dad is one weird looking guy. I have no idea what your Mom was thinking." The son said, "Yeah, I hear you. I often wonder about that myself, and I'm just glad I didn't take after his side of the family." Lol.

It's all about personality and confidence. You have that and there's a good chance you'll get my attention. Although I think my Dominant is a cutie patootie, he's just not going to stand out anywhere. Which is fine! Cuz he's mine <3

I have friends who rhapsodize about their men, which is as it should be. Some of the time, I have NO clue what they're seeing as far as looks go. And that's fine. In spite of all the psychobabble about attraction, there's no set standard. Go to the grocery store, or the diner, and look around. People hook up in spite of themselves sometimes.

Or, they have another coffee. ;)

Hib just beat Me to it. I was just about to write to say sorry, OP, that I can't help you. My guys are both attractive and smart, so there's not much I can do to help you.

Though, it is worth mentioning, how often do you really come across a chick who loves someone and then goes on to say that the guy *isn't* attractive?
