Hmm. On the House side, we had the GOP take the administration (and all of us) to the brink of default, resulting in the first credit downgrade in our history, rather than compromise with the President. Over in the Senate, we had McConnell point-blank saying his top priority was to deny Obama a second term--to the backdrop of an explosion of filibusters. Where are you seeing "extra slack"?

Unemployment over 8% for the overwhelming majority of his term, and stagnant. A murdered ambassador, and a parade of lies from the administration and White House over how it happened. Embassies stormed across the ME. A complete inability to lead, or work across the aisle. A record number of Americans on food stamps. Disregard for the Constitutional limitations of his authority (best illustrated in re-legislating welfare reform and immigration law by executive order, and finding a "remote control exception," to Congress having the exclusive power to declare war).

The rallying cry is that Bin Laden is dead, and GM is alive, except the Egyptians are chanting, "Obama - Obama, we are all Osama," and the Volt assembly line keeps getting shut down for lack of buyer interest.

Slack isn't something the President has, DC. It's something he needs the undecided voters to give him. "Please, Baby, give me one more chance," would be another way to put it.

My hypothesis here is that the media is going to draw racial issues out, as a way to guilt white liberals into voting for a man who clearly has not earned four more years.

Fast and Furious.

Solyandra and Light Squared and others.

Calling the Ft Hood shooting an act of workplace violence instead of terrorism.

Eric Holder and his failure to prosecute ALL civil rights violations without regard to race, class, or gender.

Turning a blind eye to the resurgence of oppression in Georgia, Ukraine, and Chechnya. Among other other places.

Warren Rothman.

I am sure there are more but I am tired.

Well yeah, but it's still all W's fault, and he's figured out that he needs to be a better storyteller, and if he wins, the Republicans are going to start magically deciding that, "gee, more government really is the perfect solution to every little problem that comes along."

If he can pick up some bonus points off being, "historic," he can sure as hell use them, when voters go to the polls, or decide if they want to.

Agreed. And we don't, I think, yet know whether they'll do so. Or why. It may be that folks decide to stick with the familiar or that they think even less of Romney. It seems a bit of a leap to conclude, as your "bumper sticker" did, that a second Obama term, should one exist, is necessarily due to his race.

The question I have with that is whether there's a single, monolithic "media" in the U.S. that acts in concert? And wouldn't white liberals be voting for Obama anyway?

Obama and his administration were against the Egyptian revolt. Why do you continue to persist with the lie ?

I am appalled at the blatant and rampant racism this country has displayed over the past 4 years of Mr Obama's administration. The daily cross burning on the White House lawn, the lyinchings in reality or in effigy around D.C. and anywhere Mr. President travels. I am highly distressed that the Secret Service never finds time to let down their guard for a moment anywhere the president is, or is likely to be.
I can't tell whether I should be more concerned about the dangers our President faces, merely because of the color of his skin, or the folks who are trying to make a distraction out of what really appears to be a non-issue. I can't see where his color causes any more resistance than other presidents have encountered, and give him a slight edge while people evaluate if their thought was racist, or simply pragmatic.

It's always interesting to witness a poster's comedy debut.

Lie??? My President threw Mubarek under the bus. What sort of nonsensical spin and propaganda is informing your judgement on this?

Why blame it on any politician? Isn't self-reliance a key conservative virtue? Grab those bootstraps and pull!

As evidenced by reports on drudge and fox news would seem it is DEFINITELY going to be race month for Republicans. A vid of the President in 2007 where he actually says we should invest in our communities? the horror....

Talked to any of them lately?

http://www.ksdk.com/news/article/335165/28/GM-expected-to-suspend-Chevy-Volt-production-over-slow-sales-

quote:

GM assembles the Volt and recently began making small numbers of the redesigned 2013 Chevrolet Malibu at the Detroit-Hamtramck plant, which straddles both cities' limits.

GM assembled 590 Malibus in June and July, according to the Automotive News Data Center. Most Malibu production is done at GM's Fairfax assembly plant in Kansas City, Kansas.

It's the second time this year that GM has throttled back on Volt production. The Detroit-Hamtramck plant was idled from March 19 until April 16 amid swollen Volt inventories.

Where is this list, and by whom is it kept? I would hate to insult anyone unintentionally. I remember about 35 years ago getting a list of terms that could be considered offensive, but back then "groovy" was a reasonable word. Code only really works if both ends of communication have the key. Although disinformation is quite effective if people think they know the answers.

Sorry, not really trying to bleame it on anyone. It is what it is. I have been told that comedy is not likely to earn me a living.

Nah... Those assholes are part of the 47% the guy that turn all the morons on this thread into his hitches says need to take responsibility in their own lives. Just like he did with his trust fund.
